Chapter 203: Absorbing the Dan River
After charging through the ancient doorway, Lin Langtian and his group found themselves in a desolate, lifeless space. Both the sky and ground were dull and gray, and violent spatial waves rippled through the air, making the area seem unstable.
"So this is the ancient treasure realm?" Mo Ling said in awe, looking around the vast, seemingly endless space.
Lin Langtian surveyed the area and noticed several gray spatial cracks floating in the dim void. These cracks varied in size and could be easily overlooked, but stepping into one by accident would mean a certain and fatal outcome.
"Everyone, be cautious and stay close," Lin Langtian instructed. Then, turning his gaze in another direction, he focused on their next objective: finding a vast amount of Nirvana Pills to aid in their breakthroughs.
With that, he led the way, swiftly moving forward, with most of the Flame Alliance members following close behind.
They traveled for almost an hour, passing through vast ruins of massive stones and occasionally encountering other treasure-seekers who were combing through the rubble in groups like locusts, picking everything clean. Lin Langtian, however, was uninterested in these scattered treasures, pressing onward at full speed. After some time, he noticed that the surrounding bleakness was diminishing.
"It seems we're getting deeper into the treasure realm. The Nirvana Dan River shouldn't be far now…" Observing these changes, Lin Langtian quickened his pace. A few minutes later, the sound of rushing water echoed from the distant space.
Hearing the sound, Lin Langtian smiled faintly, crossing a massive floating island as he gazed ahead. About ten thousand meters away, amidst the endless gray, a massive red river stretched across the sky. Its source was unknown, disappearing into the vastness of the space, an awe-inspiring sight.
"This must be the Dan River…"
Lin Langtian smiled. He knew this wasn't an ordinary river but one made entirely of Nirvana Pills—a Nirvana Dan River!
"Is this the Dan River? A river formed from Nirvana Pills… incredible!" Liu Yuan and Ling Zhi exclaimed in shock and delight. "We definitely made the right choice to follow our senior brother!"
Lin Langtian chuckled. He had delayed breaking through to the Nirvana Realm because he knew he would find an abundance of Nirvana energy here. This colossal river was so vast that he doubted he could even absorb one ten-thousandth of it.
With a wave of his hand, Lin Langtian led the Flame Alliance members closer to the Dan River. The dense Nirvana energy, so concentrated that it had liquified, flowed through the crimson river in thick currents.
Suddenly, as they approached the Dan River, the red water erupted with a splash. A hazy, fiery-red figure shot out like lightning, sending a razor-sharp gust straight toward Lin Langtian.
"Bam!"
A demonic fist shot from behind Lin Langtian, shattering the gust with force and striking the fiery-red figure, which emitted a piercing shriek. Lin Langtian saw that it was a humanoid creature, its body covered in fiery scales, wielding a trident, with blood-red eyes and a savage expression.
"Is that a Dan Spirit Corpse?" Mo Ling asked in surprise, then explained, "According to some reports, when bodies are thrown into the Dan River, they absorb the Dan River's energy and transform into these mindless creatures. They're like puppets."
Upon hearing this, the group focused their gazes on the river. It seemed filled with countless Dan Spirit Corpses floating within its depths.
Seeing this, Lin Langtian furrowed his brows. He then recalled something and flew along the Dan River, explaining as he went, "Ancient sects left training platforms along this river. Their formations not only dilute the Nirvana energy in the river, making it safer to absorb, but also protect against these Dan Spirit Corpses."
Hearing this, Mo Ling and the others brightened up, following Lin Langtian closely as he scanned the river. After about ten minutes, his eyes locked onto a hidden platform just beneath the dense red Nirvana energy.
"There it is."
Lin Langtian smiled as he descended to the ancient platform.
"It even has a concealed formation—this is a perfect training spot." He looked at the platform with satisfaction and then instructed Mo Ying and the others behind him, "Guard the outside area. If you find an unoccupied platform, feel free to use it to strengthen yourselves."
With that, Lin Langtian stepped onto the training platform.
Here, he would be able to absorb enough Nirvana energy to reach the Nirvana Realm. He wondered how many Nirvana Tribulations he could undergo this time.
While Lin Langtian pondered, a red barrier of light rose from the training platform, enclosing it and releasing a powerful, stable aura. As the black vortex expanded, an intense devouring force erupted like a flood, drawing thick, crimson beams of Nirvana energy from the Dan River straight into the vortex.
Lin Langtian steeled himself with a silent resolve.
This time, he would break through to the Second Nirvana Realm!
