Chapter 49 - Chapter 49: Look at the void

The more I found out about the truth nature about the resurgence the more impressed I become. I've started to realize how the power works regarding each vessel user that possessed this cruel power. Wade the tragic unlocked his telekinesis when his mind was cloaked by wrath and anger to revenge his only daughter, he wanted to kill everything on his path and assumingly the resurgence found it's way to fit into him... Giving him the ability to move physical things with his own mind, crushing someone's head, internal organs and breaking bones.

As for Glava's unfortunate tragedy he awakened up his armorer-vessel when he saved the child who was about to get killed --- Simple as that. In other words each vessel symbolizes their true nature and for what they do in their most important of moments. Let's say I want to try bend the trajectory of my bullets(I can already do that with Wade's telekinesis).

And let's use a hypothesis too. I am a slave boy, a boy who have to do unconditioned labor with an a shit pay, and my bosses hates me and forces me to work more then I can manage. At that point I would want to escape no matter what right? Yes that's probably what I'd do. My escape was grandeur and dramatic running from armed guards that wouldn't hesitate to pierce me with their spears and as I'm making my escape I feel most alive when I'm rapidly approaching my death.

Its not action that counts but the willpower to do it. The willpower to oppose the rules of what was set on me from before. I would bend the rules and with an vessel capable enough I myself could bend the very rules of nature controlling the trajectory of the bullet with my own mind or whatever it may be.

In a easier term the vessels have a correlation between you and what you want to do for the rest of your life — Do I want to become a warrior who fights off Leviathan all my life? then give me a vessel related to slaying them!

But letting all that talk go for now I think I must've started yapping to myself because I'm seeing something Infront of me.

Shortly after Solan had fainted he found himself quick to wake up in the middle of the darkness.. his source. Being the only thing luminating throughout the dark with his body carrying an outline with a glow he had woken up to see that he wasn't really the only thing shining.

Infront of him was several purple threads afloat in the midst of the void. Thin threads webbed together like a spider's web — a beautiful symmetrical pattern yet it seemed to have something much darker history to it — after all it was showing itself to Solan in his own source.

"...Thin threads...". Solan asked himself approaching the afloat webbing.

Solan felt his mind un-attaching, remembering what he had done before arriving here his body felt a cold. The sight and feel of the assassin's blood on his body and tongue was still lingering in his mind. luckily he couldn't vomit or feel symptoms of sickness now that he was in his own source — a non existent place unattached from reality.

"...Back then It felt like several people were speaking in my head, what did they call themselves again? the vanguard was it?". Solan asked himself before making a stop now standing right Infront of the violet colored webbing radiating a calm breeze.

"Hopefully Lumine have found a thing or two while I've been away".

The sudden sound voice of a man echoed through the void.

A bit startled Solan regained his composure as the voice started to sound familiar to him

Solan wasn't sure if he was speaking he ironic but let it go before asking the voice a question, his face and body unfazed by the sudden appearance of another entity in his own mind.

"Are you the being that possessed me a moment ago?"

"...Then what the hell is wrong with you!?" Solan barked out on the voice angered and pissed.

"You made me eat a human being! that's disgusting and its considered cannibalism!".

Surprised by the revelation that the voice used to be a cannibal he needed to set the foundations straight.

"...W-Wait a second, who are you exactly?" Solan asked rubbing the temple of his nose after answers.

"Me? My name is scumbag two... and I am part of the great vanguard who once terrorized the sea!" The voice said loudly and and pridefully almost.

Introducing himself the form of a phantom was created behind him. Overlooking his shoulders a towering man wearing heavy armor leaving no openings at all and his helmet gap left no seemingly sight which made Solan curious about how he could see through his helmet.

"Scumbag two? what kind of name is that?"

"That's the name that was bestowed to me from The master".

"...And who was that? I assume your some kind of victim of the resurgence...". He said analyzing the over-armored man. No matter how he much Solan looked he couldn't recognize the armor style nor the symbols he had engraved into significant parts like the chest plate. It had a familiar style to the Daimon's knight armor he'd seen in books but whatever he wore was way too bulky which but the comparison off the books.

"My master's name is Pierre".

"Pierre!?"

Solan was bewildered, his stance getting into a cautiones one almost. This guy was a servant of the first curse bearer? what a fuck ton of luck Solan had thought to himself before a slight excitement building up, regaining his composure as he straightened his back.

"Really? Then how are you here? And what happened to Pierre?"

"...I would really love to tell ya kid but even If I did it would just get censored out by the curse".

"...You wanna see?"

"#******####***####**###" The voice was distorted in a high pitch, it gave of a creaking and nauseating tone that Solan's eardrums couldn't tolerate.

"A-Alright you can stop now".

With a throughout thinking Solan didn't understand how scumbag one could be here. The theory that was most possible was because he must've been a servant of Pierre — the entire root of the resurgence line.

"I have so many questions but I think we can only go with our current situation".

"..Alright I can hear you out".

"Why did you eat that assassin? you should've just knocked him out cold... He was important figure with information that I could've used".

"Yes, I know that... That's what I read in your mind but there were something else that told me otherwise".

Solan raised an eyebrow.

"....".

"..You were already pissed to begin with since you couldn't participate in that tournament, you needed to absorb a second vessel right? Well I did that for you... I ate that guy to absorb his vessel".

So that could work? eating someone with a vessel is the same as drinking another elder's blood? Its a cruel way that Solan would never tolerate again.

"...Aren't there any more human friendly ways instead of eating?"

Scumbag one approached Solan closer, his height towering Solan more than 2 meters. He was a huge person that was sure, there was no way this guy was this big when he used to be whatever he was.

"...There are, but you my friend aren't on that level yet!".

With a follow up 'scumbag one' then spoke with a prideful tone.

"... And that's why I ate that guy! because the threads your seeing belongs to the third user Irene!".

"That spider web?" Solan asked just to confirm it.

"Yeah, those threads were her signature vessel...".

"...Threads? They must be special".

Scumbag huffed with a slight chuckle under his breath — gesturing to what Solan was saying was right.

"So they are? What can they do?"

"...Heh, they are but I'm not the right person to tell you that".

"Not the right person... Yeah, If I've really unlocked the path of the third user shouldn't she really be here?".

"That was the plan but she kind of fucked it up".

"Fucked it up? How?". Solan asked curious.

"...Lets just say she lost herself to insanity, anyways those webs are the proof that your a step further and from this point you can figure things yourself easily... The space within you that contract the vessel's energy have increased and will serve you right as long as you treat it right". He said lifting his huge finger covered by a eldritch gauntlet pointing it at Solan's chest.

The huge man started to fade in just a moment slowly, decaying into pure dust.

"..I have one special warning for you before you wake up".

Solan was silent, eager to hear this special warning that the scumbag one seemed serious about.

"No matter what, don't use the resurgence vessel until you've met with the second user".

"...Alright". Solan answered simply.

"Ah! that was easier then I expected! Well see again until you reach your full potential!".

Disappearing completely Solan found himself alone again in the void. With only the cobweb being the only of two sources of light.

Solan sighed.

Despite it being impossible to feel tired within the source due to its non-existence Solan still found a way to feel exhausted. The battle against the assassin had taken a great toll on him and still thinking about the blood that were stained on his clothes and hand he felt a chill run down his skin.

"I wonder what they'll say about me now...".
