Crystal cried louder as she heard that. "Mommy! You said you'd get them to apologize on their knees! Why are you apologizing to her now? She's just a bastard!"
Henry's face darkened at her words. Looking furious, he asked sternly, "Who's the bastard?"
Lexie was scared out of her wits seeing Henry in a rage.
She quickly changed her attitude and pointed at Crystal. "What are you talking about? You're the bastard! Your Dad and I divorced a long time ago! You're the bastard now!"
She then turned to Henry and smiled sheepishly in an obsequious manner. "Mr. Stevens, please forgive her silliness. My daughter is fatherless. She's the bastard herself. That's why she sees everyone as a bastard!" she said.
Henry was speechless at her pathetic manner.
