Chapter 388 - Chapter 388: Black Widow

The eight eyes were full of hatred, and its limbs were pressed against the ground.

The white-haired ghost, like a giant insect, twisted its body, and suddenly a strand of web shot out from its navel, forming a large net that pounced towards Lu Fei and Jing Jian.

  The two immediately dodged.

The white net missed and stuck to the wall.

The white-haired ghost, using the silk thread, leaped forward and hung upside down on the wall.

  "This is... a spider?!"

Jing Jian's face turned pale with shock.

  "Correct!"

Lu Fei, holding the lightning-struck wood, was staring intently at the eerily behaving white-haired ghost.

"There is a highly venomous spider called the black widow. After mating with the male spider, this type of spider will eat its mate to gain nutrients for laying eggs."

"You mean Xiang has been afflicted by the spider curse and her body has transformed into a black widow? That's why she specifically abducts men?" Although it made sense, Jing Jian still found it unbelievable, his eyes wide open.

"That should be it, but she does not absorb nutrients for laying eggs, but to produce the golden silk that the Jin father and son are after!" Lu Fei said, feeling a chill in his heart.

Just how valuable could the golden silk be, for the Jin father and son to turn a living person into a monster!

"That pair of father and son are worse than pigs and dogs; calling them beasts would be an insult to the beasts!" Jing Jian cursed furiously.

Although the white-haired ghost was in a terrifying state, full of hostility towards them, and even wanted to eat them.

He just couldn't bring himself to hate this monster.

"Brother Jing, let's do it! We don't need to do anything with the golden thread silk, let's give it a release!"

  Lu Fei raised his hand.

The lightning struck the jujube stick, flashing with electricity.

Jing Jian also lifted the Seven Stars magic sword, on which the starlight faintly flowed.

The white-haired ghost seemed to sense the threat, its face became sinister, and its mouth opened wide.

There was no tongue, only tube-like mouthparts, from which black venom spewed out.

  Boom!

At the same time, the lightning flew out in a flash.

  Outside the dormitory.

"There's movement, have they made their move?"

Tie Shenglan leaped down gently from the big tree, landing steadily on her feet.

"Anyway, that father and son have already gone out, no point waiting anymore." Zhang Molin jumped down as well.

The two exchanged a glance and quickly ran towards the dormitory.

  Rustle rustle—

But at this moment, strange sounds were heard all around.

It was the sound of many insects scurrying rapidly.

  "It's that woman!"

Tie Shenglan's ears twitched, and she turned around, her scalp tingling instantly.

Densely packed insects crawled out from the darkness, gradually surrounding the two of them.

  "Be careful!"

Zhang Molin threw out a fire spirit talisman, and the approaching insects were instantly burned into dried corpses, the smell of char spreading through the air.

  "She's over there!"

Tie Shenglan, holding a pair of flail rods, looked toward the back of the swarm of insects.

There stood a tall woman with a fiery figure, the very same exotic woman they had seen during the day.

"I knew you wouldn't give up."

Sally walked toward them in high heels, swaying her hips, her red lips parting to emit a voice as rough and comically toned as that of Li Kui's.

  "Who's speaking?"

  "Is there another one?"

Tie Shenglan and Zhang Moliden's faces changed dramatically, and they turned to look around, but they only saw the woman, leaving them utterly perplexed.

"I wonder what Chinese cultivators taste like; I really want to try."

Sally snorted coldly and licked her lips.

A large, furry black spider emerged from behind her waist, crawling up her tattoo-covered arm and onto her shoulder.

On its fist-sized head, eight eyes greedily scanned the two as if searching for prey, finally settling on Zhang Moliden.

Staring at such a bizarre gaze, Zhang Moliden couldn't help but shiver.

"Miss Shenglan, be careful! This woman is not a kind person!"

"It's so obvious, do you even need to remind me?"

The two were already surrounded by a swarm of insects, gripping their magical instruments tightly with grave expressions.

"These are all venomous bugs, we shouldn't engage in a direct confrontation! I will clear a path, Miss Shenglan, find a chance to escape and go find Lu Fei and the others..."

As Zhang Molin spoke, two Fire Spirit Talismans appeared in his hand.

"Run away? There is no such thing as running away in my dictionary!"

Tie Shenglan swung her paired maces, with talisman light flowing on them, and her bright eyes locked onto Sally.

"Capture the leader first! Once that non-male, non-female thing is dealt with, these little bugs will be no problem at all!"

  After saying that,

she charged forward, swinging her maces so fast they left afterimages, sending a swarm of poisonous insects flying.

Zhang Molin quickly followed, throwing out two Fire Spirit Talismans, one to the left and one to the right.

A large number of insects were burned to death, and it would take some time for new ones to replenish.

Under his cover, Tie Shenglan dashed over the charred insect corpses, straight toward Sally.

"Oh? You've actually got some skills."

Sally's thick eyebrows furrowed, and her arm, covered in peculiar tattoos, stretched forward.

  "Go, my baby!"

The furry black spider crawled along her arm, leaped from her palm, and disappeared into the darkness.

"As long as you get rid of that girl, her body will be yours."

Sally laughed coldly and stepped back.

  "Trying to escape? No way!"

Tie Shenglan saw this, and his long eyebrows raised, quickening his pace.

Zhang Molin was in a panic, afraid that the poisonous insects would crawl onto her. He continuously threw out fire spirit talismans.

The ground by his feet was filled with burning bugs, and the air was thick with a strong, burnt smell.

In less than a minute, his stock of spirit talismans was completely depleted.

  "Stop!"

Tie Shenglan leaped over the swarm of insects, blocking Sally with a cold gaze.

"A sorcerer from Nanyang, daring to come to our Huaxia to harm people! You have some nerve! Do you think that the mystic sect of Huaxia does not exist?"

"Mystic sect of Huaxia? How interesting."

Sally examined Tie Shenglan with great interest, giving an evil smile.

"Pretty girl, just right to be the vessel for my queen bug. I won't be polite."

Before her words faded, a fist-sized spider suddenly shot out from the darkness, rushing towards Tie Shenglan's back like lightning.

  "Shenglan, watch out!"

Zhang Molin shouted anxiously and hurled his coin sword at the spider.

Tie Shenglan reacted quickly, dodging to the side and counter-striking with her twin maces.

The spider leaped through the air and vanished once again into the darkness.

The money sword pierced the air and was about to fall, when Tie Shenglan caught it and threw it back to Zhang Molin.

"It's behind you, it appeared again!"

While running, Zhang Molin shouted and reached out to catch the money sword.

Tie Shenglan didn't have time to turn around; instead, she swung her maces with a backhand, but the spider dodged at an incredible angle and landed on her shoulder.

  Her body stiffened.

She immediately channeled her magic power and shook her shoulder forcefully.

However, the spider's eight limbs, with their hooked spines, clung firmly to her skin. Its mouth opened, revealing a needle-like appendage that thrust viciously toward her fair neck.

  "Miss Shenglan!"

Zhang Molin was shocked; he threw the money sword at the spider once more.

"What's the rush, it's almost your turn."

Sally sneered contemptuously and waved her hand lightly.

A swarm of poisonous insects flew over, easily holding back the money sword.

Zhang Molin was burning with anxiety, rushing forward regardless of the poisonous insects.

Just as the spider's fangs were about to pierce through Tie Shenglan's skin,

Sally suddenly turned deathly pale, spitting out a mouthful of black blood. She clutched her heaving chest with both hands, gasping in pain.

"The backlash of the black magic..."
