"Where are we going now? Outside?" After escaping from the room, Bernice pulled Xiaoya along and asked with a pale face.
She hadn't expected to face such an unexpected disaster while staying at Jiang Hai's place. Who could she turn to?
"No, there's a war outside. We… come with me." Afra, who had been running ahead, hesitated for a moment before gritting her teeth. She felt that she was the only one in this room who could help.
"Where are we going?" Hearing that Afra wasn't planning to go outside, Bernice was a little surprised but still followed her. This time, Afra didn't answer. Upon reaching the first floor, she ran straight into a warehouse.
To Bernice's and the others' surprise, a well-lit room appeared before them.
The room contained a toilet and a water supply system. Additionally, there was an iron cage with a woman locked inside. The woman was sitting on a bed, reading a book. When she saw them, she blinked in slight surprise.
"I was wondering why you didn't bring dinner tonight. What's going on?" The woman closed the book and smiled at Afra. However, her curiosity piqued as she noticed their panic.
The warehouse was too soundproof, so she hadn't heard anything from outside.
"Someone invaded the manor. If they catch us, it would be disastrous for Jiang Hai, so we need your help." Afra walked to the iron cage, looked at the woman, and spoke seriously.
"Who is she?" Bernice asked curiously, gently pulling on Darlene's sleeve from behind.
"An agent. Jiang Hai picked her up a while ago." Darlene replied, though she didn't know much about the woman. She had only heard Jiang Hai mention her occasionally, and she remembered him saying she was dangerous.
"Is it really okay to ask her for help? The fact that she's locked up here means she's very dangerous. She must be in a hostile relationship with you." Bernice couldn't help but voice her concerns anxiously.
If they were friends, would she really be locked up like this? And it seemed she'd been here for quite some time.
"Alright, it's up to you whether you trust me or not." As if she had heard Bernice's words, the woman slowly stood up and said something to Afra before glancing at Bernice provocatively. This woman was certainly intriguing.
"I trust you!" Bernice hesitated for a moment but decided they had no choice. She took out a key and opened the cage. As the door creaked open, the woman walked out.
"Huh, the feeling of freedom... I don't feel anything." The woman stretched, smiled, and then, with lightning speed, elbowed Afra. Her move was so fast that Afra couldn't react in time.
Just as she regretted it and felt she had let a wolf into the house, the woman's elbow stopped just shy of her forehead.
"I'm just messing with you. I'm very happy here. Thanks for your care." Seeing Afra's reaction, the woman chuckled, pulled her elbow back, and gently patted Afra's head as she walked out of the warehouse.
When she exited the warehouse, the others caught up with her. But before they could react, they had already opened fire.
Unfortunately for them, Azarina Vicarborio, the woman they faced, was no ordinary person. Her reflexes were faster than theirs, and she immediately stepped back to avoid their bullets.
She grabbed a few plates that had been left nearby and began counting in her mind.
"One, two, three..." Despite a quick glance earlier, she had already memorized the models of the weapons they were using. A Glock 18 with only a basic 17-round magazine meant there were limited bullets.
She simply needed to count the shots. She used to do this kind of work often.
When she counted to thirteen, she darted forward like a ghost. The three attackers immediately turned their guns toward her, opening fire, but Azarina was far from ordinary. Well-fed and well-rested, she was in better physical condition than when she fought Jiang Hai.
Not only did she duck to avoid the first round of bullets, but before the second round could arrive, her feet were already pushing off the opposite wall. She flipped over to avoid the second wave and dropped low to dodge the third.
Then, just as the firing pin clicked in the air, indicating an empty chamber, Azarina grinned. She hurled the three plates at the attackers' wrists, striking them with such force that they dropped their guns immediately.
With lightning speed, Azarina appeared in front of them. She leaped high and, with a knee strike, knocked the man in the middle to the left, sending him crashing down, dragging the other man with him.
The man on the right hesitated, but as soon as he took a step forward, Azarina wasn't idle in the air. She stepped off the wall, used her momentum to deliver a devastating whip kick to his face.
In an instant, the man's vision went blurry, and he crumpled to the floor.
Now, only one man remained, just starting to get up. Azarina wasted no time. She spun behind him and, using her body to twist, snapped his neck with a quick twist.
The entire exchange—Azarina exiting the warehouse and taking down the three men—took less than five seconds.
Afra and the others inside only heard a burst of noise before everything went silent.
"It's done. They were just some low-level thugs." After checking the situation of the three men, two were dead, while the one who had been knocked out still showed signs of life. Azarina reported to Afra, then took their guns, reloaded the magazines, and prepared herself.
"Any more enemies?" Azarina looked at Afra and asked seriously.
"There are some outside and above." Afra nodded, responding seriously.
"Don't move!" Just as her words fell, a sound reached Azarina's ears.
She quickly aimed her gun at the stairs, where a long gun appeared from above. Both sides froze for a moment before the gun was lowered, revealing Bell-Lester's face.
Bell and Azarina had met before, and it was actually because of him that she was here.
"All done?" Bell looked at the three downed men and let out a relieved sigh.
"Yeah. What about upstairs?" Azarina asked, putting away her gun.
"It's handled, but there are still many people outside. If you're free, please deal with them." Bell lowered his gun, deciding to trust Azarina for now. He looked at Afra and the others and added, "By the way, there's another big guy upstairs. You're a doctor, right? Go check on him. He's one of our group."
With that, Bell ran upstairs quickly. He was heading to the rooftop to continue blocking their enemies.
Earlier, he had seen the final confrontation between the one-eyed man and the big guy. He had instinctively shot and killed the one-eyed man. The big guy, after talking about saving the other girls, had fainted after being hit by more than ten bullets. Though none had struck vital areas, it was a miracle he hadn't passed out sooner.
"Oh? Ah!" Bernice was stunned for a moment after hearing Bell's words. She realized that if not for the big guy earlier, they would have all been dead. So, when she heard the big guy upstairs was in trouble, she knew she had to help. She rushed upstairs.
Seeing the big guy who had lost too much blood and was in shock, everyone got to work.
Fortunately, Jiang Hai took good care of himself. Though he couldn't undergo surgery, he had almost every kind of medicine on hand, so it was possible to stabilize him temporarily. Once they dealt with the enemies outside, they could airlift him to the hospital for treatment.
Meanwhile, Azarina, who had followed to the second floor, marveled at Jiang Hai's villa. It was impressive.
Bell, on the other hand, quickly reached the rooftop. As he arrived, he saw Jiang Hai and his men taking cover behind cars, exchanging gunfire with the attackers.
The attackers seemed overly confident and weren't pressing forward—this was their opportunity.
