Chapter 461 - Chapter 461: Do it yourself

"Old Chen, stop drinking. Are you really not going to the Light and Darkness Douluo's wedding?"

In the War God Temple, looking at Chen Xinjie, who was dead drunk, Yu Guanzhi couldn't help but pat him on the shoulder.

Chen Xinjie was his senior disciple brother, and he knew very well how deeply Chen Xinjie loved Long Yeyue.

Back when Long Yeyue married the Heaven-Blessed Douluo, Chen Xinjie was heartbroken and went into seclusion to avoid seeing it.

That seclusion lasted ten years. When he emerged, he had become a Limit Douluo, the youngest in the history of the War God Temple, and took over as the Hall Master, reaching the peak of his life.

Later, he was pressured into marriage by the former Sea God Douluo. The woman was also a gifted talent, but because Chen Xinjie couldn't forget Long Yeyue, the two had almost no emotional connection. After giving birth to Chen Zeyu, she left.

Now, Long Yeyue was getting married again—this time to a boy more than ten years her junior. Yu Guanzhi could understand why Chen Xinjie was upset.

"You go ahead. I won't be going," Chen Xinjie said, shaking his head, looking utterly despondent.

"Alright then, I'll be on my way." Yu Guanzhi sighed lightly. After all, Long Yeyue was a senior figure in the soul master world, and Tang Wulin was now the Sea God Pavilion Master of Shrek Academy.

Even though Shrek Academy had been destroyed, it had once been a giant. More importantly, though the Academy had fallen, with two peak powerhouses like Long Yeyue and Yali surviving and even breaking through...

Recently, Yali had just been reported to have reached the Limit Douluo level. Now Long Yeyue had reached the quasi-god realm. Just the presence of these two meant Shrek Academy could still be counted among the top-tier forces.

Besides, even if not for Shrek Academy or Long Yeyue, he had to show respect to Yali.

As a high-ranking military officer, Yu Guanzhi absolutely had to attend Long Yeyue and Tang Wulin's wedding.

He didn't notice that the moment he left, Chen Xinjie suddenly stood up, his eyes shining with sharp light—no sign of drunkenness at all.

Before Yu Guanzhi left, Guan Yue had already taken many War Gods to congratulate Long Yeyue and Tang Wulin.

Now, the War God Temple was practically empty—only a few remained. With his status, Chen Xinjie could quietly sneak out with the Eternal Heaven.

"I'm sorry… but for Yueyue, I have to do this," Chen Xinjie muttered as he walked deeper into the temple.

In truth, no one wanted to attend Long Yeyue and Tang Wulin's wedding more than he did. He dreamed of seeing Long Yeyue in a wedding dress.

Even if he wasn't the groom, just seeing her in a wedding dress would be enough.

But part of the wedding's purpose was to create an opportunity for him to steal the Eternal Heaven.

Using a grand and unusual wedding to attract the full attention of the Sun-Moon Federation's upper ranks—this would give him the best chance to succeed.

If he failed, the Sun-Moon Federation would never give him another opportunity.

At his suggestion, Long Yeyue and Tang Wulin deliberately changed the wedding venue to the Royal Plaza of Mingdu.

Firstly, to maximize the attention of the Federation's top brass. Secondly, to ensure Chen Xinjie could be supported at any moment.

If Chen Xinjie failed, they would resort to seizing the Eternal Heaven by force.

Long Yeyue knew exactly what Chen Xinjie was thinking. To make sure he could act with a clear mind, she had visited him the night before wearing her wedding dress—fulfilling his wish in advance.

Now, all Chen Xinjie wanted was to obtain the Eternal Heaven and repay Long Yeyue.

At that moment, the Royal Plaza of Mingdu was already packed with people. Long Yeyue and Tang Wulin stood hand-in-hand on the main stage, both wearing blissful smiles.

Long Yeyue had regained her youthful appearance—looking like she was in her twenties. Dressed in a white wedding gown, she was breathtaking. Standing beside her, the handsome Tang Wulin did make a striking couple.

At the very front of the stage stood renowned Limit Douluos: Yue Tian Douluo Guan Yue, Divine Pen Douluo Yu Guanzhi, Spirit Transmission Douluo Qian Gu Dongfeng, Fierce Wolf Douluo Dong Zi'an, and Titan Douluo Yuanen Zhentian.

"How odd. Why hasn't the Holy Spirit Douluo shown up yet? That's not like her," Guan Yue frowned. By rights, Yali should be present for the entire event. Her absence was very unusual.

"Why does the Light and Darkness Douluo keep glancing west?" Yuanen Zhentian asked curiously.

"Your Yuanen Clan doesn't often mingle in soul master circles, so it's normal you don't know these things," Guan Yue sighed, looking at Long Yeyue, who kept glancing toward the War God Temple. Those familiar with the past between her and Chen Xinjie couldn't help but sigh internally.

"Seems like the Light and Darkness Douluo still hasn't let go of her senior," Yu Guanzhi also thought with a quiet sigh.

"The Holy Spirit Douluo is here!" someone shouted. Everyone turned to see Yali appear at the outer edge of the plaza.

Dressed in a pristine white gown, her presence was ethereal. Her fair, rosy skin looked so delicate it seemed it would bruise with a touch.

"What's going on today? Yali looks stunning. This doesn't look like a widow. Even a newlywed woman wouldn't have such radiance," many couldn't help but marvel.

In their memory, even when Yali had just married Yun Ming, she didn't shine like this.

Before they could think more, Yali walked directly to the main stage. She looked up, locking eyes with Long Yeyue.

The moment their eyes met, sparks flew in the air. Though both smiled shortly after, the aura of two quasi-gods flared, making the surrounding atmosphere heavy with pressure.

"What's going on? The Holy Spirit Douluo and the Light and Darkness Douluo seem to have some serious beef," the crowd buzzed with confusion.

They racked their brains but couldn't understand why Long Yeyue and Yali looked like mortal enemies.

"Quasi-god, damn…" All eyes darted between Long Yeyue and Yali before settling on Yali.

No one was surprised that Long Yeyue had broken through—she was a veteran Limit Douluo. But Yali had only just broken through a few days ago. This kind of speed might be the fastest ever from demi-god to quasi-god.

"Yali, I'm so glad you're alright," Long Yeyue said first, squinting slightly.

"You think I'm alright?" Yali gave a bitter smile and asked, "Sister Yue, tell me—after turning me into this, even now that you've faced the consequences, do you regret it?"

"It was all for Shrek Academy. I don't regret it," Long Yeyue replied firmly.

"I don't think I've ever wronged Shrek Academy. For its sake, I've endured countless humiliations. But you pushed me into the abyss and stripped me of my position as Sea God Pavilion Master. Don't you feel even a little guilty?" Yali asked again.

"You haven't wronged Shrek Academy? Ha!" Long Yeyue laughed coldly. "If not for your self-righteous kindness that kept Yun Ming from taking decisive action, would Shrek have ended up like this?"

She anticipated Yali's confrontation—and saw no fault in herself.

"Hmph. Damn Yali. If she wanted to confront me, she should've done it in private. Why make a scene on such an important day?" Long Yeyue sneered internally. If Yali hadn't left Devil Island, she wouldn't have had to fight so hard alone.

Now, Yali was embarrassing her again. She was filled with resentment.

"So that's what you really think?" Yali laughed self-deprecatingly and turned to Tang Wulin. "Wulin, do you think the same?"

"Mom, I know you've had it hard. But for the sake of Shrek, Sister Yue has had it even harder. Your kindness extends to everyone, but in Sister Yue's heart, there is only Shrek. She's not wrong," Tang Wulin said, gripping Long Yeyue's hand tightly. He was her husband now—he couldn't take Yali's side at their wedding.

"So… you also think I'm unfit to be Pavilion Master?" Yali asked with a bitter smile.

Tang Wulin lowered his head in silence. If he thought she was still qualified, he wouldn't have taken her place.

"I understand now." Tears welled up in Yali's eyes. She stared firmly at Long Yeyue and Tang Wulin. "In that case, let's part ways peacefully. I won't make things hard for you. Starting today, I am leaving Shrek Academy. All our past ties end here."

There was determination in her voice. Though Leng Yaozhu and her sisters influenced her earlier thoughts of leaving, now it was more about Long Yeyue and Tang Wulin's attitude.

Long Yeyue had almost killed her once.

If they had even a sliver of guilt, just a symbolic apology, Yali might have forgiven them.

But with this attitude, Yali was genuinely heartbroken.

The whole scene fell into silence. Tang Wulin was stunned—he hadn't expected Yali to leave Shrek and sever all ties with him.

Hadn't Long Yeyue promised him that, for Yun Ming's sake, Yali wouldn't leave?

Before Tang Wulin could respond, Yali had already turned and was walking away resolutely.

Long Yeyue wanted to rebuild Shrek Academy. Yali had wanted that too—she had constantly thought about how to rebuild it when she was Pavilion Master.

But now, she was finally free of that burden.

At this moment, she felt an unprecedented lightness.

"Yali!" Long Yeyue was the first to react, shouting. "Are you betraying Shrek Academy and Yun Ming?"

Yali was a quasi-god now and the only real pillar of Shrek's reputation. Her departure would be a massive blow to the Academy.

"It was Shrek that betrayed me. You forced me into this." Yali shook her head lightly and said, "Light and Darkness Douluo, take care of yourself. If you continue down this path, next time we meet… we may be enemies."

With that, Yali stepped forward and began to disappear.

"Holy Spirit Douluo, are you really going to do this?" Two figures suddenly descended from the sky, blocking her path.
