Chapter 266: Roger Pirates vs. Flying Pirates
A plan?
Roger thought for a moment, then suddenly raised his head with determination.
"The plan is to charge straight through! Everyone, prepare for battle!"
He drew Ace, his Supreme Grade sword, and pointed it toward the Flying Fleet led by Shiki the Golden Lion.
But instead of cheers, he was met with stunned silence.
"Roger, have you lost your mind?"
Rayleigh turned sharply, shocked by the reckless decision.
"Of course not! Our only chance is to break through their siege!"
Roger declared casually, gripping his sword with confidence.
Rayleigh sighed deeply, then took the cigarette from his lips and drew his own sword.
"Alright then! Let's show the New World that the Roger Pirates are back!"
Rayleigh raised his sword, clashing it lightly against Roger's Ace, signaling unity.
"Attack!"
The entire crew roared as they drew their weapons.
Even Shanks and Buggy joined in, shouting alongside their comrades.
But if one looked closely, they would notice Buggy's legs trembling.
"Are we really going to fight? That's the legendary Golden Lion!"
Buggy whispered nervously to Shanks.
"Idiot! Don't forget, the Roger Pirates are one of the four great legendary pirate crews! Are you scared?"
Shanks teased him.
"Pfft! As if! This great Buggy fears no lion, golden or not!"
Buggy puffed out his chest, but his fear was obvious.
And yet, to everyone's shock, he suddenly rushed forward to the ship's bow!
"Hey! You golden-haired freak! You wanna die? How dare you stand in my way?!"
Buggy shouted, pointing six throwing knives at Shiki, the infamous Golden Lion.
"...?"
Silence.
The entire battlefield fell still for a moment.
Everyone turned to look at the tiny red-nosed kid yelling at one of the strongest pirates in the world.
Even Shiki paused mid-air, raising an eyebrow.
"Who the hell...?"
The officers of the Flying Pirates glanced at each other, unsure whether to laugh or kill him immediately.
Shanks' jaw dropped in disbelief.
"Buggy, are you insane?! You're taunting the Golden Lion?!"
He hurriedly ran forward, drawing his sword to stand beside his friend.
Shiki finally noticed the two boys standing at the bow.
They were just kids.
Buggy froze, realizing how many powerful pirates were now staring at him.
His legs shook so badly he nearly collapsed, and his face paled with fear.
These guys were real monsters—each of them had bounties in the hundreds of millions!
Meanwhile, aboard the pursuing Marine ship, Garp had already noticed the commotion at the Roger Pirates' bow.
He had stopped throwing cannonballs momentarily.
"Report! Vice Admiral Garp, we have detected the Flying Fleet ahead—Shiki the Golden Lion is leading them!"
A Marine rushed over, urgently relaying the information.
Garp's expression hardened.
"Relay my orders—prepare for battle!"
"Yes, sir!"
The Marine crew scrambled into action, arming the cannons and readying their weapons as they kept an eye on the incoming Flying Fleet.
From above, Shiki grinned, floating mid-air.
"Kehehehe! Roger! Why are you hiding behind two brats? Are you too scared to face me yourself?"
He called out, his voice booming across the sea.
"Hahahahahaha! Shiki! It's been a while!"
Roger laughed heartily, leaping from the stern of the ship to land beside Buggy and Shanks.
His nostrils flared as he smiled confidently—but his hand remained on his sword, ready to strike at any moment.
Floating above him, Shiki glared down coldly.
Rayleigh and Jabba rushed to Roger's side, quickly grabbing Buggy and Shanks and throwing them behind the main crew.
"You two, stay back. This fight is way out of your league!"
Rayleigh warned.
"Yes, sir!"
Shanks immediately straightened up, trying to look serious.
But Buggy was still paralyzed with fear, his legs trembling uncontrollably.
Rayleigh sighed but said nothing, turning his attention back to Shiki's fleet.
"Roger, this looks bad. All thirteen division commanders of the Flying Pirates are here. This is an all-out assault."
Rayleigh muttered beside him.
Roger nodded slightly.
"Roger! Explain yourself!"
Shiki drew his twin swords, pointing them directly at Roger, his face burning with rage.
"Explain? Explain what?"
Roger grinned like an idiot.
Shiki's veins bulged with fury.
"You bastard! If you won't talk—I'll beat the answer out of you!"
Shiki raised both swords, giving the order.
"Kill them all!"
Battle erupted.
"Chop Wave!"
Shiki flipped in mid-air, launching two massive flying slashes toward Roger.
"Divine Departure!"
Roger countered instantly, drawing Ace and swinging his sword with terrifying force.
The two attacks collided, sending a massive shockwave across the battlefield.
As the captains clashed, their crews charged into battle.
"Fire the cannons!"
The Flying Fleet followed Shiki's order, unleashing a barrage of cannonfire on the Roger Pirates' ship.
"Thirteen ships are firing at once?! Damn it!"
Jabba gritted his teeth, leaping into action.
Rayleigh and Jabba focused on deflecting the incoming cannonballs to protect their ship.
But the bombardment didn't stop.
Round after round of artillery fire rained down, shaking the Roger Pirates' ship violently.
"Damn it! Fight me head-on, cowards!"
Jabba roared in frustration.
"Heaven's Splitter!"
Jabba swung his twin axes, unleashing a powerful shockwave at one of the enemy ships.
"Hmph! I won't let you!"
A massive pirate aboard the enemy ship roared in defiance.
His body swelled, growing into a towering black bear in an instant.
"Hold the line!"
The bear-like pirate braced himself, covering his arms in Haki to block the attack.
CLANG!
A deafening impact rang out.
The sheer force cracked the ship's deck, pushing the bear pirate back ten meters before he finally stopped the attack.
"Huff… Huff…"
The black bear pirate exhaled heavily, steam rising from his nostrils.
The battle had only just begun.
