Chapter 122 - sleep well

A few weeks later, Father Belly is now flat, and he can continue spending time with me.

I chuckled at the sight of Father's flat belly, a stark contrast to the rounded shape I had grown accustomed to. "You look like your old self again, Father," I said, grinning.

Father smiled, his eyes sparkling with amusement. "And I'm feeling like my old self, too. Ready to take on the world... or at least, spend some quality time with my favorite son."

I playfully rolled my eyes at the jab, but couldn't help feeling happy to have Father back to his usual self. "So, what do you want to do today?" I asked, eager to spend time with him.

Father grabbed me and tossed me into the air and caught me and tossed me again.

I laughed, feeling carefree and joyful as Father tossed me into the air again and again. "Wheeee!" I exclaimed, my wings fluttering wildly as I soared upwards.

Father's laughter echoed mine, and he caught me mid-air, spinning me around before setting me back down on the ground. "You're still as light as a feather, Tharros!" he said, grinning.

I grinned back, feeling happy and playful. "Let's do it again!" I exclaimed, and Father chuckled, obliging me with another toss into the air.

As we played, our laughter and shouts filled the air. Father tossed me into the air again, and I soared upwards, my wings fluttering wildly. "Wheeee!" I exclaimed, feeling carefree and joyful.

Father caught me mid-air, spinning me around before setting me back down on the ground. "You're still as light as a feather, Tharros!" he said, grinning.

I grinned back, feeling happy and playful. "Let's do it again!" I exclaimed, and Father chuckled, obliging me with another toss into the air.

As we continued to play, Father smiled, his eyes shining with happiness. "There's no better way to spend the day than with my son, making memories that will last a lifetime."

Father finished tossed me to the air, and he please me down gently when he is done placing me. I rubbed my head on his front right leg.

Father chuckled and gently scratched behind my ears, his claws gentle on my scales. "I'm glad you're enjoying it, Tharros," he said, his voice filled with warmth.

I leaned into his touch, feeling content and happy. For a moment, everything else faded away, and all that mattered was the time I was spending with Father.

As we stood there, Father wrapped a claw around me, holding me close. "Love you, kiddo," he whispered.

I giggled. "Father stopped scratched my wolf-fox like ears! They are very sensitive by touch!"

Father laughed and obliged, gently scratching behind my ears again. "Ah, sorry about that! I forgot how ticklish your ears are," he said with a grin.

I let out a happy sigh, my eyes half-closing in bliss. "That's perfect, Father. You're the best."

Father smiled, continuing to scratch behind my ears, enjoying the moment of bonding with me.

As the scratching continued, I leaned into Father's touch, feeling relaxed and content. The warmth of the sun on my scales and the gentle scratching behind my ears were the perfect combination.

Father's smile grew wider as he watched me enjoy the moment. "I'm glad I can still make you happy, Tharros," he said, his voice filled with affection.

I smiled back, my eyes still half-closed. "You always make me happy, Father."

Father's smile softened, and he leaned in to nuzzle me gently. "I'm grateful for that, Tharros. You're growing up to be a fine young dragon."

I smiled and nuzzled him back, enjoying the quiet moment together.

The warmth and comfort of the moment lingered, a perfect ending to our playful afternoon.

As we stood there, wrapped in the warmth of the moment, Father's voice dropped to a gentle rumble. "I'm proud of the dragon you're becoming, Tharros. Strong, kind, and true to yourself."

I felt a surge of happiness and contentment, knowing that Father believed in me. I nuzzled him again, grateful for the love and support he always provided.

Father's words lingered in my mind, filling me with a sense of pride and purpose. I leaned against him, feeling the warmth of his scales and the gentle hum of his voice.

"Let's head back to the nest," Father suggested, his voice still soft and gentle. "Your mother will be waiting with dinner, and your siblings will be eager to hear about our afternoon."

I nodded, already looking forward to seeing my family and sharing stories of our adventure. Together, Father and I took to the skies, soaring towards the nest and the warmth of our family's company.

As we flew, the wind ruffled my scales, and the sun cast a warm glow over the landscape. I felt free and alive, with Father by my side.

We swooped down towards the nest, and I could see Mother waiting for us, a warm smile on her face. The younger siblings were gathered around her, their eyes shining with excitement.

"Welcome back, Tharros! Welcome back, Aetherius!" Mother called out, her voice filled with warmth. "Dinner is ready, and we can't wait to hear about your adventure."

Father smiled. "Don't worry, I will eat later!" Mother, look at Father."What so you can go out and overeat again and again!" Aetherius!" She said in anger.

Father chuckled and held up his claws in a defensive gesture. "Ah, Thyriatrix, don't be like that. I just enjoy a good hunt every now and then."

Mother's expression didn't soften. "Enjoy a good hunt? You call overeating and getting food all over the place enjoyable?"

I watched the exchange with amusement, knowing that this was a familiar argument between my parents. Father's love for hunting and Mother's practicality often clashed, but their affection for each other always shone through in the end.

Mother, take a deep breath to calm down, "and get yourself fatten up again and again."

Father's grin faltered for a moment before he chuckled and said, "Ah, Thyriatrix, you're worried about my figure, aren't you?"

Mother's eyes narrowed. "It's not about your figure, Aetherius. It's about your health and the mess you make when you overeat."

Father's expression turned sheepish, and he wrapped his claws around Mother, pulling her close. "I'll try to be more mindful, my love. For you, if not for myself."

Father smiled, "and beside you know that the food doesn't turn into fat, most of them turn into muscle and you and I are the only one who knows how it work!" Father teasing mother a bit.

Mother's expression softened, and she playfully pushed Father away. "You're still impossible, Aetherius."

Father's smile remained, and he leaned in to nuzzle Mother's cheek again. "That's what makes life with me so interesting, my love."

The banter between them was familiar and warm, and I smiled, enjoying the lighthearted moment between my parents.

Father, look at me and my siblings "Alright food is right there, and I will go to eat something. Bye!" Father flew off from the distance.

Mother looks angry and yelled "Oh no! Get back over here!" She followed Father and me and my siblings are left alone.

We watched as our parents chased after each other, their laughter and shouts filling the air. Lyriath grinned mischievously. "Looks like it's just us again."

Vyraxys chuckled. "Let's get started on dinner without them. I'm starving!"

The others nodded in agreement, and we began to dig in, enjoying the food and each other's company while our parents continued their playful chase.

As we ate, Nyxoria asked, "Do you think Father will bring back more food?"

Lyrixa giggled. "If Mother catches him, he might be too tired to bring anything."

Kaidorix chuckled. "I bet Father will find a way to sneak some back in."

Kieraxys, who was sitting on the edge of the group, suddenly piped up, "I want to play chase with them!"

Niamon, who was playing with a nearby rock, looked up and cooed in agreement.

I laughed "guys let be real, Father, most of the hunt always came back after overeating himself!"

The others burst into laughter at my comment. Lyriath chuckled, "Yeah, and Mother always gives him that look."

Vyraxys snorted. "The 'I'm disappointed in you, Aetherius' look."

We all laughed, mimicking Mother's stern expression, and the tension was broken. It was clear that Father's antics were a familiar and entertaining topic for us.

Lyriath, look at me. "So now what Tharros? Since you are the oldest, what will we do?"

I look at Lyriath hesitated "Well uhh I don't know!"

Lyriath's question caught me off guard, and I felt a moment of uncertainty. I looked around at my siblings, who were all waiting for me to come up with something.

I took a deep breath and shrugged. "How about we play a game? We could have a flying competition or play hide-and-seek in the caves?"

The others perked up at the suggestions, and Vyraxys grinned. "Flying competition sounds like fun! Let's see who can do the most tricks!"

I look outside "at this late at night?!" I said.

Lyriath nodded in agreement. "Yeah, it's getting dark. Maybe a flying competition isn't the best idea."

Nyxoria suggested, "How about we tell stories instead? We could share our favorite memories or make up new ones."

The others seemed to like that idea, and Lyrixa said, "I have a great story about the time Father tried to fly with a giant fish in his claws!"

The others laughed at Lyrixa's suggestion, and Vyraxys asked, "Which time? The one where he ended up doing a belly flop in the lake?"

We all burst into laughter, remembering the story. I smiled, feeling happy to share in the memories with my siblings.

Kaidorix said, "Okay, Lyrixa, you start. Tell us the story!"

Lyrixa settled in, a mischievous glint in her eye. "Okay, so Father was trying to impress Mother with his hunting skills..."

I look down. "You know that was some time when Kieraxys and Niamon egg wasn't laid yet, and when was that happened again?"

The others thought for a moment, and then Lyriath said, "I think it was before Kieraxys hatched, so Niamon wasn't even an egg yet."

Vyraxys nodded. "Yeah, that makes sense. Kieraxys is still pretty young, and Niamon is even younger."

Nyxoria added, "So, it's been a few years since Father's giant fish incident."

I smiled, remembering the story fondly. "Yeah, it's a good thing Father has a good sense of humor about it."

I look at Lyriath, "and also, wasn't we like 3 years old when Kieraxys hatch?" Lyriath to Kaidorix nodded.

Kaidorix nodded in agreement. "Yeah, I think that's right. Kieraxys was a surprise for all of us, and we were all excited to meet the new addition to the family."

Lyriath added, "And Niamon came along a few years after that, so it's been a while since we've had a quiet nest."

The others chuckled, and I smiled, thinking about how much our family had grown and changed over the years.

Kieraxys question "Ok let's begin the story no more talking about my hatch!"

We all laughed at Kieraxys' demand. Lyrixa grinned and began the story, "Okay, okay! So, Father was trying to impress Mother with his hunting skills, and he caught a giant fish..."

Kieraxys settled in, his eyes wide with excitement, and Niamon babbled happily, enjoying the attention.

"...and he caught a giant fish," Lyrixa continued, "but it was so big and slippery that it kept flopping out of his claws."

We all giggled at the image of Father struggling with the fish. "So, Father decided to try and fly with it to show Mother his prize," Lyrixa said, her voice filled with amusement.

Vyraxys chimed in, "But he didn't quite make it, did he?"

Lyrixa grinned mischievously. "Nope! He ended up doing a belly flop in the lake, and the fish went flying out of his claws."

We all burst into laughter, imagining Father's embarrassed expression. Kieraxys laughed so hard that he fell over onto his side, and Niamon joined in, babbling and giggling.

As we laughed, I couldn't help but think that this was one of my favorite family stories. It was a reminder that even our parents weren't perfect, and that it was okay to make mistakes.

I look at Kieraxys, "and by the way, he was about somewhere 70-meter tall at that time, so it was a big splash!"

Kieraxys' eyes widened even further. "Whoa, that's huge! No wonder it made a big splash!"

The others chuckled, and Lyriath added, "Yeah, and Mother was laughing so hard she had tears in her eyes."

Nyxoria giggled. "I bet Father was pretty embarrassed, but he took it like a champ."

We all laughed again, enjoying the memory of Father's mishap.

Lyriath teasing "and let don't forget Tharros got overwhelmed by it and wanted to hide under Father wing as we all know it his safe heaven!"

The others burst into laughter at Lyriath's teasing, and I felt my face warm up with embarrassment. "Hey, that was just one time, okay?"

Lyriath chuckled. "Oh, come on, Tharros, it's a funny story. You're just mad because it's true."

I rolled my eyes good-naturedly. "I'm not mad, I'm just... nostalgic."

The others laughed even harder, and Kieraxys chimed in, "Tell us more about Tharros hiding under Father's wing!"

Lyriath giggled "well I don't remember when he started hiding under Father Wing, but based on Father and Mother's word, it was about Tharros to Kaidorix was 1 day old!" Kieraxys and Niamon look in shock.

Kieraxys' eyes widened in surprise, his gaze fixed on me with a mixture of amusement and curiosity.

"Whoa, really?!" Kieraxys exclaimed. "You were hiding under Father's wing when you were just one day old?"

Niamon looked at me with interest, her expression reflecting Kieraxys' curiosity.

I chuckled and shook my head, a hint of embarrassment creeping into my voice. "Well, I don't remember it, but I guess it's true."

Lyriath grinned mischievously, her eyes sparkling with amusement. "Yeah, you're just a big softie, Tharros."

The others laughed, their voices filling the air as they teased me good-naturedly.

I playfully nudged Lyriath with my snout, trying to deflect the attention. "Shut up, Lyriath."

Lyriath chuckled, her laughter blending with the others as we continued to share stories and memories.

As we laughed and joked, our bond grew stronger, our relationships deepening as we relived happy moments from our past.

The warmth of the moment enveloped us, a sense of togetherness and belonging that only came from sharing laughter and stories with those we loved.

The atmosphere was filled with warmth and laughter, our family bond growing stronger with each passing moment.

As we continued to share stories, Lyrixa spoke up, "Hey, remember that time we all went on a hunting trip together?"

Vyraxys' eyes lit up. "Oh yeah! And Father ended up catching a giant squid instead of fish?"

We all burst into laughter again, the memories flooding back.

Kaidorix chuckled. "And then he tried to ride it like a mount?"

The laughter grew louder, our bellies aching from the shared amusement.

In this moment, we weren't just siblings; we were a family united by love, laughter, and memories.

I sighed "alright time for sleep, you all on the nesting ground while I wait Mother and Father to return!" They all nodded.

The others began to settle in, their eyes growing heavy as they nestled into their favorite spots on the nesting ground.

Kieraxys yawned, snuggling up close to Lyrixa. "Night, everyone."

Niamon murmured softly, already half asleep in Kaidorix's wing.

As the others drifted off, I stood watch, gazing out into the darkness, waiting for Mother and Father to return.

The night air was filled with the sounds of crickets and the distant hooting of owls, a soothing melody that seemed to lull the others into deeper sleep.

I smiled softly, feeling a sense of responsibility and love for my family as I kept watch over them.

As hours passed and no signs of them and I waited and waited, and I waited until the next day in the morning.

The sun began to rise, casting a warm glow over the nesting ground. The others stirred, stretching their wings and yawning.

Kieraxys rubbed his eyes. "Where are Mother and Father?"

I frowned, concern etched on my face. "I don't know, I was waiting for them to return, but they haven't come back yet."

Lyriath stood up, her expression serious. "Maybe we should go look for them?"

The others nodded in agreement, and I hesitated for a moment before making a decision. "Let's go. We'll search for them and see if we can find out what's keeping them."

The we heard Mother voices "Aetherius I swear we been gone the rest of the night if 1 of our little ones dies it all your fault!" And a loud roar came after it.

And we also heard Father voices "Oh come on Thyriatrix, I'm sure they are fine! Tharros is a strong boy he can dealing keep his siblings safe!"

We all breathed a sigh of relief as we heard Mother's and Father's voices, their argument fading into the distance as they approached the nesting ground.

Kieraxys grinned. "Sounds like they're back."

Lyriath rolled her eyes. "And they're arguing again."

I chuckled, shaking my head. "Typical."

As they came into view, Mother's wings were fluttering agitatedly, while Father was trying to calm her down with a gentle expression.

When they saw us, Mother's face softened, and she rushed over to nuzzle us. "My babies! I'm so sorry we were gone for so long. We were worried sick about you."

Father smiled, his eyes crinkling at the corners. "See, I told you they'd be fine, Thyriatrix."

Father noticed I didn't sleep. "Did you not sleep tonight?" I shook my head "No you know yourself. I feel safer under your wing!" I gave a force smiled.

Father's expression turned serious, and he wrapped his wing around me, pulling me close. "Ah, Tharros, you should have woken one of us. You don't have to stand watch all night by yourself."

Mother looked at me with concern, her eyes softening. "Yes, dear, you're not alone. We're here to take care of you and the others."

I leaned into Father's warmth, feeling a mix of relief and exhaustion. "I know, Father. I just... wanted to make sure everyone was safe."

Father's wing enveloped me, and I felt his gentle rumble of a growled. "We'll take care of each other, okay?"

Mother looks at Father. "If only that, your father didn't run and flew to overeat again last night, and let just say why it took this long for us to return is because your father can't move by the weight of his body if you know what I mean?!"

The others burst into laughter at Mother's words, and I couldn't help but join in.

Kieraxys giggled. "Oh no, Father's eating habits again!"

Lyriath chuckled. "I swear, he's got a bottomless stomach."

Father's face turned bright red as he looked at us with a sheepish grin. "Well, I just love food, okay? And it's not that bad... this time."

Mother raised an eyebrow, her expression skeptical. "Really? Because I seem to recall having to roll you back to the nest last night."

The others laughed even harder, and Father's face grew even redder as he looked at us with a mixture of embarrassment and amusement.

Pov Aetherius

As I wrapped my wing around Tharros, he snuggled in close, feeling safe and protected. The warmth of my wing seemed to envelop him, and he let out a contented sigh.

Tharros's eyes began to droop, the exhaustion from his sleepless night catching up to him. I gently stroked his scales with my claw, feeling a sense of peace wash over me.

The others continued to chuckle and tease me good-naturedly, but I just smiled, happy to have my family around me. Tharros, however, was already drifting off to sleep, his breathing slowing as he rested his head against my chest.

I looked down at him, feeling a surge of love and protectiveness. My little one was finally getting the rest he needed, and I was grateful to be there for him.

As Tharros fell deeper into sleep, the others began to settle down as well, their laughter and teasing fading into gentle murmurs and soft yawns. The nest grew quiet, filled with the soothing sounds of sleeping dragons.

I smiled, feeling grateful for this moment with my family. Tharros was safe, and he was mine to protect. I would always be there for him, watching over him and keeping him safe.

Lyriath look up at Thyriatrix "Mother can we play outside the mountain cave?"

Thyriatrix nodded and looked at me. "Stay here and keep your wing wrapped around Tharros!"

I nodded, smiling slightly as I watched Thyriatrix give me a stern look. "Don't worry, I'll keep an eye on Tharros," I assured her, my wing tightening around our sleeping son.

Thyriatrix smiled, seeming to relax a bit. "Good. I'll take the others outside for some fresh air and exercise. We'll be back soon."

As she led the others out of the cave, the sound of their laughter and playful shouts echoed off the walls. I watched them go, feeling a sense of contentment wash over me.

With Tharros safe in my wing, I closed my eyes, listening to the sounds of the cave and the distant calls of my family. The peacefulness of the moment was soothing, and I let out a gentle sigh, feeling my own eyelids growing heavy.

I lay my body to the ground and smiled. "No matter desgeous thongs are! I'll always protect my little boy!"

As I lay there, Tharros still safely tucked under my wing, I felt a sense of determination and love. My little one was safe, and I would do everything in my power to keep him that way.

The warmth of the sunbeam streaming into the cave and the gentle rise and fall of Tharros's chest as he slept lulled me into a state of relaxation.

I smiled to myself, feeling grateful for this moment of peace with my family nearby. My wing wrapped protectively around Tharros, I drifted off into a light doze, ready to spring into action at a moment's notice.

Time passed, and the cave grew quieter, the only sound the gentle hum of Tharros's breathing and the distant chirping of birds outside. My body relaxed further, my muscles releasing their tension as I let myself drift into a peaceful slumber.

Suddenly, a faint rustling sound echoed through the cave, followed by the soft padding of footsteps. I instinctively tightened my wing around Tharros, my eyes snapping open to alertness.

The sound grew louder, and I saw Thyriatrix walking back into the cave, a gentle smile on her face. She approached us quietly, her eyes softening as she saw Tharros sleeping under my wing.

"Looks like someone's finally getting some rest," she whispered, her voice barely above a whisper. "You should get some rest too, Aetherius. You look like you could use it."

I sighed. "He is still sleeping, so I have to stay here a bit longer!"

Thyriatrix gave me a grin. "That what you get for ran and flew and overeating yourself and me and you didn't come back until this morning! That Tharros can't sleep without your company!"

I chuckled, feeling a bit sheepish. "You're enjoying this, aren't you?" I said, smiling wryly.

Thyriatrix's grin grew wider. "Maybe a little. But someone has to keep you in line." She settled down beside us, her eyes softening as she looked at Tharros. "He's a good boy, looking out for his family like that."

I nodded, feeling a surge of pride and love for our son. "He's a great kid. And I'm lucky to have you to keep me in check."

Thyriatrix teasing, "and you can't keep your weight in check!"

I rolled my eyes good-naturedly, chuckling at Thyriatrix's jab. "Hey, that's not fair. I'm a growing dragon, okay?"

Thyriatrix laughed, her eyes sparkling with amusement. "Growing? You're not growing, you're expanding. In all directions."

I playfully nudged her with my elbow, grinning. "You're just jealous because you can't keep up with my appetite."

A few minutes later, the rest of our hatchlings return "Ah there you are, you little ones can stay in the nest area. I will be downstairs inside of the mountain!"

She left me to look after them and keep my wing wrapped around Tharros while he is sleeping.

I sighed. "Look like I have to deal with you all, so don't get our of my sight alright!"

The little ones looked up at me with big eyes, nodding in unison. Lyriath, Vyraxys, Nyxoria, Lyrixa, Kaidorix, Kieraxys, and Niamon all settled down around me, some of them climbing onto my scales or snuggling up close.

Kieraxys, being the energetic 4-year-old that he is, started to climb onto my back, giggling as he settled into the crook of my neck. "I'll ride on Father's back!" he exclaimed.

Kaidorix and Lyrixa started to playfully argue over who got to sit closest to Tharros, while Nyxoria and Lyriath started to quietly play with some rocks nearby. Niamon, being the youngest, simply giggled and babbled happily, trying to get my attention.

I smiled, watching my little ones play and keeping a gentle eye on them as they frolicked around me. My wing remained wrapped protectively around Tharros, who continued to sleep peacefully.

I sighed "Thyriatrix how long will you be back!" But hours passed, and she didn't come back upstairs of the inside the mountain cave.

I grew a bit concerned, wondering where Thyriatrix had gotten to. The hours ticked by, and the little ones began to get restless, their energy levels flagging as they played and bickered among themselves.

Tharros, still sleeping under my wing, remained blissfully unaware of the passing time. I kept a close eye on him, making sure he was safe and comfortable.

As the silence from Thyriatrix stretched on, I started to wonder if something had come up that was keeping her away for longer than expected. I tried to stay patient, but my mind began to wander, imagining all sorts of possibilities.

A few minutes later, Thyriatrix return "so how was it looking after them for hours?" She said.

I gave her a mock-exasperated look. "Hours? You were gone for hours? I thought you said you'd be back soon!"

Thyriatrix chuckled, her eyes sparkling with amusement. "Sorry, dear. Time got away from me. But it looks like you survived just fine."

I raised an eyebrow, shaking my head. "Survived? I'm not sure if that's the right word. I think I might need a few days of rest after dealing with all of these little ones."

Thyriatrix laughed, coming over to give me a gentle nuzzle. "You're a natural, Aetherius. You did great."

I smiled slightly, feeling a bit mollified by her gentle touch. "I'm not sure if 'natural' is the right word, but I'll take the compliment."

Thyriatrix smiled back, her eyes crinkling at the corners. "You have a way with the little ones. They adore you."

I glanced down at the hatchlings, who were all watching us with interest. "They're a handful, but I love them to bits."

Thyriatrix nodded, her expression softening. "I know you do. And they love you just as much." She looked down at Tharros, still sleeping under my wing. "How's our big boy doing?"

I smiled, feeling a surge of affection for our eldest son. "He's been sleeping like a rock. I think he was really exhausted."

Thyriatrix chuckled. "I mean, he didn't sleep last night because you weren't company him to sleep!"

I chuckled, feeling a bit sheepish. "Ah, yeah. I guess I'm to blame for that. But I'm making up for it now, aren't I?"

Thyriatrix smiled, her eyes sparkling with amusement. "You're trying, dear. But I think you still owe him one for abandoning him for your midnight snacking adventure."

I grinned, knowing I was in trouble. "Hey, it was worth it for those delicious berries!" 1 hour later, Tharros had finally woke up.

As Tharros stretched his 10-meter tall frame, his silver scales glistened in the soft light of the cave. He looked up at me with sleepy eyes, and I smiled, happy to see him awake and refreshed.

"Hey, big guy," I said, gently ruffling his scales with my claw. "Sleep well?"

Tharros yawned, arching his neck. "Yeah... I guess I did. Thanks for keeping me company, Father."

I smiled, feeling a warmth in my chest. "Anytime, Tharros. That's what fathers are for." The other hatchlings gathered around, excited to see their big brother awake and ready to play.

The cave erupted into a flurry of activity as the younger hatchlings swarmed around Tharros, eager to play and get his attention. Lyriath and Vyraxys started to tease him good-naturedly, while Nyxoria and Lyrixa asked him to play a game of hide-and-seek.

Kaidorix and Kieraxys tried to climb up Tharros's legs, laughing and shouting as they attempted to reach the top of his towering frame. Niamon, the youngest, simply giggled and reached out to Tharros, wanting to be picked up and cuddled.

Thyriatrix and I watched with smiles, happy to see our little family so full of joy and energy. "It's good to see everyone getting along," Thyriatrix said, nudging me gently.

I nodded, wrapping my wing around her. "Yeah, it's moments like these that make all the chaos worth it."

As the hatchlings continued to play and laugh together, the cave filled with the warm and loving sounds of family. And with that, the day went on, filled with adventure and love.
