Chapter 25 - Chapter 25 A Green Hair

This was Mu Can's second time entering the altar, and the space inside the altar was very small.

In the middle there was a large jade stone carved with arrays, with four huge statues encircling it at the four cardinal directions.

The statues of the Azure Dragon, Vermilion Bird, Xuanwu, and White Tiger were vivid, almost as if they were about to come to life.

During the Wash Marrow and Remove Hair ceremony for the younger generation, one needed to sit atop the jade stone.

Once the array was activated, the four huge statues would gather the colossal spiritual energy accumulating outside.

At its peak, it could even form a layer of thick, mist-like spiritual energy above the jade stone.

It was by utilizing this spiritual energy, processed by the statues and harmless to the body, to wash the meridians and achieve the effect of Wash Marrow and Remove Hair.

If the Mu Family ancestor, Mu Xuan, was in closed-door cultivation inside the altar, then he would certainly be above the jade stone, breaking through bottlenecks with the help of a massive amount of spiritual energy.

But at this moment, not only was the array not activated, but there was also no one on the jade stone.

Looking around, Mu Can knew that it wasn't that the Mu Family ancestor did not care for the affairs of the Mu Family but that something had happened.

"Cloud Sister, can you make out anything wrong?" Mu Can looked around to no avail.

A surge of soul energy burst forth from Mu Can's Sea of Consciousness, rapidly filling the entire altar.

Mu Can only felt it ripple like visible ripples, filling the entire altar space.

It was Purple Cloud from within the Reincarnation Pearl using her soul power to investigate the situation inside the altar.

"Look, there seem to be characters on the jade stone." After a moment, as if retracting back into the body, Purple Cloud spoke to Mu Can.

Hearing Purple Cloud's words, Mu Can immediately hopped onto the jade stone.

He remembered the jade had always been smooth, and with the Cold Heart Jade material, even divine weapons would struggle to leave any trace on it.

Seeing the characters on the jade, Mu Can's breathing became rapid, and his face flushed red.

The smooth jade stone had been forcefully inscribed with two lines of large characters using finger strength.

"Descendants of the Mu Family, upon seeing these words, must not practice the Mu Family's Alchemy Technique, remember, remember. ------ Mu Xuan's last words."

The Mu Family ancestor, Mu Xuan, had actually died, and he vanished silently within the secret land of his own family.

Mu Can knew that not even a peak master of the Martial Venerate Realm from the Human World could enter the Mu Family's secret land and kill Mu Xuan so quietly.

Then there was only one possibility.

The Mu Family ancestor, Mu Xuan, was truly dead.

"Wait, kid, what is that?" Purple Cloud, still attentive to the outside situation from within the Reincarnation Pearl.

She had also seen the characters on the jade and noticed something on the stone.

Upon closer inspection, Mu Can discovered a green hair on the otherwise pale green jade.

He was about to pick up the green hair when his hand, before touching it, was controlled.

It was Purple Cloud who intervened, controlling Mu Can's arm.

"Don't move." Purple Cloud urgently cautioned. If it wasn't to stop Mu Can, Purple Cloud wouldn't control his body this way.

"What's wrong, Cloud Sister?" Mu Can also felt his actions were reckless and asked quickly.

"Don't touch it with your hands, let it stay there for now," Purple Cloud explained, then released her grip, and Mu Can regained control of his arm.

Purple Cloud thought within the Reincarnation Pearl; the green hair seemed to trigger some memory of hers.

But because her Spiritual Sense wasn't intact, she couldn't remember where she had seen such a hair.

"It's an omen, a bad omen, but why can't I remember?" Purple Cloud painfully covered her head.

"Ah." She howled to the heavens, and within the vast space of the Reincarnation Pearl, Purple Cloud's cry resonated far away.

Those souls absorbed into the Reincarnation Pearl also clutched their ears in pain, with some even falling to the ground, wailing in agony.

Mu Can felt a tremor in his Sea of Consciousness, as if Purple Cloud's rampant power moved the Reincarnation Pearl itself.

Feeling a sweetness in his throat, Mu Can spurted out a mouthful of blood, eyes rolling back as he fainted away.

Purple Cloud ran amok, disregarding the consequences, and even managed to affect Mu Can on the outside.

Mu Can collapsed in the center of the array, unaware that his blood had sprayed precisely onto the jade.

The blood seemed to be absorbed by the jade, merging into it after only a moment.

Strings of golden characters emerged from the jade, like mischievous little fish swimming around on the altar.

Lighting up the entire altar.

Characters fluttered aimlessly before congregating in the air to form a book.

This book seemed to have a will of its own and, seeing Mu Can lying unconscious, instantly entered his body.

It followed swiftly into Mu Can's Sea of Consciousness and was just about to settle there.

When it was suddenly sucked into a mysterious space by a tremendous force; its struggles were in vain,

and after a moment, it vanished within Mu Can's Sea of Consciousness.

It was the Reincarnation Pearl; the Reincarnation Pearl dominated Mu Can's Sea of Consciousness, not allowing anything to dare to usurp its place.

The mysterious golden book was thus absorbed by the Reincarnation Pearl.

As the book was absorbed, it appeared right above Purple Cloud who was in the midst of unconscious rage.

Instinctively, she caught the book, and Purple Cloud, who had her eyes tightly closed, now opened them.

The confusion in her eyes gradually faded, returning to calmness.

The entire layer of space, as if it had undergone a massive battle, was ravaged by immense power and left greatly scarred.

Yet strangely, the ruined environment slowly reverted to its original state.

After a moment, except for those whose souls were sucked into the Reincarnation Pearl and lay unconscious, the layer of space surprisingly returned to how it was.

Purple Cloud, as she regained consciousness and saw the book in her hand, widened her eyes.

Her brows lightly furrowed, she uttered with a look of disgust.

"How did this book end up here?"

Purple Cloud actually recognized this book.

Not only did she recognize it, but she had once owned it.

She sensed briefly and discovered Mu Can lying unconscious on the jade; Purple Cloud felt a bit embarrassed and stuck out her tongue.

A surge of Soul Power was released, slowly nourishing Mu Can's body.

Purple Cloud's earlier rampage had triggered the vibration of the Reincarnation Pearl, and the Sea of Consciousness is the most important place for a Cultivator.

Thus, Mu Can had fainted straight away.

The Immortal Venerable level Soul Power was gradually healing Mu Can's body.

With a slight movement of her fingers, Mu Can's eyes gently opened, and he got up.

But there was a moment of dullness in his eyes, appearing somewhat foolish.

"Wake up, wake up, kid, come on, wake up," called Purple Cloud with a smile.

"Sister Cloud, what happened to me?" Mu Can rubbed his somewhat sore head and asked.

"It's nothing, you might have eaten something wrong at lunch and felt a bit dizzy," Purple Cloud said blushingly.

She couldn't exactly tell Mu Can that she had gone berserk just now and shook him to the point of vomiting blood.

"Don't tease, Sister Cloud, I didn't even have lunch," Mu Can certainly didn't believe her and said so.

"Right, you fainted because you didn't eat and had no strength; alright, no more questions, get up, I've found something," Purple Cloud quickly changed the subject. If Mu Can knew she had caused him to vomit blood, he probably wouldn't talk to her for days.
