Chapter 7 - Chapter 7 Awkwardness During a Bath

My dears, don't forget to vote and favorite.————

Fang Pingying had already heated up the water and brought it over, struggling with the situation. Seeing Luo Zhiyong sitting by the kang bed, she said, "Zhiyong, you wash first. I still have to boil water, and I'll be sweating again later."

After speaking, she went straight through the familiar route to the cabinet at the head of the kang, took out a striped short-sleeved shirt and a pair of thin blue athletic pants for Luo Zhiyong, handed them to him, and urged him to hurry up or the water would get cold.

Luo Zhiyong found it strange that Fang Pingying moved so confidently, even without asking him, she could directly find the place where the clothes were kept, and she seemed to clearly know where each piece of his clothing was.

Fang Pingying, noticing the look in Luo Zhiyong's eyes, realized what was happening.

Today was her first day coming to the Luo Family, her first time in this room, she shouldn't be acting so familiar with this place.

She quickly laughed and explained, "Just now, when I was alone in the room, I sorted out my clothes and took a look inside the cabinet—after all, I needed to clear some space for my clothes."

Luo Zhiyong wasn't suspicious; he nodded but continued to sit without moving.

Fang Pingying didn't think too much of it and urged him again upon seeing that he still wasn't moving, "Hurry up and wash, the water will really cool down, and since the weather isn't that cold, I didn't heat it up too much."

"I… It's okay, I'll sit for a bit before I wash, I'm a bit tired."

Because of her rebirth, Fang Pingying's memories were still stuck in the time when she and Luo Zhiyong were an old married couple in her past life, completely forgetting that today was their wedding day, thus overlooking these details.

Hearing Luo Zhiyong's words, she truly felt puzzled—how could he speak with such a lack of logic? If he's tired now, wouldn't he be tired later too?

And if he really was tired, shouldn't he wash up and rest in bed even sooner?

She was about to urge him again when her eyes swept across his legs, and she suddenly realized that it must be because his leg was inconvenient, and he would need her help when taking a bath.

Without much thought, she blurted out, "You start by taking off your clothes and sit in the basin, I'll wrap your leg for you, and then you can lean on me while washing."

Luo Zhiyong blushed at Fang Pingying's bold words—as expected, his wife was really fearless.

At the same time, he began to reflect—was he being too fussy and petty?

They were already married, officially husband and wife, and as such, they should be doing things that husbands and wives do, which is natural human behavior.

After Luo Zhiyong figured this out, he nodded at Fang Pingying and began to take off his army green shirt.

Fang Pingying didn't react much at the beginning, until Luo Zhiyong stripped off his upper garment to reveal his wheat-colored torso and then started to unbuckle his belt.

And when Fang Pingying accidentally caught a glimpse of Luo Zhiyong undressed, with the black body hair below his belly button and the area to which the black hair trailed downwards, she suddenly came to a realization.

She and Luo Zhiyong were no longer the old couple from her past life; this was their first wedding night, where a married couple would…

Thinking about it, Fang Pingying's face turned red. Even though they had been married for a long time, it had been a while since she had been intimate with Luo Zhiyong. She just couldn't do it like before.

So, with a blushing face, she asked in a low voice, "I'm going to boil water, can you manage your leg by yourself, or should I ask Dad for help?"

Luo Zhiyong looked at Fang Pingying's flushed face, again a bit startled. What's gotten into this girl? Just a moment ago, she was bold enough to astound him, and now when she has piqued his interest, she's bashfully planning to run off.

But seeing her like this, he could tell she was unwilling, and Luo Zhiyong wouldn't force her. Shaking his head, he said, "No need, you go boil the water. I can manage on my own."

By the time Fang Pingying finished boiling water and entered the room again, Luo Zhiyong's figure was nowhere to be seen. Fang Pingying didn't rush to look for him. She quickly took her shower, and as she was carrying out the used bathwater, she saw Luo Zhiyong sitting in the courtyard.

It seemed that he had deliberately left to give her space for her bath, to prevent her from feeling uncomfortable like before.

Fang Pingying cracked a smile. Just like in her past life, this man seemed cold but was actually very considerate.

After Fang Pingying had thrown out the water and returned to the room, she saw that Luo Zhiyong was already sitting on the edge of the kang (a traditional heated bed). She hung the bath towel behind the door and asked him, "What's up? It's so late and you're still not sleeping, sitting there lost in thought?"

Luo Zhiyong just grunted and didn't say much.

Fang Pingying knew he wasn't the talkative type, so she didn't mind. She tidied up a bit, climbed onto the kang, and was about to lie down when she suddenly saw a damp spot on Luo Zhiyong's injured leg, on his blue sweatpants, resembling a bloodstain.

Fang Pingying immediately flipped over and got up, positioned Luo Zhiyong's leg on the bed, and said, "Cover your waist with the quilt. I need to see your leg."

"There's no need to look, my leg is fine," Luo Zhiyong thought about removing his pants and felt a bit embarrassed.

Fang Pingying, in a burst of urgency, didn't care about that and tried to take off his pants directly, "What do you mean fine? Look, your leg is bleeding. If it gets worse, it'll be difficult to treat later on."

Luo Zhiyong became anxious too, blocking Fang Pingying's hands and blurted out defensively, "What, you regret it now? Afraid that my leg will never heal and I'll be a burden to you for a lifetime? I've said it before, it's not too late to regret it now. I wouldn't force you."

Fang Pingying didn't mind hearing this once, knowing that he had contributed to the country every day in the army. And now, suddenly being idle at home after being wounded, it's understandable he's not accustomed to it, feeling without value, and naturally in a bad mood.

But him repeating it time and again really set Fang Pingying off. She dropped Luo Zhiyong's leg and shouted at him, "Enough, Luo Zhiyong! Since the moment I arrived at your home today, I've never regarded you as a stranger, nor have I ever been unwilling to marry you. What do you mean by asking me to regret it, again and again? Are you unwilling to marry me?"

"I..." Luo Zhiyong was stunned by Fang Pingying's sudden outburst. He had only said one thing, and this girl fired back in rapid succession, in a terribly harsh tone, scolding him as if he was scolding his subordinates.

Without waiting for Luo Zhiyong to speak, Fang Pingying continued, "If you are unwilling to marry me, just say it. I'll go. Although I'm not the most beautiful, I'm fairly good-looking with proper features. I'm considered one of the most beautiful girls in the village, and I won't have trouble finding someone to marry. I won't cling on to your Luo Family for dear life."

Once Fang Pingying's temper flared up, she had no filter for what she was saying.

Hearing this, Luo Zhiyong's mouth twitched. He had never heard such self-praise before. His wife really was something, "Ah."

Luo Zhiyong was not eloquent and truly did not know how to describe his wife. He just felt that his wife's temperament was somewhat different from what people said.
