—KNOCK! KNOCK!
A beam of light shines from outside the car, followed by a sharp, violent knock on the window.
My heart is pounding, but my breath, on the other hand, is completely gone. My muscles are paralyzed, and a cold shiver runs through my body—all within the span of an instant. A terror that tightens even more when, turning my gaze toward the source of the beam of light, I see two police officers outside the window, ordering us to step out of the car.
«Shit... what do we do now?!»
My eyes meet Isabelle's—unlike me, she shows no sign of worry or fear—and she gives a slight nod, a sign that I should follow the officers' instructions. Isabelle adjusts my underwear and pants, and I immediately do as ordered.
