"Your 'place' is an Inn?"
"Hey I didn't say I'd be bringing you to Heavens Feel type royalty house now did I?"
"Yeah but you could've said that your place was an Inn at first."
I sighed and stepped inside.
It was a very musty smelly room, definitely a cheap Inn.
There was booze bottles in the corner, probably the source of the musty smell, and trash scattered across the room.
"This is how you live?" I asked
"Yep, don'tcha love it?"
"Uhhh"
"I'm just messing with you, this stuff was already here when I got here."
"And you didn't clean it?"
"Why should I? It should be the Inn keepers responsibility to clean after the last residence."
"That is a fair point", I say in a mutter like tone.
"Anyways let's clean up that shoulder wound you got there. I'm honestly suprised you haven't been rushing me to heal you this whole time"
"Well I have learned to take a beating."
"That isn't a beating, that's a flesh wound", the tiefling says in an annoyed voice.
"Anyways, let's get this over with."
"Alright"
The tiefling starts the incantation
"Let this O' divine blessing heal thy soul, Lautrauch!"
As soon as her lips finished the God's name, I was good as new.
"Jeez, that worked well, the pain is already gone."
"Whaddya think healing magic is for silly."
She then reached out her hand to shake mine
I reached back in slight confusion but didn't want to be rude.
"Basil"
"What"
"Names Basil, look forward to working with ya", she said with a smile.
"What."

"Wait, what do you mean look forward to working with me."
"Well you know how tieflings get little voices from the underworld telling them advice almost like a fortune?"
"Yeah?"
"Well I recently got one that said I would be saved by someone and that someone would take me on a grand adventure."
I looked at her dumbfounded and confused.
"Is this some kinda joke?"
"Nope!" Basil said with a smile.
"Well I'm not on a "grand adventure" and I'm not taking you along"
"Well your clearly traveling and I always follow the underworlds advice."
"Well I think you can pass on that advice one time"
"Well the thing is, I can't."
"What do you mean you can't."
"See every 10'000 or so born tieflings will get born with a curse. And that curse is that if you don't follow the underworlds advice, you will get punished."
"..."
"I know I seem like I'm lying but it's the truth!"
"Your very chipper for a tiefling and that makes you seem more like a liar."
"Listen, I know I'm not doing a good job convincing you but how about instead we make a deal."
"A deal?"
"Yes, I help you find what your looking for and in return you get my magical help and in my return I don't get punished."
"How do you know I'm looking for something?"
"I have very good intuition."
"Either way you have no idea what I'm looking for."
"I don't care what it is, just let me help."
"..."
I finally let out a sigh, "Fine".
"YES, you won't regret it." Basil says with a a huge grin.

We step outside the Inn as Basil makes her final payments to the Inn keeper.
"So where we heading?"
"Guyry Kingdom"
"That'll take at least a month. You sure we have enough supplies."
"I had a good amount of supplies before you came along. Now with you we definitely have enough. Trust me, we'll be fine.
"Alrighhtttt."

It's already night. Time to set up camp.
"Hey, let's set up camp in that cave for tonight."
"Alright, that works." Basil responded

As we settle in to go to sleep, I look outside the cave and wonder what it is I am looking for.
Dammit.
As I keep thinking I slowly drift asleep.
