Chapter 107 - Let’s See How Long You Can Stay Defiant

Had this Uchiha ninja's Sharingan just evolved?

Suzumebachi couldn't wrap her head around it. The evolution of the tomoe in the Sharingan was supposed to be irreversible. She had never seen an Uchiha who had unlocked the three-tomoe Sharingan revert to using only one tomoe, let alone use it to deceive an enemy.

The only possibility was that a ninja close to this Uchiha had just died, and the pain of that loss had triggered the evolution of his Sharingan.

"Bee Needle Technique!"

A cruel smile spread across her face. This was perfect. She would take her time tormenting these Konoha ninjas. The stronger they were, the better.

The bees gathered around Suzumebachi shot out their venomous stingers, raining down like a storm of needles.

Yet, Shimizu's figure darted left and right, ethereal and untouchable. Not a single stinger grazed him.

The Heavenly Prison Fire Sword shrank back to its normal size, and in a flash, Shimizu appeared right in front of Suzumebachi.

Suzumebachi hastily defended herself, but with each strike, her fear grew.

Every swing of Shimizu's blade carried a tremendous force, rattling her internal organs and numbing her hands.

A taijutsu specialist?

Suzumebachi's mind raced. From the corner of her eye, she saw her clansmen entangled by Konoha's jōnin, leaving no one to come to her aid.

If this kept up, her hands would go numb from the repeated impacts, and she'd lose her grip on her kunai.

A thought of retreat began to form in her mind. She called out to her summoned queen bee to distract Shimizu while she slowly backed away.

Shimizu, noticing her retreat, deliberately slowed his attacks, allowing her to create more distance.

As Shimizu and Suzumebachi clashed, Obito charged toward an Iwa-nin named Tanihata Norio, kunai in hand.

"Ah!"

But the moment he lunged forward, a stinger from the queen bee struck his arm.

Tanihata Norio slashed at Obito's wrist, the cut so deep it nearly reached the bone.

Nearby, Might Guy saw his comrade in trouble and immediately launched a "Leaf Whirlwind" kick, buying Obito some time.

Tanihata Norio blocked the kick.

Blood gushed from Obito's wound like a spring. With no time to stop the bleeding, he gripped his kunai with his other hand and thrust it at Tanihata with all his might.

Thud!

Obito was kicked away, rolling several times before curling up like a shrimp, gasping for breath, drenched in cold sweat.

Seeing how easily Shimizu handled his opponent, Obito had thought he could show off a little too.

"Leaf Strong Whirlwind!"

Might Guy charged at Tanihata Norio.

...

While the others were locked in a life-and-death struggle with the Iwa-nin, Shimizu and Suzumebachi continued their chase. A few minutes later, they arrived in a quiet forest.

"You think I'm afraid of you?"

Suzumebachi, already disgusted with Konoha ninjas, grew even more resentful as Shimizu pursued her. She summoned another swarm of venomous bees.

"Bee Bomb Technique!"

The bees exploded one after another, each blast nearly as powerful as an explosive tag.

Boom! Boom! Boom!

The shockwaves from the explosions flattened the grass on the ground.

The bee bombs Shimizu dodged all hit the earth, leaving behind a series of craters.

"Alright, I think playtime is over."

A fireball appeared in Shimizu's hand, splitting into eight flaming orbs shaped like magatama. Each one radiated a terrifying heat.

The bees exploded before they could even touch the Yasaka Magatama, incinerated by the intense flames.

In the blink of an eye, the entire swarm was wiped out in a chain reaction of explosions.

Suzumebachi's heart sank.

She had expended too much chakra, and her reserves were still replenishing. There was no time to summon more bees.

Before she could think further, she swung her kunai to block Shimizu's next attack.

The moment the Heavenly Prison Fire Sword made contact with her kunai, it sliced through the blade.

The cut glowed red, smooth as a mirror.

"What's going on?"

A chill ran down Suzumebachi's spine. Shimizu was far stronger than he had been back at the camp.

Based on their earlier exchanges, her kunai should have been able to withstand dozens of strikes before breaking. How had he cut it in half so easily?

Shimizu offered no explanation.

Dealing with a minor antagonist like Suzumebachi, whom even early-series Naruto could handle, was something he could wrap up in a single move.

The only reason he had dragged it out was that, upon seeing her, he realized he was in need of test subjects.

Conducting human experiments in Konoha was a slow path to suicide. But during wartime, especially against an enemy force, the risk of discovery was minimal.

Konoha wouldn't care about Iwa-nin lives, and if Iwa noticed people missing, they'd assume they were either captured or dead.

Of course, these thoughts were best kept to himself. Flames ignited at Shimizu's feet, and in an instant, he appeared behind Suzumebachi. He sheathed the Heavenly Prison Fire Sword, planted his kunai in the ground, and pinned her down.

"Stay still."

Shimizu pried open her mouth to check for hidden suicide poison. Finding none, he bound her hands.

"Hmph, I'll die before I give you any information."

Suzumebachi's mood hit rock bottom, her eyes burning with hatred.

Clearly, she despised Shimizu, a member of Konoha.

Captured ninjas rarely met a good end.

"Let's see how long you can stay this defiant."

Shimizu hoisted her onto his shoulder, picked up his kunai, and leapt onto a tree trunk. Using the branches as footholds, he moved swiftly through the forest.

The warmth of Suzumebachi's body and the texture of her skin pressed against his shoulder. The disheveled edges of her clothing revealed glimpses of her toned and supple figure.

Female ninjas, trained rigorously and enhanced by chakra, often had far better physiques than non-shinobi women.

"This isn't the way to your Konoha outpost."

Suzumebachi noticed the distant lights growing farther away as Shimizu carried her in the opposite direction.

"You'll see when we get there."

Ten minutes later.

Shimizu arrived at the base of a mountain and created four shadow clones.

Two of the clones formed hand seals and pressed their hands against the mountainside, revealing an oval-shaped tunnel.

Another clone took out a kunai and began smoothing out the rough edges.

The fourth clone jumped inside and used Earth Release to create small holes in the walls, forming ventilation shafts that led to the surface.

Suzumebachi's eyes widened in confusion as she watched.

Soon, the shadow clones dispersed, and Shimizu carried her into the tunnel. He pulled out a few oil lamps from a storage scroll and placed them in the corners for light.

He set Suzumebachi down in the center.

Under the dim glow of the lamps, her features became clearer.

She wore a black robe with intricate red patterns along the edges, shimmering faintly in the light. Her long sleeves revealed her pale shoulders, and her figure was curvaceous and alluring. Her long legs were clad in gray stockings, adding a touch of cold elegance.

"You'll be staying here from now on. I'll bring supplies daily. Don't even think about escaping."

Shimizu formed hand seals, and the earthen walls melted like mud, extending tendrils that wrapped around Suzumebachi, forming shackles that locked her fingers, wrists, and ankles.

Her limbs were bound, suspended in the center of the room.
