Chapter 33 - First Blood

The squeak of a mouse sounded through the building. Night had long covered the sky. The basement is where I found myself after the children fell asleep and the caretakers all had went to bed. One crib lay just under the window, A golden haired boy with whiskers on his face lay in the center. He, because I knew that this main character was a boy was lightly covered. The window was open letting in bug, cold air and smaller rodents.

'I see that the harsh care of Naruto had already begun.' I stood near the crib, It just a little too high for me to see comfortably. ANBU most likely loosely watching over him. I had only came down here to see and observe and maybe help him out a bit before going to feed. Making my choice I closed the window having to climb up the wall just to do so.

An ANBU, Who had been watching over Naruto had put down a book looking towards the window before stuffing the book in a pouch and using a shun shin. The ANBU never seen a kid of two or three no less use chakra to climb up a surface. As a matter of fact children shouldn't even have such control or know what it is, especially at the orphanage.

The ANBU was in the corner of the basement now, They shifted their mask only to something that should be impossible. There was no chakra coming off the child. It was as if he didn't have any to begin with. With the sharingan the ANBU could see that this wasn't an illusion. No signature. They would have to report this anomaly to the Hokage, Though they would have to wait until The toddler is away from the Jinjuriki as a precaution.

After closing the window I had hopped down passing by Naruto's crib giving one last glance before leaving the room. The timer was going to go off in about two minutes. I Had a feeling that the red bar was going to do something I didn't expect.

Traveling outside I walked out in the mostly cold air Konoha's night life much quieter than I thought. The occasional drunkards' fooling around and the ninjas who were on roof top hopping. Continuing, I went down a narrow alley way searching an easily available prey. The timer struck zero and the bar went from 100 percent to 0 instantaneously. It felt like I had been starving for days and it hit hard.

I held my stomach the growling loud I could feel my senses sharpen as if I was going animalistic. Looking at the bar for a minute I cold see it was going into the negatives while giving a feral warning. hearing a squeak I snapped my head in the direction of the sound finding a mouse.

Using mana sting I thinned it enough to become almost wire like before coiling it. It shot out rapidly whipping through the air and a clean slice through it's neck appeared before the head fell off. Reaching for the body I hoped that I didn't get any diseases, I lifted it up and opened my mouth letting the crimson flow directly into my mouth.

It didn't really taste as bad I thought and known it should have been. Not only that, It felt like I was blind the entire time I was here before drinking the rat. I was hearing sound much better and my nose could smell much more than usual even a scent that wasn't my own. It then hit me harder than the trucks that killed me the first time, I had been followed or at least been observed doing such an action.

Looking around my eyes glowing again after finally ingesting the life liquid. I had made eye contact with a taller figure wrapped in a white cloak with what seemed to be a dog or fox mask, And a singular eye on it's left glowing a faint red.

With mind racing I held out the decapitated rat as if the ANBU member wanted some. Taking a glance at the red bar it had only filled up to 6.7 percent with one rat. The ANBU popped, A shadow clone. Whipping the droplets of blood that had gotten on my face I ran now a little faster than before my little legs caring me back to the orphanage.

I had reached the front door, So far nothing stopping me from getting back. I wasn't confident enough to take on anyone here let alone ABNU. The unpredictable usage of my mana could only take me so far. Not needing hand signs or any body movement to use it I could catch anyone off guard if they were perhaps naïve.

I hastily but as quiet as I could close the door, Silencing my foot steps I made my way to the door holding the other boys ages ranging from infants to 8 to 9 year old. Swiftly I had gotten into bed and closed my eye. Perhaps who I thought was Kakashi would think it was an illusion or somethin.

The figure watching over Naruto blinked as the memory of the clone. The information had made them lose their line in the book that they were reading. It was like something out of a horror novel, The face of the black haired kid had drops of blood down his face his canines sharper than they should be. Then they saw them running toward the building faster than what his age should allow.

'Maybe the Hokage will know what to do.' They thought to them selves before continuing their book the image of the child drinking blood still on their mind. 'Or maybe just a medial condition?' They continued to think coming to possible conclusions ignoring their book almost entirely.

The moment the ANBU changed shifts they would have to wait to report their findings to the Hokage. actually
