Chapter 331 - Chapter 331: A Fallen True Dragon is Not as Good as a Demon

The black flood dragon's power was waning.

Having been struck by backlash, it was not even as strong as that python.

With the help of the black umbrella, Lu Fei leaped out of the water and flipped onto the back of the black flood dragon.

Without any hesitation, the last layer of mana was infused, and the jujube wood stick struck down directly.

  Boom!

Electric light spread across the black scales.

The black dragon let out a heart-wrenching shriek, thrashing its body. Lu Fei was thrown back, but the black umbrella immediately caught up, grabbing him by the hair.

Jing Jian swam hard in the water to avoid being hit.

  After a futile struggle.

The black dragon smashed heavily into the water, its vertical pupils flashing with resentment and hatred, its body heaving as it clung to life.

"Brother Jing, I'm out of mana, you go for the finishing blow." Holding the black umbrella, Lu Fei slowly descended into the water, enduring the dizziness from mana depletion, and shouted to Jing Jian.

  "Got it!"

Jing Jian immediately approached the black dragon with the Seven Star Magic Sword.

At the seven-inch mark, black scales shattered, flesh and skin were charred, and black blood gushed out.

Half of the water was dyed red.

One more strike, and this black flood dragon will surely meet King Yan!

Taking a deep breath, suppressing his inner agitation, Jing Jian raised his ritual sword.

  The Seven Stars rune circulated.

The black flood dragon's eyes suddenly widened, its dark green vertical pupils quivering intensely, and it suddenly opened its mouth, spewing a jet of blood at Jing Jian.

Jing Jian was pushed back by the water column.

With its remaining strength, the black flood dragon raised its head and took a powerful suction from the pool.

The water surface swirled, and a pitch-black vortex emerged.

  "What is it doing?"

Lu Fei, worried that Jing Jian might be at a disadvantage, swam forward.

As the monster inhaled, wisps of white vapor rose from the vortex and entered its nostrils.

The wounds on the black flood dragon's body actually began to heal.

That white vapor seemed to contain a rich spiritual energy!

  "What's happening?"

The two of them were both surprised and uncertain.

As the black flood dragon inhaled, the water surface below rippled, and white bones scattered around.

An ancient and massive beast head emerged.

On top of its head, a pair of dragon horns grew.

"That is—" Lu Fei widened his eyes in disbelief.

  A dragon?!

There was actually a dragon hiding beneath the pond.

  Is it really a dragon?

"No, what's going on?" Jin Jian was completely bewildered.

White spiritual energy was emerging from the dragon's head. As the black flood dragon absorbed it, the already ancient dragon head became increasingly fragile.

"It's absorbing the dragon's aura! Quick, stop it!" Lu Fei suddenly realized, his face turning pale with shock, "If it fully recovers, we are all dead!"

With that, he threw out the black umbrella.

Strands of long hair fluttered, coiling around the black flood dragon at its seven-inch mark and, on the other side, pulling Jin Jian towards it.

  "Act quickly!"

  Lu Fei shouted urgently.

Jing Jian clung to the black flood dragon, gritting his teeth, activating all the magic power beneath him, and thrust the Seven Stars Magic Sword with all his might into the dragon's vital spot.

  Starlight scattered.

The black flood dragon's body shook violently, yet it still desperately sucked in the dragon qi.

  The water rippled.

Under the water, the dragon head slowly rose, biting down on the black flood dragon's head.

  Black blood gushed out.

The black flood dragon's body finally stopped moving.

Jing Jian slipped into the water, and the black umbrella returned to Lu Fei's hand.

The blood almost turned the entire pool red.

The dragon head released the black flood dragon's head, crashing heavily into the water, panting as if utterly exhausted.

Lu Fei and Jing Jian looked at it in shock.

Its dark golden pupils emitted a weak light. This was a dragon old beyond its years, with nearly all of its teeth missing and its scales patchy and faded.

  It looked utterly pathetic.

It completely lacked the imposing aura of the ancient divine beasts from legends.

"So Old Master Duan was right. There really is dragon energy here. But if it's a true dragon, why is it being suppressed underwater by a monster?"

Lu Fei was overwhelmed with amazement.

"Lu Fei, are you sure this is a true dragon? Isn't this just another illusion created by a monster?" Jing Jian rubbed his eyes, attempting to activate his powers.

But his dantian was empty; he truly had no strength left.

"It's real! Dragon energy is completely different from demonic energy." Once the water calmed, Lu Fei squinted and looked down at the dragon's head.

Its massive body was faintly visible, wedged deep in the darkness.

"Perhaps half of the legend is true. There really was a dragon that failed to transcend, and it fell here. But the people of Balong Village didn't help it; it has been trapped in the cave, bullied by monsters."

  Lu Fei speculated.

"It's really... a true dragon in distress is no better than a monster!" Jing Jian was dumbfounded, "But what about that dragon-suppressing stone that pinned down the black flood dragon?"

"Perhaps it was the work of this dragon....."

Lu Fei thought of the old madman who had asked for water, feeling that these two things should be related.

The ragged appearance of the old madman and the weak, aged dragon were uncannily similar.

After panting for a while, the massive head of the old dragon turned slightly, and its ancient eyes looked at Lu Fei, faintly showing a plea for help.

"Do you want us to help you get out of here?" Lu Fei probed gently.

  The ancient eyes blinked lightly.

"Lu Fei, this is a real dragon! We have to help it!" Jing Jian was extremely excited.

"But we are only mortals, without the strength to free it from where it is stuck," Lu Fei spoke the truth.

The old dragon breathed weakly, its ancient eyes fixed on Lu Fei.

Lu Fei was taken aback, as if a thread of divine consciousness had drilled into his mind. Then, he opened his backpack and rummaged through it, pulling out a small, black pill.

This was the black elixir dissected from the human-faced eel, whose purpose he had never known and thus never used.

  "Do you want this?"

  The old dragon blinked.

  "Friend Lu, Friend Lu!"

At that moment, a hurried voice came from behind, calling for He Yunsong.

With Wu Tie's help, He Yunsong was struggling to swim over.

  "Elder He, what's wrong?"

"This is a real dragon! Although it is weak and old, its aura is genuine! I told you, Old Duan wouldn't be wrong!" There was an irresistible joy in He Yunsong's voice.

"Yes, I didn't expect there to really be a dragon." Lu Fei looked at He Yunsong with a strange expression.

It's normal for people to be excited when they see a legendary dragon, but it seemed he had another meaning.

"Young friend Lu, tell me the truth..." He Yunsong pulled Lu Fei to one side, his voice very low, "Is this dragon about to die?"

"It looks like it's only holding on by a thread." Lu Fei frowned slightly.

"There are both bones and a real dragon here. If... I mean if, it dies, could this place start growing elderberries?"

He Yunsong stared intently at Lu Fei, his eyes flickering with hope.

Lu Fei looked at his old face and suddenly felt a sense of disgust.

  "It won't die."

After saying that, Lu Fei swam up to the old dragon and opened his palm.

Compared to the old dragon, the tiny black pill was so insignificant.

Lu Fei still had snake pills and snake gallbladders, but the old dragon only wanted this smallest one.

  "Here you go!"

A sparkling tear rolled down, the old dragon's battered body trembled slightly as it tried its best to nod at Lu Fei, then opened its mouth, which was almost toothless.

The black pill flew into the old dragon's mouth.
