Also, once Itai's undead army becomes more intelligent, they could all learn it in bulk, and that would be a huge power boost. Anyway, I'm still thinking it over,' thought Flain.

Days began to pass again, and another full three months went by. Flain decided to keep the book, and if Itai ever got confronted by the Overseer to return it, he would simply leave the Imperial City.
Flain made a lot of progress in creating his spell. He encountered a pretty big issue—if he used it for more than 30 seconds, he'd run out of mana. But then he had a pretty good idea, which he managed to implement, and it worked so that it didn't consume any mana at all.
He also once made a big mistake and completely messed up the spell, forcing him to start over, which made him really angry. Luckily, he remembered most of it—otherwise, he would've been screwed.
