Chapter 69 - Pets

Shikamaru's is "Old Life," Chōji's is "Who's Fat?" "Good Heart," and "Great Gourmet," while Ino's is "Blooming Cosmos."

Although these accessories are useful, they are mostly designed for daily life or for cheating in specific situations.

Additionally, Kuro also forged childhood accessories for Sakura, Sasuke, and Kiba.

Sasuke's "Sunny After Rain," Kiba's "Tracking Mask," and Sakura's "Gemini" and "Juli Bracers."

"Sunny After Rain" is a metal badge, thumb-sized, with the name engraved and a drawing.

"Tracking Mask" is like a regular face mask. It's black, with a modern design and a breathing valve.

Gemini is a fist-sized cluster of light.

Juli Bracer is a pink-colored bracelet.

[Special Item: "Sunny After Rain"

Effect: This item grants the user immense self-confidence, especially after experiencing progress. Confidence will increase geometrically.

Note: Overconfidence may not always be beneficial.]

[Special Item: "Tracking Mask"

Effect: This mask strengthens the user's sense of smell tens of thousands of times, enabling them to detect subtle odors undetectable to normal people or even common canine creatures, even at long distances.]

[Special Item: "Juli Bracers"

Effect: These bracers protect the user's wrists from injury during physical activities and significantly enhance their strength, granting immense power.]

Although "Sunny After Rain" might be troublesome in certain situations, it can be highly useful if used well. On the other hand, "Tracking Mask" and "Juli Bracers" are practical and reliable, though not especially powerful.

Kuro, for his part, relied on accessories to fight Lian with a sword. Otherwise, it would have been impossible for a child under eight to physically confront an adult Jōnin, no matter how much he trained.

He also attempted to obtain Shino's hair, but the insects' sense of alertness made it impossible. The bugs anticipated any attempt at contact, preventing Kuro from collecting anything useful from him.

By now, Kuro had almost figured out the forging rules of the system.

First, it depends on what their future versions would be like, and the system creates accessories with abilities based on this concept.

The second is their own potential. It could be blood, talent, or unique abilities. However, ordinary ninjutsu does not qualify as a source of potential.

For instance, although he tried using hair from Iruka and other ninjas, the system did not respond. It was unclear if forbidden techniques like Kinjutsu had enough potential for forging.

....

Lian, not having a system, could not see the information Kuro saw. However, upon taking the swords, he immediately understood their role and abilities.

His eyes turned serious as he evaluated the weapons. After a moment, he shook his head and handed the swords back to Kuro.

"These are too valuable; I can't accept them."

Kuro didn't reach out to take them. Instead, he shook his head, smiling as he slowly stepped back.

"These swords can only show their true power in your hands. Besides... they might seem very valuable to you, but to me, they're expendable. I have too many similar things."

Hearing this, Lian remained silent for a moment before looking up.

With a slight smile, he said, "If that's the case, then I'll accept them."

Then, he examined the swords and added, "Can I paint these swords? The color is too flashy. For assassinations or even frontal combat, this shine can attract too much attention."

Kuro looked at him in surprise before laughing.

"You're right! But they're yours now, so it's up to you how to use them."

"…Understood."

Lian nodded, stored the swords in a sealing scroll, saluted Kuro, and left.

Watching Lian's figure disappear into the distance, Kuro also packed up his things and headed home.

Although there was still some time before nightfall, he preferred to plan ahead for his next training.

At the very least, write down some ideas and thoughts about what he needed to improve.

....

After walking quite a distance, Kuro finally arrived at his yard.

However, as soon as he opened the door, what he saw left him speechless.

A black puppy was running around like crazy, chasing a crow, while the yard was a complete mess.

The stone tables and benches were scattered across the grass. The top of the rock above the pool was cracked, and the training targets and stone pillars were lying everywhere.

Hearing the door open, the crow and the puppy instantly stopped. Both turned their heads toward Kuro.

The crow, as if seeing a savior, flew toward him with a screech.

The puppy, on the other hand, looked at him and ran off as if it had seen death itself.

Kuro kept a blank expression as he caught the crow with one hand and pulled out three kunai from his ninja pouch with the other.

Without hesitation, he threw the kunai in the puppy's direction.

Bam, bam, bam...

The kunai blocked the puppy's escape route, forcing it to a stop.

Its eyes darted nervously, as if thinking of a solution. Finally, with a flattering expression, it began walking toward Kuro, wagging its tail enthusiastically.

Along the way, it glanced at the crow struggling in Kuro's hand and then at Kuro's expressionless eyes. It swallowed hard and lowered its head, clearly regretful.

When it reached him, it raised its head and displayed what could only be described as a goofy smile.

Then, without warning...

"Get out of here!" Kuro shouted fiercely as he kicked it.

The puppy flew off like a shooting star, disappearing behind a rock with a howl of pain.

Kuro looked at the crow still in his hand.

The crow flapped and cawed, as if trying to justify itself: I'm a victim too.

"I know you're a victim."

Kuro stroked its feathers to calm it.

But suddenly, he tightened his grip, and his face darkened.

"But this is my house. I don't care who started it. All I know is that you two destroyed my yard, and now it's your turn to fix it."

Without further ado, he took a pitching stance and threw the crow like a baseball.

The bird flew off, becoming another star disappearing behind the rock.

"…"

Sighing in frustration, Kuro began cleaning up the mess silently.

The crow was a gift from Itachi.

It had been quiet and easy to care for; it didn't need food and didn't poop in the yard.

That was until two months ago, when Kiba sent him a black puppy named Black.

From the first day, the two animals seemed to understand each other immediately. It was as if they shared a special connection beyond the color of their fur.

Together, they seemed to have endless energy to cause trouble.

At first, he let them out to play, but soon he discovered it was a big mistake. They destroyed several street stalls and ended up being captured by the village ninjas.

Since then, he decided to keep them locked in the yard.

But every day was the same: chaos.

"Ahhh! Why did you send me this demon, Kiba?" he shouted while picking up the remnants of his yard, "You did it on purpose, I know it!"
