Chapter 87 - Chapter 88: The Killing Begins!

Chapter 88: The Killing Begins!

Captain Werewolf was acting like an immature child, leaving Chang Wei speechless.

But there was a reason he had Captain Werewolf follow them. Fatty Major might use Seras as an experimental subject to study him.

That possibility was quite high.

After all, he had turned Seras into a "monster." Excluding the method of turning humans into divine vessels with sacred nails, like Father Anderson did, the most likely explanation was that Chang Wei was also a monster—definitely not an exorcist. Seras was very likely his offspring.

If Fatty Major captured Seras, he could analyze and deduce some conclusions. That was something Chang Wei had to guard against.

Besides, it was a great opportunity for Captain Werewolf to reunite with his old teammates—a delightful scenario.

Because of this, Chang Wei kept a close eye on the situation.

Captain Werewolf and Seras flew to South America, while Alucard and Bernadotte's mercenary group arrived simultaneously.

Originally, Bernadotte didn't believe in the existence of vampires—until he met Alucard.

In the original story, Seras had been the one to introduce them to the reality of vampires, but this time, Alucard did it in a much more violent fashion. Not that it mattered—mercenaries were war hounds who fought for money. As long as they got paid, they'd do anything. Working with vampires? No big deal.

Chang Wei only gave the two of them a single piece of intelligence: the Nazi vampire Tubalcain Alhambra would appear at a certain hotel in South America. So, after a brief "discussion," they decided to lie in wait.

Seras did the talking, while Captain Werewolf simply agreed or disagreed with his expressions.

Alucard, being a coffin-dweller, was taken directly to a room upon arrival. He didn't leave—an old man preferring to hide in dark corners, reminiscing about the past.

Without Seras the naïve cop to lighten the mood, Bernadotte still found vampires terrifying and unsettling. He didn't dare stay in the same room as Alucard, so after setting up security measures, he slipped out to gather intelligence.

Meanwhile, in the Millennium Organization…

"Hmm? That Seras is here too."

Inside the Last Battalion, Fatty Major was monitoring the situation. He had deliberately leaked information about the Millennium forces in South America to lure Alucard in.

He hadn't expected such a bonus.

"Besides Seras, the Captain is here too," said the Doctor.

"The Captain?"

Fatty Major's glasses glinted.

"Forget it. He's already betrayed us—there's no way he's coming back."

Fatty Major couldn't understand why a loyal attack dog would suddenly turn on them. That's why he remained deeply wary of Chang Wei.

He wasn't about to let himself be "turned" as well. His ideology, his will—those were things he absolutely could not allow to be shaken. He wouldn't tolerate further betrayals among his subordinates either.

Fortunately, from their tests, it seemed that Chang Wei wasn't specifically targeting them. The presence of Seras gave Fatty Major some insight into Chang Wei's motives.

Fatty Major studied the photos of Chang Wei. Aside from being annoyingly handsome, there didn't seem to be anything remarkable about him.

But he could tell—Chang Wei was the same kind of being as Alucard. No, he was even more terrifying.

That gaze.

Violent, domineering, arrogant, menacing.

Ah… what a beautiful and powerful existence. He must be utterly terrifying—far beyond Alucard.

But for now, he wasn't the target.

Fatty Major regretfully extended his hand.

His plan could only be used once, and it had to be against a fully analyzed enemy. That meant Alucard.

"Proceed with the operation, Doctor," Fatty Major commanded.

"Yes, sir."

The Doctor hesitated. If Seras and Captain Werewolf returned now, would they have learned their location from him? Should they relocate?

But Fatty Major, with his keen analytical skills, concluded that Captain Werewolf hadn't revealed their location. He wasn't sure why, but their movements suggested they weren't looking for them. Instead, they seemed to be waiting for something.

As if they had seen right through his plan.

Fatty Major was eager to see if his suspicions were correct. If they were, he'd have to reconsider everything.

"Creating monsters and making them fight each other—that is our very purpose for existing. Who will be screaming by the end? That handsome man, or Seras?"

"I have faith in my creations, Major," the Doctor said, placing a hand on his chest with confidence.

"Then let's wait and see."

Seras had thought they'd be stuck waiting idly, but to her surprise, the hotel was sealed off that night.

The local police chief had fallen under Tubalcain's control and declared Alucard a terrorist, mobilizing the entire police force to exterminate him.

Since he was deemed an extremely dangerous terrorist, there was no need for arrests—shoot on sight.

The officers on the ground were baffled. Since when had South American police become so ruthless? And why issue a kill-on-sight order?

But they carried out the mission eagerly, as it was being promoted as a major reform of the South American police force.

Alucard had no reaction to being surrounded. He simply called Integra, requesting permission.

He had no qualms about slaughtering them, but he needed Integra's approval first.

After assessing the situation, Integra gave the kill order without hesitation. She wasn't one to hesitate—her main priority was Britain's peace and security. The deaths of South American officers didn't concern her. It was just a small country—powerless against Britain.

"Mr. Howl, should we act?"

Seras and Captain Werewolf were also surrounded. The police hadn't warned the hotel guests to avoid alerting their targets, so they were effectively trapped.

Captain Werewolf simply stared at Seras without a word.

Seras sighed. She knew he was letting her decide.

After a bit of scratching her head, she decided to stay put.

At that moment, Captain Werewolf walked to the window and looked down.

Seras followed his gaze.

In the lamplight outside the hotel stood a tall, lanky man with green eyes, light gray hair, and a sparse brown beard. He wore a brown suit, vest, and a wide-brimmed fedora, with a blue tie.

Their target—Tubalcain Alhambra!

Since their quarry had appeared, there was no need to wait any longer.

Seras smashed through the window and leaped out.

Tubalcain feared Alucard's silver bullets. That was why he was using the South American police to waste Alucard's ammunition—sacrificing them as mere cannon fodder.
