A knock on the door snapped Lane out of his daze.
But, he remained on his bed. Who cares what the others wanted from him? He didn't feel like moving. Staring blankly at the ceiling suited him just fine.
However, the knocking resounded in the empty room once again, louder this time.
…So what? Lane still remained unmoving. Let them knock until their hands fall off, he didn't care.
"Hey, are you dead there?"
Huh? This voice…
Lane blinked. Then, he swiftly jumped off the bed, and flung the door open.
"So you are awake," Ava lifted her brows.
"They've let you in?" Lane asked stupidly, still struck in disbelief, half-convinced he was hallucinating. He had been in contact with Ava all this time, of course, and they had been plotting how to get Lane out of the mansion, but the Allens had prevented them from meeting!
So, what changed now?
"As you can see," Ava shrugged her shoulders, stepping into the room. "Pack up now, we're going to my place!"
