I nodded my head, but I didn't actually agree with the man. I mean, there had to be one right way to do it, right? I get that I was unlovable; Mother proved that over and over again. And even I was smart enough to know that Père's version of loving wasn't right.
"What did you think of the heart that Dimitri brought you?" asked Daddy, changing the subject.
"I liked it," I replied, confused. Who wouldn't like something like that? It's like the head that Father Khaos brought me. They were amazing gifts.
