Chapter 31 - Chapter 28

Birds sang melodiously outside, their harmonious tunes filtering through the windows, as the warm sunlight poured in, casting a golden glow over the bedroom. The peaceful morning was abruptly interrupted by a sweet, soft voice echoing through the room, shattering the quiet air.

"Henrik!" the voice called, gentle yet insistent. "Wake up, brother~~," it cooed, attempting to rouse him from his deep slumber.

"Brother!!!" the voice called again, this time with a mix of impatience and affection.

Henrik lay sprawled across the bed, lost in dreams, his chest rising and falling with steady, rhythmic breaths. Hope, his twin sister, straddled his waist, her attempts to wake him becoming more persistent. "Brother!!! Wake up!!!" she called, her face flushed as she moved her hips, her damp pussy slowly caressing his growing morning wood.

Hope's breath hitched, her body heating up with excitement as she felt him respond to her touch. Henrik slowly stirred, a lazy smile playing on his lips as he beheld Hope. "Good morning, beautiful," he murmured, his voice husky with sleep.

"Brother~~," Hope softly called, her eyes filled with love. "It's not morning anymore; it's already past midday." She panted, her face crimson with arousal, her body tingling with anticipation.

Henrik glanced around, noticing the absence of the other girls in the bed. It seemed they had already risen. "Then... are you comfortable there, sister?" he asked, a mischievous smile playing on his lips.

"Henrik~..." Hope called out softly, her face blushing. Unable to resist any longer, she dove onto him, taking his lips in a passionate kiss.

Henrik relaxed, enjoying the taste of his twin sister's lips, still feeling as if he were in a dream. "Mhmm~~" Hope moaned, eagerly kissing him, her tongue circling around his without stopping, as if she were trying to meld them together.

After a long while, they separated, their lips connected by a fine thread of wet saliva as Hope and Henrik rested their foreheads against each other, gazing into each other's eyes. Hope's misty and adoring look did not hide how much she loved him.

"Hey..." Henrik said softly. "I...I love you, sister. I never thought that I would actually be like this with you now. I mean... I knew that I would have you someday, but not right now. I... I don't know if you understand what I mean, Hope."

Hope smiled sweetly, seeing Henrik struggle to articulate his thoughts. She moved forward and captured his lips again in another eager and wet kiss. "I know, brother. I understand what you mean," Hope chuckled. "I mean, we are the same, both in a time that isn't our own, right?"

"Right..." Henrik smiled wryly. Then, with a hint of hesitation and dread, he asked, "Hope... Are you my Hope?"

Hope and Henrik looked at each other for a moment, the silence becoming too heavy for Henrik as he gazed at her, awaiting her response, suspended in anticipation.

A chuckle shattered the silence.

"Why are you so tense, fearful, and sad about the possible answer, brother?" Hope asked, her voice broken with amusement and sorrow, as if she might cry at any moment.

"I... I'm sad actually. I didn't get to enjoy knowing my sister and growing up with her. Someone took that from me," Henrik exhaled deeply, trying to calm down as he felt a knot in his throat. "I was waiting silently, excited for the time to pass, to be with her again, by her side in a few months."

"And... now... here is my sister, all grown up." Henrik's voice broke as he laid himself bare, vulnerable to her, pouring out his heartfelt feelings and emotions for her to see. "But Hope, I'm scared, I'm really scared and sad too. Because this sister of mine, is she actually my sister?"

"Are you... Really my Hope?"

.............

A few hours later, Henrik and Hope were nestled together, his arms wrapped around her as she lay on his chest. They sat on a blanket on the pier by the lake, adjacent to the Salvatore residence. The calm water and the cool breeze whispering softly made the moment utterly serene.

They were enjoying themselves there after Hope woke him up and they poured their feelings out to each other in that heartfelt chat. The girls had left along with Rebekah, who wanted to experience school life and human life. Bekah had taken along Katherine, much to her dismay, as well as Alicia and Megan.

Henrik felt so calm and whole now. He had his other half beside him, his twin sister. She had calmed his fears and made him understand that they should have never been there in the first place. He could still feel her words playing in his mind.

"Are you... Really my Hope?"

Hope's answer was simply to kiss him again, crying and wetting his face with her tears. "I love you, brother. I love you more than anything. Even... more than dad and mom. I can't be without you, brother." Hope sobbed, her voice broken with emotion. "That's why I'm here. I couldn't resist not being with you anymore. I needed you. I needed my loving brother who took care of me all the time since we were babies."

"The brother who stood in front and protected me from anything. The brother who so tenderly called me his little wolf and princess. The brother who said that we would be together always and forever, the brother who told me I would never be left alone again." Hope cried disconsolately, wetting Henrik's face as she caressed him so tenderly, their gazes locked.

Henrik was at a loss for words, his tears silently dripping down his cheeks as he listened to her, feeling her emotions and words open their way into his heart. He could feel her sorrow, her despair at the loss, and the happiness, love, and adoration she had for him.

"I... I see, but Hope... I-I am that brother? Hope! I...I didn't have the chance to do that, Hope!!! I wasn't allowed to!" Henrik broke down, sadly admitting with a hoarse voice. "I suddenly appeared here. I think I'm not the brother you are looking for."

"You are...!!! You are my brother, Henrik!!! My only brother!!!" Hope cried even harder than before, seeing the vulnerable state of her beloved brother as he wrestled with his fears. She had never seen him like this before.

"How could you know that?" Henrik called out in despair, his mind in turmoil as he tried to believe her with all his heart, but reason made no sense of it. He had been transported to this place and time by that light, after all.

"Because, brother, I'll always know you, Henrik. Even if you didn't know me. The heart doesn't lie, and our connection is eternal, my love." Hope smiled through her tears, arching back a little and removing her shirt, showing him the white wolf tattoo over her breast.

Hope then took his hands and put them over her breasts. "Can you feel it, Henrik? My heart beating for you and this mark that is proof of your love?"

Henrik's face was a mix of despair and hopefulness as he looked at that mark, the same mark that he loved to see on his girls, which was also on Hope. He could feel the connection with it; that connection didn't lie. But even more truthful was his sister's beating heart. Her heart beat along with his, every beat as if they were one.

Two Hearts Beat As One

He could feel that she was being truthful about everything, that she loved him more than anything. But his damned brain, even with the evidence before him, couldn't comprehend how he had a childhood with her when he had been moved to this time the moment he was born. Still, he tried to suppress it; he didn't want to hurt Hope, his precious sister.

"I... I believe you..." Henrik said, offering the most sincere smile he could muster.

Hope smiled radiantly, seeing that Henrik was calming down and becoming more cheerful from his fearful and despairing state. She felt her heart ache and break as she saw how he suffered, thinking that she wasn't his Hope.

Still, she could feel that he was still insecure about some things; that smile wasn't the brightest she had seen from him. "What's the matter, brother? Tell me, my love. I don't want you to have any doubts. I can tell you're still thinking about something." Hope kissed his tears, removing them from his cheeks before kissing his lips again.

Henrik felt like a failure. His sister was stronger than him, emotionally. The kiss was salty and sweet at the same time, even then. It was the best kiss he had ever had.

After they separated, Henrik saw the tears in her eyes and licked them away. "Sorry, Hope. Your brother is weak," Henrik said.

"No, brother. You are not weak... Just insecure, because I know you love me the most." Hope smiled sweetly at him.

"Hope..." Henrik whispered, caressing her cheeks. She was right. Since she appeared, his heart had become fearful, and his mind couldn't stop thinking. Was she his Hope? He dreaded knowing what would come. It was driving him slowly mad, toward an abyss that his mind was digging for himself.

"Hope... I must reveal something. I'm not from this place, time, world, universe. I don't know how to explain it. I was born with you, but that day..." Henrik tried to put his thoughts into words, but it was difficult.

"I know, brother. That day you killed the witches that killed mom." Hope continued for him softly, resting on his chest, feeling his beating heart and warm body.

"You killed these witches, and mom became a hybrid, vampire-werewolf. Thankfully. If you're wondering who made her a hybrid, it was you. She had your mark on her breast. Naughty brother, I know what you must be thinking." Hope chuckled.

"Sister." Henrik offered a wry smile, but inside, he was content.

"Well... A lot of things happened since then, growing up." Hope continued.

"Such as you making your dream true of taking all the women in the family as yours... Such a horny wolf you are, brother..." Hope chuckled with a grin. "I'm not enough for you, brother? You even had mom from the start after she bore your mark. You slowly grabbed her into your paws; even without you doing anything, she couldn't leave your hold."

Henrik decided it was best to say nothing.

"Anyway, it's been almost half a year for me when nature conspired with our enemies, trying to destroy you as you were too strong. Many things in one body, and nature didn't want you to exist. Or that is what we thought. They couldn't kill us or you, so they tried to erase you from existence by not making you be born at all."

"You killed everyone involved and sealed the timeline, not allowing it to be manipulated as they did in that moment ever again. But you vanished... you vanished beside us all... Their spell was activated anyway."

"That day I felt like dying... Grandma and everyone, we tried to study the magic involved. We succeeded half a year later; we wanted to undo it, but it wasn't possible. We didn't have that kind of power, and there was nothing we could use. In despair, I used a necklace you had given me, made with your power. I used it as a medium and myself to come back in time. I wanted to be with you; I didn't want to be in a world without my beloved brother."

Hope caressed his body and smelled his scent contentedly, kissing his chest tenderly. Henrik listened in silence, sighing at the end.

"Well, it seems we are alive by a miracle. So... You know about my everything, sister. About my past life?" Henrik asked quietly.

"I know... I know everything about you, brother. The same as you know everything about me." Hope smiled.

"Hope... You... Are you Legacies Hope too?" Henrik asked quietly.

Hope chuckled. "You said that again, the same as before... Maybe once I was that, in my past life. Now... I'm just the Hope of Henrik. Don't confuse things, brother. I'm your Hope."

"I know. I love you, sister." Henrik said, gently grasping her chin and making her look upwards as he captured her lips in a wet, passionate kiss.
