Chapter 37 - The Morning After

It was now morning at Clawthorne Manor, and everyone was seated at the breakfast table

as Gwendolyn brought out some homecooked food and filled up everyone's plate.

Eda's eyes watered a bit. feeling nostalgic from her mother's cooking.

It almost made her forget everything, and brought her back to the happier days of her childhood.

Anne found herself surprised at how well she was doing at eating the strange food.

She had been worried about offending her boyfriend's grandmother by being unable to eat anything.

But apparently her time in Amphibia had trained her stomach to accept such bizarre types of edibles.

"So, Anne..." spoke Eda, striking a conversation.

Anne looked to her boyfriend's mother. "ye-yeah?"

"How are you holding up in this world? I get you already have some 'experience' with that,

But I can't help being curious at how well a human like yourself is adjusting to a place like this."

"Hey, you never asked ME anything like that!" spoke Luz.

"You're different, Luz." said Eda. "You actually WANT to be here in the Demon Realm.

I just want to make sure Anne feels comfortable living here, given all she's had to go through."

"oh." said Luz, realizing Eda's point.

"Well, kid? You doing okay?" repeated Eda to Anne.

Anne shrugged. "not gonna lie... I do wish I was back home with my parents. I really miss them.

And don't take this the wrong way, but after spending a half-a-day and full night in this world,

I'm starting to think that I was very lucky to have been sent to Amphibia, and not THIS place.

I mean... Amphibia was also a medieval world with dangerous monsters that wanted to eat me.

But it was still pretty grounded and easy for me to adapt to. Not Normal by any means, but... Abnormal."

Anne then paused as she thought back to her experiences yesterday and last night.

"but this place... It's like a Dream and a Nightmare fused together. a "Dreamare".

Part of me actually wanted to do what Olivier wanted and just stay here where it's safe.

BUT, I can't help but be curious about the world my boyfriend came from.

So, as scared as I am of this place... I want to see more of it. ALL of it, even.

I mean... as bizarre as this world is, it is part of who Olivier is.

And if this is the kind of place that made someone like him, it can't be that bad."

Willow, Amity, King and the Clawthornes all stared blankly at Anne for a moment.

It was certainly jarring to hear their world being described in such a way.

But they had to remind themselves that Anne was a human from a whole other realm.

To them, the Demon Realm was their home (the only one they knew).

But to someone like Anne, it made some sense that their home would be a scary place.

Luz had different feelings, though.

Like Anne, she was human too. but she didn't view the Boiling Isles in the same way Anne did.

She loved everything about this world, even if it was bizarre (which is what made her love it even more!)

But Luz had to again remind herself that not everyone shared her mindset on things.

Not everyone liked the same things she liked, and Luz had accepted that truth a long time ago.

So as jarring as it was for her and Anne to not share the exact same feelings about the Boiling Isles,

she wasn't about to let it put a rift between them. Humans (like Weirdos) need to stick together.

And being the only full blood humans in a magical world, Luz couldn't help but feel a kinship with Anne. Almost like a... 'Sisterhood'.

And no matter what, Luz would do her best to help her fellow human feel at home here like her.

Eda of course, was more understanding of Anne's situation given how she had been between realms on a daily basis.

She was fully aware of the cultural difference between her world and the world Anne and Luz came from.

though if this Amphibia really was just a watered down version of her world, then Anne probably wouldn't need to be sheltered TOO MUCH.

Still... she was human, and very different from Luz. and what kind of person would she be

if she didn't try to protect the future mother of her grandchildren (hey, a gal can hope can't she?!)

"It's alright, Anne... I get it. It's never easy adjusting to living in a new world" spoke Eda, her voice soft.

"You know, I was no older than you were when I first travelled to the human realm."

This made both Anne and Luz' eyes light up. "Really?!"

Eda smiled as she nodded. "Yep. It was during... a difficult time in my life."

This statement made Gwendolyn avert her gaze, knowing full well what her daughter was speaking of.

"I was a cursed teen witch who felt overwhelmed by everything happening around me." continued Eda.

"I just wanted to run away, maybe to... something better. That was when I found my personal portal.

So I used it to escape to a whole new world, a different world... YOUR WORLD. And for a while, I liked it."

Anne paused as she realized Eda's words were starting to sound a lot like Marcy's.

Like Eda, Marcy also wanted to escape the harsh reality of her world and found a way with the Calamity Box

(Only difference being that Eda escaped on her own, and didn't drag any friends of hers along with her.)

"How long did you live in my world?" asked Anne.

"honestly... around the same amount of time Ollie was missing for." said Eda.

"Of course, that was only because I chose to stay for that long. But I eventually did return home.

Look, the point is I understand how difficult it is adjusting to living in a strange world.

Now, I am sorry that you are once again stranded here. But I promise to make your stay here comfortable.

You not only brought my baby boy back, but you made him happy again. And I will forever be grateful to you for that."

Anne smiled, feeling a warm feeling swell over her from hearing her boyfriend's mother say that.

Amity, however... just sunk in her seat. Eda's words only made her feel like her guilt

and shame was eating away at her like hundreds of flesh scarabs consuming her from within.

No matter how she looked at it, the message was loud and clear:

'Anne Boonchuy was a Healer, while Amity Blight was a Destroyer.'

"hey." spoke Luz. "Where is Olivier?, shouldn't he also be here?"

"probably sleeping in." spoke Eda. "It happens often."

Maddie looked up to her mentor's mother. "should I go check on him?"

Before an answer could be given, the group heard approaching footsteps.

They looked, and saw the auburn haired boy enter the dining room and stop to look at everyone.

"Morning, son." spoke Eda, smiling. "You sleep well?"

"no." answered Olivier, as he walked up to the table.

Olivier's eyes focused on Amity for a brief moment, before he averted his gaze.

"Over here, dear. I've already prepared your plate for you." spoke Gwendolyn. "It's all your favorites."

Olivier silently walked over and sat between Anne and Willow. However, sitting opposite from him was Luz... and Amity.

Obviously Olivier was looking at Amity with a none too pleasant expression on his tired face.

But he exhaled sharply and looked down at his plate of food, TRYING not to make any further eye contact.

Amity also looked down, feeling an uncomfortable awkwardness now. For a very long minute, no one said anything and just ate in silence.

"So, umm... Olivier." spoke Luz, breaking the silence.

Olivier looked at Luz, a softer expression now on his face. "yes?"

"Any plans for today?, I mean apart from obviously settling back into your old life and all."

Olivier shrugged. "It depends on what you mean by "Plans..." began Olivier.

"Long Term, my main goal is to find a way to keep my promise to Anne and return her back to family in the Human Realm.

Not to mention find a way back to Amphibia so to not only return Maddie and the Plantars home,

But to stop King Andrias from his insane Multi-Realm Invasion so we'll all still have homes."

Everyone had worried looks on their faces after hearing all that.

"Yeeeah... That is quite a 'To-Do List' you have there, kiddo." said Eda, trying to be supportive.

Olivier hummed as he took a bite of food, and drank it down. "I guess it is..." spoke Olivier.

"But it's something that I just can't ignore. Especially the looming threat of King Andrias."

"AND, Emperor Belos and the Day of Unity..." added Luz. "Whatever that is, it ALSO can't be good!"

"Yes, but One Crisis at a time, Luz." said Olivier. "As bad as Belos is, He isn't as big of a priority as Andrias."

Luz looked at Olivier like he was insane. "what are you saying?... Of COURSE HE'S A PRIORITY!

He has Eda's portal!, and I can't even IMAGINE what he is planning on doing with it!"

"I didn't say that Emperor Belos ISN'T a threat, he very much is." said Olivier, calmly.

"But as you said: We don't KNOW what he is planning... YET. And all he has is a stolen portal to Earth.

King Andrias, however... He has a robot army, a flying fortress and the means to open portals to ANY Realm.

If we focus only on stopping Emperor Belos, then what will we do when King Andrias suddenly appears here with his entire armada?!"

Luz fell silent for a moment as she pondered this.

"look... Luz. I get it." continued Olivier, his tone softer.

"Emperor Belos is a native threat who stole something of value from my mother, and with the Day of Unity hanging over our heads we have a bit of a ticking clock.

AND with King Andrias in another realm, it is very easy to dismiss him as a threat. BUT, a ticking clock that you cannot see continues to tick all the same.

We do know that the Human Realm is his primary target once he gets the Calamity Box working.

Which is not only Anne's world, but YOUR world as well. AND the Realm that Belos has interest in.

So, while Belos and Andrias are two different threats... They both align somehow.

But I would rather focus on the Greater of the two evils, and hopefully deal with them both in the end."

Olivier took a drink to wet his dry throat.

"don't forget Luz. I grew up in this world, so I know how dangerous Emperor Belos can be." continued Olivier.

"bringing him down won't be easy, I know. BUT he is at least 'easier' to deal with than King Andrias,

Who is something so much more dangerous that I want to stop him before he even has a chance to invade my home."

Olivier looked back to Luz. "Do you understand that now?"

Luz nodded. "ye-yeah... I do. But still... We could really use your help Olivier."

Anne (who had been silent for awhile) looked at Luz with soft eyes.

"Ollie isn't saying he isn't going to help you with this Emperor guy, Luz. We'll ALL help in any way we can.

But take it from a former slacker: You can't keep putting off important things until later.

Somehow we need to balance all this out, find a way to deal with both Belos AND Andrias."

"That does sound like a good idea, Anne." said Willow.

"Like maybe... We split into teams. One focuses on Belos, and the other on this Andrias guy."

"Sounds like a plan to me!" exclaimed Eda (trying to be supportive.)

"AHEM... MAYBE we should shift the conversation topic to something LESS perilous for now." said Gwendolyn.

"Like what, Grandma?" spoke Olivier.

"Oh, like what your short term plans currently are." continued Gwendolyn. "Such as what you plan on doing Today for starters."

Olivier took a moment to think. "I think... I think I'll stay here for about a week.

At least until I am certain that the Emperor's Coven has given up looking for me, Anne and the Frogs.

THEN we'll go back to the Owl House. I have so much to show Anne there, AND I kinda miss Hooty too."

"Splendid!" exclaimed Gwendolyn, overjoyed. "It'll be just like the good old days when you were little!"

Eda groaned, half annoyed at this (but completely understanding why.)

"Speaking of... I'd better swing by the old place real quick and see how Lil-, Hooty is doing." spoke Eda, as she stood up.

Olivier then also stood up and walked up to his mother. "Can I come with you, mom?"

"sorry, son. but things will go faster if I go solo." said Eda.

"oh... Well, you will be back right?" spoke Olivier, again.

"I... I really missed you mom. I get that things have... 'Changed' in the past months.

But I missed you every single day during that time. and I... I'm not ready for you to go away right now."

Anne's eyes became glossy upon hearing Olivier's words.

Eda then looked at Olivier with a soft expression and touched his face, wiping a tear away.

"I missed you too, son... I lost count how many times I cried myself to sleep from you being gone.

So if you think that I'll leave you alone anytime soon, then you may need a reminder of who your mother is.

I promise, I won't be gone long. I'll be back before you can even start to miss me.

And if you aren't too busy, we can have a whole Mother/Son Day together and make up for the time that we lost."

Olivier smiled. "I would like that mom... Very Much. and I'm sorry for-"

Eda placed her finger on Olivier's lips. "shush. don't apologize... That time has passed.

The important thing is that you're back, and I couldn't be more proud of you."

Eda then gave Olivier a tight and loving hug, which made both Anne and Luz coo like doves,

While Amity just looked down, once again wishing her own mother was more like Eda was to Olivier.

"but once we DO return to the Owl House... your ass is so grounded." said Eda, her tone instantly shifting.

"I was wondering if I was gonna be punished." mused Olivier, as Eda released him.

"Hey, I may be a rebel and an outlaw... But I am STILL a mother." said Eda.

"And while I am proud of all you've accomplished (and that very much includes Anne.)

I still need to punish you for breaking my rules when you should've known better than that."

Olivier sighed. "yeah... that's fair. So, what's my punishment then?"

Eda smirked and shrugged. "don't know yet. But once I've made up my mind, I'll let you know."

Olivier groaned in his throat. "...oh, joy."

Eda chuckled at this. "Now you sound like me when I used to get grounded at your age."

"Which happened more times that I care to remember." commented Gwendolyn in an annoyed tone.

"Not sure how I should feel about that." spoke Olivier.

"I think it's pretty cool!" exclaimed Anne. "In a "Like Mother, Like Son" kinda way."

Eda clicked her tongue and made double finger guns at Anne. "Got that right!" Eda then lightly punched Olivier's shoulder.

*you made an excellent choice picking her, son.* whispered Eda. *she'll make a great future Mrs. Clawthorne one day.*

"Mom..."spoke Olivier, half embarrassed.

Eda smiled and gave Olivier a smooch on his head. "be back soon, baby."

Olivier watched as his mother left the room. Once she was gone, the boy exhaled sharply. feeling a strange anxiety that he couldn't explain.

He then felt a hand touch his shoulder.

Looking over, he saw Anne standing there... Looking at him with her soft, hazel eyes.

"I know it goes without saying, but... You do have an awesome mom, Ollie." said Anne.

"Yeah!" exclaimed Luz, walking up. "Eda's totally Kickass!, I'm almost jealous that you got to grow up with her!"

Amity silently agreed with Luz' statement (though for different reasons.)

"thanks." said Olivier.

Maddie then hopped over to Olivier. "Are you okay, Olivier? You seem kinda... Depressed."

Olivier breathed out. "nothing escapes you, does it Mads."

Maddie forced herself to smile. Olivier then frowned.

"so much is... Different now." began Olivier, his tone glum. "I can't explain it... but the world I left isn't the same one I've returned to.

Most things are the same, yes. but... certain things just feel very off for some reason."

Luz frowned, wondering if she might have something to do with Olivier's depressed feelings.

"Different... doesn't have to mean Bad, right?" spoke Luz.

Olivier looked at Luz and forced himself to smile.

"well... SOME changes I don't mind having. You being one of them."

Luz smiled, feeling relieved to hear that.

"still... things ARE different." continued Olivier. "and I may need some time to adjust to these changes."

"Hey, take it from me: It's not easy adjusting to changes in your life." said Anne.

"And I know it isn't quite the same as it was in Amphibia, But just like back then: You don't have to deal with this alone."

"She's right." spoke Willow, as she also approached Olivier.

"We all needed to go through changes in our lives. Some are more extreme than others.

And while I have no doubt you can adapt, it never hurts to accept help from people who love you."

Olivier smiled at Anne, Luz and Willow. Feeling great comfort from them.

But then Amity stood up and approached, yet kept her distance.

Olivier looked at her with his usual coldness that most were unfortunately used to... and then Amity spoke.

"I know you won't believe me when I say that I'm sorry for the part I played in how yours,

and Willow's lives were changed because of the terrible decisions I made... So I won't even try to.

Instead... I will just say that I am certain you can get through whatever is going on with you.

You've already accomplished so much, despite how much the odds were stacked against you Olivier.

And even though you won't want my support, I will still give it if you ever need it... like I SHOULD'VE done."

There was a long silence as Olivier emotionlessly stared at Amity, their eyes locked and refusing to blink.

Finally, Olivier wordlessly turned and began to walk away.

Amity breathed out sharply, half relieved that Olivier didn't respond to her in anger.

But also half disappointed that her once second best friend didn't even say a word to her at all.

"oh-olivier?" spoke Luz.

"one hour." said Olivier, briefly stopping.

"Huh?"

"Blight gets one more hour." repeated Olivier.

"oh." said Luz, disappointment in her voice.

"understood." said Amity, softly. "thank you for allowing me to-

"save your thanks for my mother." said Olivier, coldly. "SHE'S the one who convinced me to even allow you to stay here longer.

If I had it my way, you'd already be out the door the very moment the sun started to rise."

Amity frowned, looking down sadly. Olivier then approached Amity, and looked her right in the eyes.

"let's get something clear here, Blight... I don't hate you. I wish it were that simple, but it isn't.

When I first saw your face again after three years, I will admit that I couldn't control my rage.

Just the very sight of you reignited painful memories in me that I tried so hard to keep buried.

And when it all came bubbling back to the surface by your very presence, I couldn't restrain myself..."

Olivier then let out a deep, stressful sigh. "But the worst of my anger is all out... NOW, I feel nothing."

"Oh!, so you're not mad at her anymore?" chirped Luz, hopeful.

Olivier glanced at Luz, giving a look that made it clear that this wasn't the case.

"no. I mean I don't feel ANYTHING... at all." continued Olivier, returning his attention to the Blight Heiress.

"I feel nothing for you Amity... NOTHING. No Hate... No Love. you're nothing to me now."

Amity flinched, feeling as if a dagger was driven straight through her heart.

But what hurt most about Olivier's words... was that THEY had been her OWN words that she had once spoken to him.

(("you mean nothing to me anymore, Olivier. you are nothing."))echoed the voice of a 'different' Amity Blight

Amity looked down, unable to look Olivier in the eye.

"ONE. HOUR."repeated Olivier. "use your time wisely."

As Olivier began to walk away, he approached Anne and gave his girlfriend a kiss on the cheek.

Anne half smiled, appreciating the kiss but also feeling concerned for him at the same time.

But Olivier had already left the room before anyone could say anything else to him.

"dios mio... he's almost like two people sharing the same body." spoke Luz, stunned at what she saw.

"Believe it or not, he is much better than how he used to be." said Anne, staring off.

"when I first met Ollie... it was like his heart was not only frozen, but locked in a box.

He was... friendly enough, but was otherwise emotionally distant and... cold."

Amity (still shaken) responded with a frown, and a silent nod.

"I wish I could've known Olivier BEFORE all this drama happened." said Luz.

"In that memory illusion we saw, he seemed so Happy and Cheerful. It was like he was a completely different person!"

"he was..." spoke Willow, with nostalgia. "he really was."

"He was the sweetest boy you would've ever met." said Gwendolyn, as she did kitchen work.

"So energetic and joyful. And even with my little sweet flea's 'questionable' upbringing,

Little Ollie always wanted to help other people, and felt great compassion for someone else's misfortune.

He would never call himself anyone's hero... but he certainly acted like one."

Anne smiled as her memories of her time with Olivier in Amphibia came back to her.

"I can believe that..." said Anne, smiling warmly.

"even when I first met him, back when he was a distrustful recluse, Ollie always did the right thing in the end.

Even when the people he met really didn't deserve his help, he still helped them anyway... and I admired that about him."

"Kill them with Kindness." said Gwendolyn with pride. "Sometimes that is more satisfying than mimicking another's cruelty."

Amity breathed out deeply. "I don't deserve any kindness for what I did."

All eyes then fell on Amity as continued to frown, her eyes getting glossy.

"you are all right: Olivier was a sweet boy. He was the first and only boy that I liked.

But I ruined him. I took that sweet boy, and crushed his heart in my hand.

It's almost like I killed the good person that he was... and I will never forgive myself for that."

Luz was about to say something to give Amity some comfort, but Anne beat her to it.

"That sweet boy is still in there, Amity." said Anne, her tone neutral. "If he wasn't, then we might've never fallen in love when we did.

Yes, you did hurt him... But don't pin ALL the blame on yourself. What you did to Ollie is nothing compared to what that Boscha girl did to him."

"I know. but I still helped her do... THAT." confessed Amity. "Ollie was my best friend. and like with Willow, I betrayed his trust."

Anne breathed out, trying hard to find some middle ground.

"Amity... even if you Hadn't helped Boscha, she STILL would've assaulted him anyway."

"I should've stood by him..." continued Amity. "I could've stopped it, I could've protected him."

Anne nodded. "yeah... I wish I could've stopped it from happening too."

The Thai Girl then raised her head up, a sad look on her face.

"when Olivier finally told me in detail how he got his scars... I had a hard time sleeping the following night.

I kept dreaming about the event, seeing it happen in front of me and being powerless to do anything about it.

No matter how hard I tried to stop it, I couldn't... because I wasn't there when it happened."

"well, I was," said Amity. "I watched it all happen, and did nothing. and when Ollie begged me for help... I did nothing."

Anne twitched, feeling some anger that she managed to repress.

Yes, despite trying to cheer her up, Anne still didn't trust Amity, and was still mad at her for what she did.

But just like with Sasha and Marcy, she was trying to keep her emotions in check and be more compassionate.

The fact that Amity was showing any remorse was enough for Anne to show her compassion.

"look. I know it seems hopeless, but don't throw in the towel just yet." said Anne, forcing a smile.

"Ollie said similar things in his first month in Amphibia, but eventually warmed up to the people who hurt him.

I realize this is something different that runs deeper, but it's like they say in my world: "Never Say Never."

Amity looked at Anne... and somehow what the human girl said did manage to lift her spirits.

Maybe things weren't hopeless Afterall.

It was then around this point that everyone noticed something...

...Luz had disappeared.

In Eda and Lilith's old room, Olivier was sitting on Eda's old bed, a deep expression on his face.

His leg and fingers were twitching as he began to replay recent events in his head on repeat.

He didn't know why... but he felt 'troubled' over his last conversation with Amity Blight.

Not a word he had said to her was false. He had spoken the brutal truth that he wanted nothing more to do with her anymore.

Part of him felt satisfied. After three years of abandonment, Amity was finally getting a taste of her own medicine.

So, why did her hurt reaction after he said those words (the SAME words she once said to him) make him feel... ashamed?

(("she deserved it.")) said a dark voice in his head. (("she hurt us."))

("hurting her back doesn't make us any better.")spoke a softer voice in Olivier's head.

Olivier groaned as he held his head tight, trying to silence the voices in his head. "quiet... shut up!"

("forgive her, Olivier. she was your friend.")spoke the soft voice.

(("WAS our friend. Now she is our enemy.")) retorted the dark voice. (("NEVER forgive her... EVER."))

"SILENCE!"exclaimed Olivier, gritting his teeth.

"o-olivier?" Olivier looked to see none other than Luz Noceda standing at the door. "are you okay?"

Olivier breathed out sharply, and inhaled deeply. "i'm fine. just... trying to think."

Luz frowned, feeling concerned for her mentor's son.

Even though her mother was a veterinarian, she wasn't ignorant to 'human' medical sciences.

And having walked in on Olivier holding his head and screaming for silence made it clear to the Afro-Latina girl that Olivier was suffering from mental trauma.

(and based on all she had learned last night, this wasn't all that surprising.)

"may I come in?" asked Luz, her voice soft.

Olivier breathed out. Unsure if it was wise to let Luz near him currently. "I'm sure you have better things to do than waste time around me."

"It can wait... I want to spend some time with you." said Luz.

"right. and I'm sure this has nothing to do with Blight."

Luz averted her gaze, which was all the confirmation that Olivier needed. "...thought so."

Luz bore a determined look on her face as she finally walked into the room.

She then sat down next to Olivier... and for a full minute, neither one said anything.

"I know I don't have all the facts yet..." spoke Luz, finally. "But I think I know enough."

"do you?"

"I know that Amity isn't entirely to blame for your pain," said Luz. "I get your anger towards Boscha, but...

Amity's sorry for what she did (whatever it was.) She is TRYING to be a better person, and I just don't understand why you can't-"

"You answered your own question, Luz." said Olivier. "You DON'T understand, so don't judge me for how I feel."

"I'm not judging you, Olivier... and I'm sorry if it seemed like I was." said Luz.

"Look, I get why you're angry at Amity. She... wasn't always a nice person.

When I first came to this realm, she used to bully me too. Even I didn't used to like her."

Olivier's expression finally softened upon hearing this. He then looked to Luz.

"what did she used to do to you?"

Luz frowned as she forced herself to remember things about Amity that she tried to forget.

"well... the first time we met was when I tried to pretend to be an Abomination to help Willow." began Luz.

"Amity became suspicious of my trick though, and I was nearly dissected like a frog because of her."

This statement just made Olivier's blood boil.

"After that, she mainly bullied me and Willow with Boscha and her friends.

She belittled me... mocked my dream of being a witch despite not having any real magic."

"Yep, that sounds like the Amity Blight that I know." scoffed Olivier.

"Yes, but the point is that I know how bad she used to be... yet *I* forgave her for all of that!" said Luz.

"And if I could forgive and give her a second chance, then I don't see why you can't!"

Olivier stared at Luz for a moment. "It's different for me Luz. YOU only knew Amity as a bully first, and see her as "a redeemed mean girl."

But I knew Amity Blight LONG before she became the monster that you first met. You say she's good now?...

she was ALREADY good before, but then suddenly changed. If she could change from Good-to-Bad,

and then from Bad-to-Good again. What makes you so sure the cycle won't just continue all over again?!

Amity Blight may be a better person NOW... but will she really stay that way?

Even recovered addicts can fall back into their old bad habits. This would be no different."

Luz frowned, feeling she wasn't getting through to Olivier at all.

"I'm sorry you feel that way Olivier..."

Olivier said nothing in response... but then flinched when Luz suddenly started hugging him.

"I'm sorry for what happened to you." spoke Luz. "I wish I could take all your pain away.

But I just want you to know that no matter what happens... I'll always be there for you."

Olivier's eyes started to water... he then breathed out and hugged Luz back.

"you know... it's funny. I've always wanted to have a sister." spoke Olivier, his voice now softer.

"Not a brother, oddly enough. Just a sister... But mom always acted weird when I asked her about that."

Luz chuckled lightly as she and Olivier parted. "Well, you got one now... if you'll have me."

"Couldn't ask for anyone better." said Olivier. "just... be careful, alright?"

Luz knew that Olivier was referring to Amity... and how 'close' she was to her.

"Don't worry about me, Ollie. "This MAMA is Prepared for TRAUMA!"

Olivier frowned at that statement. "for your sake... I hope you never need to be."
