Feeling his presence, Harmony once again opened her eyes.
She frowned, "Did you bring your whole apartment?"
"I brought some meals I had prepared. You have not eaten properly, so let me borrow your cookware. I will reheat these, then you can start eating."
He took out some lunch boxes.
Harmony did not bother stopping him. He was already here, and she felt too lethargic to even try and stop him.
She tried turning on the lights but to no avail. It was only now she realized that the power was out.
She instead sat on her bed while looking at her phone. She couldn't help but sigh deeply, seeing as it was already below fifty percent.
She also only tried charging the power bank early this morning, not even realizing that the power went out.
'And the typhoon doesn't seem like it will be stopping soon. This is bad,' she thought.
"I have no plans on opening the curt-"
She blinked when Shawn suddenly put his own headphones on her, and she could hear the music playing loudly, drowning the pouring rain.
She looked at him with confusion. He, in turn, smiled and placed the MP3 in her hands.
Then he mouthed and gestured for her to wait for him.
She blankly watched him as he walked back to the kitchen while also turning on an emergency light, giving brightness to the dark room.
She looked back down at the MP3.
Still feeling lost, she chose to tinker with her phone to keep it at its most optimal mode in order for her to still receive messages and calls.
And seeing that there were no notifications, she sighed. The typhoon was countrywide but as obvious as it was, there was no contact from them.
'Maybe they'll message me when they need something important.'
With that thought, she laid back down, not minding that someone was moving around her kitchen.
Not like she didn't do this before in his place. Though his place had a separate bedroom, so moving around wasn't awkward.
'I am too tired to even feel awkward at this point.'
She closed her eyes and found herself drifting to sleep.
Shawn glanced back at her and noticed that she had fallen asleep.
He peeked through the curtain and saw that the rain didn't seem like it wanted to stop. Even the lightning and thunder would come frequently.
He closed it again and looked at her sleeping face.
From the first time she pulled him in and all her demeanors after that, he had an inkling that she must have feared something from this typhoon.
Thinking back, when she pulled him in, a flash of lightning came followed by thunder.
He watched her close her eyes with furrowed brows, while her hands trembled as she hugged herself.
It was a defense mechanism on her part from something that she feared.
That is why, while packing, he also took his MP3, which he barely used but was always fully charged.
Along with it were a few things he would use after talking with her later on.
'It seems you are scared of lightning and thunder,' he thought.
After a few minutes, he had prepared a simple meal. Then he decided to wake her up.
Harmony looked at him and was about to remove the headphones when Shawn stopped her and gestured toward the dining table where the food was prepared.
"You don't have to stop me from removing it," Harmony spoke.
Shawn shook his head before pointing at her window.
Harmony sighed, "You seem to have realized something. But I am fine, I mean right now I will be fine even without it."
Shawn tilted his head to the side.
Harmony removed the headphones before walking over to the dining table.
"You… are here. So I will be fine," she said after sitting down.
"Oh," Shawn reacted before following her.
He had prepared a meal for the two of them since it was already past lunch.
"Last year, December, there was also a typhoon. The reason for your health is because of it. Isn't it?" he asked as they started eating.
"Since you have already seen it anyway, that is indeed the case. I am scared of lightning and thunder. Laughable, isn't it?" she smiled in a self-deprecating manner.
"Why is it that when you show weakness, you are incorporating it with such a self-deprecating smile and speech?" Shawn frowned, he did not like the look she has as if she shouldn't have it at all.
Harmony opened her lips only to flinch when thunder roared stronger.
"Allow me this much," she chuckled bitterly.
Shawn was even more bewildered.
"I was never allowed to have any weakness," she said before she continued eating in silence.
Shawn decided not to pry any further since she had confirmed his thought that she seemed like she must not have it at all.
And for her to speak about this to him, of all people, he should stop at it because it must have already been her limit. And also due to her current weakness.
Once they were done eating, Harmony got up to do the dishes.
"I'll do it. You should rest more. Despite having such small light, I can still tell that you are seriously pale at this moment," Shawn stopped her.
"…"
"And, allow me to sleep here."
Harmony instantly frowned.
"Don't argue anymore. You already said it, I am here, and that is why you will be fine. Then let me stay here at least until the typhoon subsides. The news said it would be tomorrow afternoon that it will leave the country."
Harmony wanted to argue but…
Despite wanting to act strong, she is truly tired, and the lack of power is causing her more stress. If this keeps up, she'd surely fall sick.
And she cannot do that right now. She has a lot of things to do in a few days, whether the typhoon would subside or not.
"Where will you sleep?" she finally asked.
