The sound of something piercing through the air at intense speed sent Xandros's senses into overdrive. His body screamed of danger.
He didn't know why, but subconsciously, he dodged to the right. As he moved, he was shocked to see one of the armored statues striking at his former position.
He was still processing this when his entire body once again screamed in warning. Without thinking, he stepped backward at great speed.
To his astonishment, two massive fists smashed into the spot where he had just stood. But it didn't stop there—Xandros's eyes widened as a powerful shockwave erupted from the impact, shaking the ground beneath him and causing him to lose balance.
As he tried to steady himself, his instincts flared again. He didn't hesitate—his body twisted to the side, then darted forward before leaping into the air.
