The creature continued to draw closer and closer to Hagan no matter how fast or far he ran. It seemed as if it was hunting him down to feast on him.
Suddenly, another roar tore through the world, and a massive silhouette appeared above the tree line. It had 4 wings which flapped with a power of their own which could knock down any tree beneath them. A long, scaley neck gave way to a head that had 2 horns protruding from above its sharp, firery orange eyes. It's belly seemed to give off a faint orange glow, presumably housing its infernal flame. It's four legs dangled below, searing the tree tops it flew over. The rear legs had 4 long talons while the front had shorter, sharper, honed nails. It's skin a was a depressive gray that was covered in scars but looked stronger than anything Hagan had ever seen.
'A dragon…'
The Beast glared at Hagan as it began to fly with malice toward him, when suddenly, rain started to pelt Hagans head. Not only was it already frigid in the frozen landscape, it was raining. A thousand thunderous roars resounded from the the ancient beast and the sky.
The sky illuminated with a bright flash as the dragon closed in on Hagan. Without knowing what else to do, he cried out.
His chest already burning from the intense cold and from walking too much in the freezing temperatures.
The dragon landed on the snow in front of him and lowered its head to stare the boy in the eyes, its terrifyingly towering body sent a shiver through Hagans body as he froze, not knowing what to do. A low growl escaped the furious maw of the dragon as it gazed at Hagan.
'Wha… What is going on? I'm gonna die. I'm gonna die. I'm gonna die!'
"Speaker! Please! Help me, give me my weapon. Or my tool, my item, my garment! Anything!
As he screamed his heart out, purple and white sparks began to swirl around his body. Within one second, he suddenly had on a thick winter coat lined with warm, spotted fur. In his right hand a cylindrical metal object appeared, it was silver and had a blunt end.
'Useless. This things useles.'
Hagans mind and instincts screamed at him to move, but he couldn't. He was terrified and unprepared to face anything of this magnitude, let alone really any creature that would've come his way.
The dragon suddenly fell, and Hagan, surprised but not willing to miss the opportunity started running.
A bolt of lightning descended from the heavens striking a tree in the distance when suddenly, Hagan had a thought.
'Lightning…'
He came to a halt, turned to face the dragon and took an involuntary step back, still terrified. The dragons eyelids seemed heavy, staying only slightly open and closing little by little.
Hagan then started walking toward the ancient being with shaky legs. Slowly getting closer and closer, when he was near, he avoided its enormous and fear inducing head. He went towards its front arm that was laying lifelessly beside it, it was covered in two different liquids, one red, and the other black. It was the blood of another beast… and its own.
He climbed up the arm and onto its back. Then making his way toward the it's head, it had scaled covering its body, some missing, some split and cracked, while others were shattered, leaving only shards behind. He walked along the creatures neck and then finally reached its head, it had a spot where no scales grew. It was seemingly unprotected.
Suddenly, the surface beneath Hagans feet surged, shaking left and right. He knelt down and held on to the scales which were sharp, leaving shallow but painful cuts in his hands and knees.
