"The Chief of the Ice River Valley..."
Hearing Mo Yu's words, Xiao Yixian's delicate face froze momentarily, followed by a trace of surprise flickering in her enchanting eyes.
"This person's status is so high. Mo Yu, isn't this... a bit too risky?" Xiao Yixian asked with a worried look.
Although she didn't know the exact strength of this Ice River Valley Master, she understood that Ice River Valley was part of the most powerful forces in Central Plains, ranking among the One Hall, One Tower, Two Sects, Three Valleys, and Four Pavilions. Moreover, the position of the Three Valleys in this hierarchy was above the Four Pavilions.
In Xiao Yixian's perspective, any pavilion of the Four Pavilions alone could easily overpower the forces of the Northwest Continent, let alone the Ice River Valley, which stood even higher.
Noticing her concern, Mo Yu smiled slightly and said, "Don't worry. We're not heading to Central Plains to kill the Ice River Valley Master immediately. We'll wait for the right moment and sufficient strength before executing the plan.
"When we're strong enough, so what if it's the Ice River Valley Chief? Killing him will just be another step.
"Although the One Hall, One Tower, Two Sects, Three Valleys, and Four Pavilions are famous in Central Plains, the truly powerful factions never display their strength openly.
"Once we kill the Ice River Valley Chief and the Profound Yin Poison Demon Thunder devours him, your Woeful Poison Body can be resolved. A fully controlled Woeful Poison Body... even those old monsters in Central Plains will avoid you. Who knows, your fame might even surpass mine."
Hearing Mo Yu's detailed plan, Xiao Yixian's worry eased significantly. The teasing tone at the end made her wrinkle her dainty nose and retort playfully, "I'm not a freak like you, slaying a seven-star Dou Zong as a five-star Dou Huang."
Mo Yu was stunned for a moment, staring blankly at her. As Xiao Yixian felt uneasy under his gaze, he burst into laughter.
"Xiao Yixian, I like seeing you like this. You used to be too cold," he said.
Hearing this, Xiao Yixian froze, standing rooted to the spot. As she watched the silver-winged figure flying further away, her gray-purple eyes softened.
"Xiao Yixian, catch up!" Mo Yu called out as he glanced back.
"Coming!" she replied with a smile, stepping into the air gracefully to catch up. As she closed the distance, she murmured softly, "Mo Yu... thank you."
Mo Yu and Xiao Yixian traversed the plains, entering a mountain range.
Soon, wide roads appeared before them, crisscrossing the mountain range like arteries. On these roads, figures bustled about, and even from such a distance, Mo Yu could hear the faint hum of activity from below.
The skies above the mountain range were not empty either. Shortly after they entered, the sound of breaking wind could be heard from afar as various forms of Dou Qi wings and flying beasts darted towards the mountains.
The arrival of Mo Yu and Xiao Yixian immediately caught everyone's attention. Whether it was Mo Yu's dazzling silver lightning wings or Xiao Yixian's ability to walk through the air, they were undoubtedly the most striking figures in the area.
Although Dou Huang experts weren't rare, someone as young as Mo Yu achieving this level was exceptional. As for Xiao Yixian, her presence as a Dou Zong expert was even more astonishing, especially outside Central Plains.
Ignoring the astonished gazes around them, Mo Yu and Xiao Yixian continued forward, their expressions indifferent.
The mountain range exuded a vibrant and thriving atmosphere, a rarity even in the Black-Corner Region.
"Truly worthy of being the most prosperous city within a thousand-mile radius," Mo Yu remarked as he exchanged a glance with Xiao Yixian. They picked up speed and flew towards their destination.
After about ten minutes, the outline of a massive city appeared, partially obscured by lush peaks. As they drew closer, the enormous city fully revealed itself.
Surveying the city's vastness, Mo Yu nodded slightly in approval.
As the two descended towards the city, a flash of light rose from the city gate, revealing a stern-faced elder in yellow robes. His Dou Qi wings flapped lightly as he blocked their path and spoke in a cold voice.
"Is this your first time in Horizon City? Don't you know flying above the city is prohibited?"
"It is indeed our first time here. I didn't expect Horizon City to have such strict rules," Mo Yu replied indifferently, glancing at the elder.
"Dou Qi wings... a Dou Huang expert?"
Sensing Mo Yu's profound Dou Qi, far surpassing that of a Dou Wang, the elder's expression changed. His gaze shifted to Xiao Yixian, and his face grew even more solemn.
"Walking through the air... a Dou Zong expert!"
Despite the turmoil in his heart, the elder quickly adjusted his demeanor and clasped his hands respectfully. "Esteemed guests, this has been the rule of Horizon City, established by the Luo Clan. Outsiders are prohibited from flying above the city."
"The Luo Clan's rule?" Xiao Yixian frowned slightly.
Noticing her displeasure, the elder hastily explained, "The Luo Clan has long been the most established power in Horizon City.
"The spatial wormhole in the city also belongs to our clan. Our ancestor, a five-star Dou Zong, maintains order and deters troublemakers."
The mention of their ancestor's strength was clearly meant to impress. However, Xiao Yixian remained unimpressed. A five-star Dou Zong might be strong, but not beyond her ability to handle. And beside her stood Mo Yu, who could defeat a seven-star Dou Zong.
Glancing at Mo Yu, Xiao Yixian's gaze softened.
The elder was surprised by this interaction. He had assumed the Dou Zong expert was the leader, but her demeanor suggested the composed silver-eyed youth was in charge.
The elder's respect for Mo Yu deepened. Though his position as gatekeeper did not afford him great power, his sharp judgment had served him well.
Noticing both Xiao Yixian and the elder looking at him, Mo Yu nodded slightly. He had no desire for unnecessary conflict; his goal was merely to use the spatial wormhole.
"Thank you for informing us. Could you tell me where the spatial wormhole is?" Mo Yu asked calmly.
The elder hesitated before responding, "Unfortunately, the wormhole is temporarily closed for repairs. Our experts are working on it, and it should reopen soon."
"Closed?" Mo Yu frowned, surprised by the coincidence. His luck seemed no better than Xiao Yan's.
"How many days will the repairs take?" Mo Yu, having composed himself, asked again.
"I'm not entirely sure. Repairing spatial wormholes depends on the severity of the issue. The one in Horizon City was constructed over a century ago by one of my Luo Clan ancestors, who sought help from others.
After so many years of use, it's naturally full of problems. I ask for your understanding," replied the elderly man in yellow, now more cautious, realizing Mo Yu's extraordinary identity.
"If you're willing to wait, you can stay in the city for a few days. We should have results soon."
The yellow-clad elder, as if recalling something, turned toward Xiao Yixian and added, "Moreover, my family's patriarch is currently inviting Dou Zong experts to help repair the spatial wormhole. If this young lady is interested, she can head to the central area where the wormhole is located."
Xiao Yixian said nothing to this, her beautiful eyes turning to Mo Yu.
"Let's enter the city first," Mo Yu decided after a moment of thought, clasping his hands at the elder. With a sweep, his silver thunder wings folded away as he descended swiftly.
After entering Horizon City, Mo Yu and Xiao Yixian found a clean inn and stayed the night.
The next day, as sunlight streamed through the window, casting scattered rays across the floor, Mo Yu slowly opened his eyes, murmuring softly, "Looks like we'll have to visit the city center today. After all, the only spatial wormhole within a thousand miles is here."
Frowning slightly, he got up, washed briefly, and called for Xiao Yixian. Together, they left the inn and headed toward the city center.
The streets were bustling, the morning air carrying a refreshing dampness that invigorated them as they strolled.
Clop, clop! While Mo Yu and Xiao Yixian were conversing, the sound of hooves suddenly echoed from ahead, throwing the street into chaos.
"Out of my way, you wretches! Get lost, or if you're trampled, no one will be responsible!" a fiery-red figure leading the group shouted.
The young girl in the crimson dress, her demeanor as sharp as flames, furrowed her brows and barked loudly.
Mo Yu's expression darkened slightly. In both his past and present lives, he despised arrogant and reckless people. With a flick of his finger, an ethereal green thunderbolt emerged, streaking toward the horse beneath the crimson-dressed girl.
Boom! The poisonous thunderbolt struck the horse, causing it to collapse as if suffocating. Its aura extinguished instantly, and the crimson-dressed girl was thrown several meters away, letting out a sharp scream.
Before her scream faded, two elderly figures appeared, cutting through the air and blocking Mo Yu and Xiao Yixian's path.
The two figures, one with gray hair and the other white-haired, had visibly aged faces. Judging by their auras, they seemed to be at the level of a Five-Star and Six-Star Dou Huang. Their strength was noteworthy.
"This young miss is indeed mischievous, but she's just a girl. Was it truly appropriate for you to attack her?" The gray-haired elder glanced at the injured crimson-dressed girl before turning his gaze to Mo Yu, frowning slightly.
With his keen eyes, he could tell that the incident was caused by this silver-eyed youth. But Mo Yu's mysterious methods and aura, even stronger than theirs, made him cautious in his tone.
"That's why I targeted the horse, not her," Mo Yu replied calmly, his silver eyes lifting slightly.
"You scoundrel! How dare you act so insolently in Horizon City! You injured me, and my grandfather won't let you off! Elder Bai, Elder Wang, capture this man for me. I want him to kneel and apologize, crawling from the south end of the city to the north!"
The crimson-dressed girl, her palms bloody, was consumed with rage and humiliation after being publicly embarrassed. Her pride could not accept such a blow.
As her words fell, the two elders exchanged glances, a bitter smile tugging at their lips. Though they might manage to subdue Mo Yu together, the enigmatic white-robed woman beside him made them hesitate.
"Looks like your orders don't hold much sway. Or are there no other experts in your clan? If that's the case, I'll be leaving."
Mo Yu's gaze turned mocking as he looked at the two stationary elders and then at the enraged girl, a faint sneer curling his lips.
The crimson-dressed girl froze at his words. Although she didn't understand why her clan's protectors remained motionless, she wasn't willing to let the matter rest.
With a furious glare, she took out a jade token from her storage ring and crushed it.
"Humph! You wretched man, my grandfather will not let you go. Once you fall into my hands, I'll chop off your fingers one by one!" she spat venomously.
The shattered token released a gray light that darted toward the city center. Moments later, it reappeared above the street, radiating a powerful aura.
A gloomy voice echoed across the area as a vast pressure swept forth.
"You two behave so brazenly. Do you truly disregard my Luo Clan?"
