In the palace, inside his chamber, Eros looked at the parchment he had received from the crew. His brows knitted into a tight frown as his eyes skimmed through the contents of the message.
"Daring to open the door to the living... I wonder who this is," he muttered under his breath.
"Tell him to get back safe. His daughter is waiting for him," Eros said, tying the reply message to Rook's leg and ordering the falcon to keep a careful eye on the crew.
He stood there solemnly, his eyes fixed on the falcon as it disappeared into the sky.
"Are they in danger?"
Behind him, a childlike yet mature voice questioned him. Even though Eros was king, the person who spoke to him showed no respect and that person was none other than his own nephew, Kael, the youngest prince of Noctara.
Eros's lips twisted in annoyance.
