Chapter 31: Nobles
"Thank you for coming, Mr. Dursley and Mr. Granger," said Sirius Black.
"You're welcome, and thank you for inviting us," replied Vernon Dursley.
"Yeah, thanks! I had no idea Sirius Black was actually a wizard," added Mr. Granger.
"Same here. I thought Sirius Black was the most dangerous criminal in the United Kingdom," Vernon joked.
After three days of preparation, Sirius Black decided to invite both the Grangers and the Dursleys to his wizarding home. Their children had helped him when he needed it most—Hermione saved him from prison and Dudley saved him from an Auror. So today, as a gesture of thanks, he invited them all.
Since the Grangers and the Dursleys were Muggles, they were excited to see a real magical household. Initially, they were delighted, but their smiles quickly faded when they stood in front of Walburga Black's portrait.
"Black! How dare you invite these Muggles into this house! First, you brought that Mudblood, and now you dirty it with filthy Muggles!" the portrait screamed.
Vernon Dursley, Petunia Dursley, Wendell Granger, and Monica Granger were all shocked by the insults hurled at them by the portrait.
Even Susan Bones, who came from a pure-blood family, was stunned by the level of cursing. Hermione looked both pale and furious.
"I'm sorry. That was my late mother. I forgot to close the curtain," Sirius apologized, pulling the curtain closed and casting a spell. However, some noise still seeped through.
Just then, Dudley raised his wand and cast Muffliato, a spell originally created by Severus Snape.
It worked! The noise was completely muffled. Sirius looked at Dudley, impressed.
"Where did you learn that spell?" Sirius asked, curious.
Dudley smiled and tucked his wand back into the holster. "Trade secret," he replied.
Sensing the awkward silence as his guests digested what had just happened, Sirius decided to explain.
"My mother was a pure-blood witch who believed that those born without magic were inferior to those who were," Sirius explained.
Pureblood Vs Muggleborn...
Because of the confusion, Sirius Black decided to explain the truth. However, before he could speak, Dudley interrupted.
"Sirius, let me handle it," Dudley said, placing a hand over Sirius' mouth. "Mum, Dad, Mr. and Mrs. Granger, the truth is, we wizards still live by a class system."
"Class system? You mean like nobles and peasants?" Mr. Granger asked.
"Yeah, something like that, but a bit different," Dudley sighed. "We have pure-bloods, half-bloods, and Muggle-born wizards. Muggle-borns, like Hermione and me, are the first generation of wizards in our families and we don't inherit family magic."
Hermione perked up, intrigued by the terms Dudley used "First Generation" and "Family Magic."
"Pure-bloods, like Mr. Black here, have their own family history and magic," Dudley continued, turning to Sirius. "Sirius, if I'm not mistaken, one of the traits of the House of Black is having a Metamorphmagus in the family, right?"
"That's right. How do you know about that?" Sirius asked, but Dudley avoided answering.
"Another trait of the Black family is their looks. Those born into the family are often exceptionally good-looking, whether they're men or women," Dudley added.
"Well, I can't argue with that!" Sirius grinned, glancing at Harry and winking.
"That's just one example," Dudley went on. "Another is the Dumbledore family. They have powerful genes and are even contracted with a phoenix."
"A phoenix? Is that why Dumbledore has one?" Harry asked, wide-eyed.
"Exactly, Harry," Dudley smiled. But before he could continue, Harry interrupted.
"But Dudley, you have a phoenix too!"
Dudley slapped his forehead. "Harry, that's the one I caught. Dumbledore's phoenix is different. It is a phoenix who will only follow those who are worthy."
"Wait, you have a phoenix?" Sirius Black asked, his question jolting everyone awake.
The Dursleys looked hurt, they had never known their son had a phoenix.
"Yes, but let me finish first," Dudley said. "Alright, so Pure-bloods have one big weakness compared to Muggle-borns."
"What's the weakness?" Susan Bones asked curiously.
"Based on my research, those born into Pure-blood families tend to have Squibs more often. Meanwhile, Muggle-borns don't face this issue or it never happen to them." Dudley explained, glancing at his parents, remembering they didn't know the term. "A Squib is someone born into a magical family but can't use magic."
"Oh, that must be painful," Petunia said, recalling her own pain when Lily turned out to be a witch while she wasn't.
"Exactly. Because of this weakness, Pure-bloods often become extreme in their views against Muggle-borns and even Half-bloods. I've lost count of how many people have called me a Mudblood, and I've seen others mocked as filthy Half-bloods," Dudley revealed.
"Wait, you've been mocked like that too?" Hermione asked, concerned.
Before Dudley could answer, Vernon interjected angrily. "How dare they! Dudley, what did you do to the boy who called you that derogatory name?"
"I sent him to the infirmary and almost got expelled last year," Dudley admitted.
"What?" The Dursleys were shocked, while Hermione and Harry finally realized why Dudley had been so outraged last year—it had gone viral because he attacked Professor Snape.
"Don't worry, Mum. Thanks to my cousin Harry Potter, I managed to avoid being expelled" said Dudley.
"We also always dueled each other but Dumbledore didn't even kicked us out" Sirius Black cut in.
"Our circumstances are different, if you were being kicked out because you cast a curse towards snape who are half blood. Wouldn't your mother force Dumbledore to resign by using every resources of House of Black?" said Dudley.
"Wait, do you cast a magic towards professor Snape?" asked Harry and even hermione looked at Sirius Black.
"Yeah, I hate that snivellus" Sirius Black confessed his sin.
"Let me finish first my story" said Dudley who become irritated on how many times his speech being interrupted.
"Ok why I almost being kicked out is because I fought them hard and even hurting professor snape" said Dudley and remember how with just 4th years spell he could overpowered professor Snape who created his own spell, master in occlumency and even silent casting.
With artificial intelligence, this body able to beat Professor Snape who obviously formidable fighter. But Dudley who came in the era of Chat GPT accepted it easily, using AI to solve math it takes a few second that is why he didn't find it weird on how the AI could easily defeated Snape.
