"Elizabeth," she called and Elizabeth flinched. "Any last words?" She asked and lunged towards her ready to make the kill.
Elizabeth squirmed. She didn't want to go down without a fight. At least, she could put up a defense and block whatever attack she would throw at her but why wasn't her body moving? Why?! Was she really going to die?
But just then, Leo stepped forward, intercepting in the little distance that was left between them, so Alice had to come to a forced halt.
"Alice," He called with his calm and endearing tone, and she glazed her eyes at him. What was he doing?
"What are you doing?" She asked him with a frown on her face. "Are you protecting her?"
Elizabeth looked at the back of the man who had stepped in between Alice's attack. Did he step forward because he knew how special she was?
Her eyes lit up with hope, but Leo's next words shattered that hope.
