My heart pounded so hard in my chest, I thought it was going to burst out of my chest. It's been a while I was this close to a man, if you exclude Dream and...Faelan.
"Fine, let's go the Arcade"
I drew back pretending to find the seatbelt. Very bad escape route.
He leaned forward, his left hand brushing the soft fabric of my pants. It was that scent again. Like I was at the beach, my toes in the sand and small waves crashing against my feet. All my nervousness vanished at that moment
"Elora, if you feel uncomfortable please tell me"
He leaned back into his seat when I didn't give him a response. The car steered to life with a low rumble, the city's light flashed and blinked as we made our way...back to the Whale Train Station.
I felt a bit sad, I made this feel like a waste of time.
Iun parked outside the station, I hesitantly got out. We both walked to the platform. Tiny chompers hopped in out of the tracks.
An announcement about the incoming train and a precautionary message echoed throughout the station. Beside me stood Iun. He was staring at me the entire time.
Eh?
The platform rumbled as the whale train rolled onto the tracks. Water and a few ocean breathers splashed unto a barrier that closed as soon as there was no more water on it.
I glanced back the Iun, he had one hand in his pocket and the other held a brown folder.
"Today was short but it was nice to me..."
"I'm sorry...it's just...it's been a while I've been on you know...dates"
The edges of his lips curled up
"You think it's a date?"
I nodded slowly
"I'm glad"
He handed the brown folder to me
"Here"
I didn't know what to do so I stepped out of the train to hug him "Thank you"
I quickly stepped back before the doors slammed shut.
I watched his stunned face disappear through the watery windows
