Chapter 408 - Chapter 408: Ghost Licking People

Father and son were taken aback.

Old Guan blurted out, "A coffin?!"

"You got it, it's the shape of a coffin!" Lu Fei nodded, "Old Guan, think about it, what is a coffin used for?"

"To hold the dead." Old Guan replied.

"Exactly! A coffin-shaped house is a major taboo in feng shui, it must lead to fatalities! Living in such a house, how can your family not have problems?"

After Lu Fei finished speaking, Old Guan's eyes widened in terror, and he looked at the beautiful house with even more fear.

  "Coffin room?"

With a mix of doubt and belief, Xiao Guan took a rope and a level to measure multiple times. The result sent chills down his spine.

  "It really is!"

The thought of him and his wife living in a coffin every day filled him with dread.

A difference of a few centimeters is imperceptible to the naked eye. He didn't know if it was intentional during the renovation or an unintentional mistake by the workers.

"Manager Lu, my wife's incident was due to the layout of the house? How can we resolve this?" His gaze toward Lu Fei changed significantly, and his tone became much more respectful.

However, just identifying the problem was not enough; it needed to be solved.

"Simple, just demolish the house and rebuild it," Lu Fei smiled.

  "Is that all it takes?"

Both father and son were taken aback.

"Do we need to perform any rituals or exorcisms?"

"For feng shui problems caused by the layout, changing the arrangement will naturally solve the issue. But your house has another problem."

  "What?"

"Mr. Guan, you forgot, someone died in this house. The resentment from an unnatural death does not dissipate. By just altering the coffin room, it's not enough; you also need to help the lingering spirits transcend." Lu Fei smiled.

The father and son started to shiver, looking around uneasily.

"Is helping them transcend difficult?" Mr. Guan leaned closer to Lu Fei, lowering his voice, as if he was afraid of being overheard by something in the house.

"I'll stay tonight and try. They are just some spirits, it shouldn't be too hard." Lu Fei looked relaxed.

"Some?" Xiao Guan caught the key point sensitively, "Manager Lu, there is more than one ghost in the house?"

"Mr. Guan said that the tenant who died in this house was a girl, but what you saw in the bathroom was a man's arm." Lu Fei explained methodically, "Moreover, when you were sleeping on the sofa, you felt a tongue licking your foot, right?"

"Yes, that happened, but I didn't see anything after I woke up, my foot just hurt for a few days... What else is there?" Xiao Guan nodded, his face pale, and the thought of that wet sensation made him extremely uncomfortable.

"Just try it again tonight, and we'll know! These types of evil spirits are all different, so there's a good chance it's not just one."

The father and son were almost numb with fear.

All they did was buy a second-hand house; why did this happen to them!

  The sun was setting.

The room was getting darker, and the sense of cold gloom was becoming more and more apparent. Just standing in the house gave them the feeling that their hair was standing on end.

"Old Guan, one of you staying here is enough."

"I'll stay. Dad, you go to the hospital and check on Mom and Xiaohui," Xiaoguan volunteered, despite his fear.

"Alright then! Manager Lu, I'm counting on you. Please be very careful!"

Old Guan looked at his son with concern, giving him many instructions before leaving reluctantly.

Xiaoguan turned on all the lights in the rooms, but still felt the oppressive darkness inside.

"The renovation of this place must have cost a fortune! Such a fine house turned into something resembling a coffin. I wonder what the original owner was thinking!" Huzi looked around the newly renovated house, shaking his head and making a face, with an expression of regret.

"The original owner has already moved abroad. I don't know who to ask." Xiao Guan had a bitter expression on his face and glanced at the sofa warily.

Ever since his feet were licked by a tongue, he didn't dare to sit on the sofa again.

"The reason doesn't matter. What's important now is to clean up your house as soon as possible." Lu Fei, calm and composed, put down the little black dog.

The little one wandered around the room, sniffing everywhere, and finally stopped in the kitchen.

  Lu Fei walked over.

The main valve for the natural gas in the kitchen was closed, but there seemed to be something wrong with the connection between the pipe and the stove.

Lu Fei pulled out the pipe and, to his surprise, found a dead cockroach clogging it.

"How did it get in there?

Xiao Guan followed and, seeing the dead cockroach inside, felt very helpless.

"This house is clearly very clean, and we are also very mindful of hygiene, but cockroaches keep appearing. I have no idea where they're coming from. My wife has been scared several times, and I've checked every corner of the house, but haven't found any nests. The insecticide I used doesn't seem to work either."

"Places with bad feng shui and negative energy tend to attract these kinds of insects. It's not necessarily related to cleanliness."

Lu Fei seemed to be in deep thought but didn't say much more.

The sky was pitch black, and the lights of countless homes were shining outside, but inside the Xiao Guan household, it was cold and eerie.

"Manager Lu, don't we need to prepare anything?" Xiao Guan was restless.

"No need for all that trouble! Mr. Xiao Guan, just behave as you normally do at home and go about your usual activities." Lu Fei calmly sat down on the sofa, "I want to see what kind of creature likes to lick people's feet."

"If it dares to come, it will get a taste of my Hu Zi lord's delicious paws!" Hu Zi also plopped down on the sofa.

Even the little black dog climbed up onto the sofa.

Xiao Guan hesitated, then, still feeling uneasy, decided not to sit on the sofa and instead brought over a chair from the side.

The room was so quiet it made his heart race, so he turned on the TV.

The TV show dispelled a bit of the loneliness, but he couldn't focus on it at all. His mind was uncontrollably filled with terrifying speculations.

  As he watched.

Perhaps days of busyness had left him utterly exhausted, his eyelids dropped involuntarily, and he dozed off without realizing it.

  In a daze.

  He heard a strange sound.

  "So fragrant! So fragrant!"

He groggily opened his eyes and found that the living room light had been turned off at some point, and the TV was flickering with a dim glow.

And he was sitting on the sofa!

There was a damp feeling under his feet, and he looked down.

A long, red tongue extended from beneath the sofa, licking the soles of his feet vigorously.

  Sss— Sss—

Every lick felt as if a layer of skin was being scraped off the sole of his foot, burning painfully.

  "Ah..."

Little Guan was so frightened that his soul nearly left his body. He tried desperately to shake off that disgusting tongue, only to find that his body was as heavy as if it were filled with lead and couldn't move at all.

  "Don't panic."

Just as he was in extreme terror, a warm and strong hand pressed down on his shoulder.

  Then, immediately after.

A ghost-repelling charm was placed on his body.

In the next moment, the tongue was suddenly repelled as if it had been electrocuted.

The tongue, loath to leave, lingered below the sofa before turning to seek its next target, quickly locking onto Hu Zi's dainty feet.

The tongue reached out to lick the bottom of Huzi's foot greedily.

  "So fragrant..."

However, the moment the tongue touched the rough sole, it suddenly drew back.

  "So, so, so stinky..."
