Chapter 8 - 008 Second Name Day (5)

'Motherfucker!! I swear I will fucking kill you and feed you your own shit!!'

Aegon was fuming, his face turned blood-red with purple eyes glaring at a toothless lion.

All the work he had done, the distractions he used, everything so that a paper lion doesn't propose marriage to his sister and she doesn't get passed.

But

'Everything's gone…' Aegon mumbled, gritting his teeth.

Jason Lannister, a toothless, arrogant lion, was standing in front of the king, Viserys, "My King, Casterly Rock would be a fine place for Princess Rhaenyra!"

His emerald green eyes shone with greed, his chest puffing with arrogance as he added, "Casterly Rock can offer the royal house strength and money!"

Strength? Did he just say strength? When did dragons ever need strength?!

Viserys was beyond annoyed; he clenched his hand, tightly gripping the handrest, but still maintained his smile, "My Lord, this is my son's feast! We are here for a celebration; we shall discuss this matter later."

"But of course, Your Grace," Jason replied immediately; he may be arrogant, but not so much that he cannot read the room.

Viserys was about to breathe a sigh of relief; he wanted to relax and enjoy a little sense of peace, but before he could do so,

"Is this why you made me the heir?!" Rhaenyra exclaimed out loud, striding towards her father.

She had watched silently and listened to Jason; her breathing became erratic with each of his words while her hands tightened around Aegon, who was looking at his sister with worry.

"Is this why you made me your heir?!" she repeated, reaching Viserys, "to marry me off to some high lord?!"

She was loud—loud enough for everyone present to hear, including Jason, who narrowed his eyes at her.

"No, Rhaenyra!" Viserys exclaimed, his brows furrowed as he imagined another clash impending with his daughter, "You are of age, and it is your duty to continue the royal line!"

"NO!"

Rhaenyra yelled, storming off the tent. But in the heat of the moment, she forgot that her brother was still in her arms.

"W-Wait…!" Alicent exclaimed in worry, trying to get up from her chair but, "Ugh," she couldn't get up, her pregnant belly in the way.

She turned towards her father, who was watching Rhaenyra leave, "Aegon!"

....

Rhaenyra burst out of the tent, her purple eyes reddened as a single tear fell off her eye. She paced towards the horse, grabbing one before she got on swiftly, forgetting that she had her baby brother in her arms.

'I will stay silent for now,' Aegon decided, 'She's angry, and in a rage if she does anything to me, she will be blamed!'

Rhaenyra beckoned the horse to run into Kingswood; she wanted to leave. She wanted to leave the men who wanted to take everything from her.

"Princess, wait!" a knight yelled from behind.

He swiftly ran to the horse stand, grabbing a horse; he turned toward a servant, "Tell His Grace that I will bring them both back!"

He then immediately followed Rhaenyra; he wouldn't be so worried if Rhaenyra was alone, but she had the prince with him.

'If anything were to happen to him…' he didn't dare to finish his thoughts.

Rhaenyra strode through the woods, a stream of tears running down her face as she clenched her jaw. She hated this; she hated everything!

"Princess stop!" See Criston yelled once again, causing her to glance back at him, but instead of stopping, she picked up the pace, causing the knight to grit his teeth.

It took several minutes, but the knight had caught up with her; he immediately took the reins from the princess, forcing the horse to come to a halt.

"Princess, where are you storming off to?" Ser Criston asked.

But instead of answering him, she questioned him back, "Why are you here, Ser Criston?!"

"Princess, you ran off with the prince!!" He exclaimed in return, pointing toward Aegon in her hand.

"Eh? Aegon?!" Rhaenyra called out, her eyes widening in surprise as she looked down at her brother, who had a frightened expression on his face.

'When did I…?' She was confused, recalling the events.

But just then,

'Casterly Rock would be a fine place for the princess!' Jason's voice echoed in her mind.

That's right! The reason she was being ridiculed! Sold off to! It was because of him! It was because of Aegon!

There is no one around her, just her and her usurper! If he disappeared here—

"Sister!"

"Huh?" Rhaenyra mumbled, her eyes lost in a daze. She looked down at Aegon, who called out to her.

'What was I…?' Her body shook, her spine shivered in disgust at her own thoughts, 'I was thinking of….'

"I'm sorry, Aegon!" she apologised, hugging him tightly. "I'm sorry!"

Aegon too hugged her back, "Sister, okay?" He asked.

'Phew! God, that was tense!' he mumbled inwardly, 'You should've looked at her face, especially her eyes. I knew she was thinking of some dark things, probably hurting me. But still, I've got to get her out of it.'

Looking up at his sister, who had shut her eyes close, 'Good thing you haven't done anything, cause I'll return it—'

"Princess! We should leave and return to the camp!" Ser Criston exclaimed, interrupting Aegon's thoughts.

"O-Okay," Rhaenyra whispered, her voice shaky, still disturbed by her own thoughts.

She was about to turn back towards the camp, but something caught her eye.

Just then, "Sister!" Aegon exclaimed loudly, pointing his finger into the distance.

"....by the gods!" Ser Criston exclaimed, his eyes widening in shock as he looked at the spot where the prince pointed out.

BADUMP

A smile crept onto Rhaenyra's lips, her heart pounding with excitement as she whispered,

"....The White Stag!"
