Angelica looked around the room. Two guards were still present. It confirmed her suspicions. This woman did not want to be left alone with either her or her mother.
A few moments later the guard that had left earlier returned with small chest in hand.
As soon as Taryn's eyes glanced on the chest, her demeanour changed instantly.
"As you asked for my queen." the guard said bowing, he set it down before her on the table.
"Thank you, now leave, all of you." she said sharply, as if she was chasing them all away.
This sudden change of events surprised Angelica, she had a feeling that something unpleasant was to happen. However, she kept herself calm, ready and prepared for whatever that may be.
It did not take the final three guards long to exit the room. They left instantly, closing the door shut behind them.
"Now that we are no longer in the midst of strangers." Taryn turned to her with a smile. She placed her teacup and the saucer on the table in front of her.
