The alley at night seemed solitary, the dim light from the streetlamps casting shadows on the open ground. Only a few oil lamps emitted a faint glow, shrouding the entire alley in haziness.
The two looked at each other silently, neither speaking again.
Jiang Yurou took two steps forward and then turned to smile slightly at Tan Bo, "This is as far as you go."
"Okay," Tan Bo responded, his gaze never leaving Jiang Yurou.
Jiang Yurou took a deep breath and reached for the shopping bag in Tan Bo's hand.
But just then, a familiar figure appeared in her line of sight.
Zhou Ming stood quietly not far away, silently watching her and Tan Bo, his face expressionless and inscrutable.
The moment she locked eyes with Zhou Ming, Jiang Yurou's heart skipped a beat and panic flashed through her eyes, but she quickly regained her composure and gave Zhou Ming a bright smile, "You're back?"
