Chapter 7 - Chapter 4: I’m in the Late Stages of Cancer, and I’m Still Awesome!

Yutu hadn't felt this lighthearted in a long time!

The first thing he did after being discharged was find a park and run ten kilometers.

If you haven't experienced it, you wouldn't understand that feeling of owning your body. It was simply amazing!

As for the second thing, it was time to end the boring life he once had.

During the three months he spent in the hospital bed, Yutu tried to find something meaningful from his past life to prove that he had truly existed.

But unfortunately, there was nothing.

Going to school according to schedule, working obediently, even his girlfriend—he had just casually accepted her advances when it was time for it.

After all, he didn't look bad.

When Yutu showed up at the office, people began to gossip in the work area.

Yutu had been sick for only three months, and according to the law, he was still within his medical leave period, so the company couldn't fire him.

As for the people who came over to greet him, Yutu couldn't even be bothered to answer them, not even giving them a smile.

During his three-month hospitalization, not a single person had visited him.

His old desk was now occupied by someone else, and he had no idea where his personal belongings had gone.

But Yutu didn't care about those small details.

He came to the company for one reason: this person in front of him with a big smile.

"Yutu? What are you doing back? How's your health?"

This person was Yutu's supervisor, Director Hao.

A PUA expert!

Before he got sick, Yutu was constantly subjected to Hao's PUA tactics. For a single typo in a private chat, Director Hao could scold him for an entire hour in the meeting room.

"I'm dying. The doctor said, I only have a month left."

Director Hao was visibly stunned. Seeing that Yutu seemed in good spirits, he thought his condition had improved.

"Kid, you have to trust the doctor. You'll get better!"

Yutu smiled and walked closer to Director Hao. "Director Hao, do you know why I came back?"

"Why? If you need any help, just let me know. I can make an application to the company."

"Thanks for your guidance all these years. I'm about to die, so I'm afraid I won't have the chance to thank you."

"Such politeness? Thank for what—"

Before Director Hao could finish, Yutu unexpectedly threw him to the ground.

Yutu pinned Director Hao down, and one punch after another landed on his body.

"Fuck you..."

"Stealing my performance!"

"Blocking my promotion!"

"And you still insult me!"

"Fuck you!"

"…"

After several punches, Director Hao's face was covered in blood, and only then did his coworkers manage to pull Yutu off!

"Let go, don't touch me! I'm in the late stages of cancer; anyone who touches me will have to deal with it here!"

Sure enough, with that buff, the coworkers who were holding Yutu immediately let go and began helping Director Hao up.

Director Hao wiped the blood off his face, his eyes swollen, and he yelled at Yutu, "Yutu, are you looking to die?"

Director Hao raised his fist, as if he was about to charge at Yutu. The rest of the coworkers quickly pulled him back.

"Director Hao, calm down!"

"Director Hao, forget it!"

Yutu sneered and leaned his head into Director Hao's face.

"Come on, hit me, don't hold back! I'm in the late stages of cancer!"

The scene became somewhat quiet for a moment.

Director Hao was also taken aback. He raised his fist but didn't dare strike!

What could he do to a late-stage cancer patient?

Hit him? Wouldn't that bankrupt him?

But he had seen many cancer patients, but a late-stage cancer patient with such good physical condition was a first for him!

"You wait, I'll call the police!"

Director Hao grabbed his phone, ready to call the police, but was stopped by the HR manager, who had just arrived.

"Director Hao, forget it!"

The HR manager was excited, thinking that it was the perfect opportunity to get rid of Yutu. After all, he had just assaulted someone.

"Yutu, you—"

"Stop talking, do as you please, fire me!" Yutu interrupted him, waving his hand.

They were all a bunch of useless people; what good could come out of them?

After letting out some anger by punching someone, Yutu couldn't be bothered with the people in front of him. He turned around and left the company.

As he neared the company's entrance, Yutu saw his ex-girlfriend. They exchanged glances, but neither of them said a word.

Yutu didn't hate her. Their relationship had never been the kind of "soulmate" love.

Although they were almost married, it didn't happen, did it?

Moreover, even if they had married, they would have been like birds of the same forest—when disaster struck, they would both fly away.

Yutu smiled in understanding and waved his hand. "I'm leaving, I'm going to die, and we'll never meet again!"

Walking out of the company and standing on the bustling street, watching the crowd, Yutu felt incredibly light!

His father had died, his mother had run off, and his grandmother, who had raised him, was also gone.

His previous job and girlfriend had only been ways to find a reason to keep living. Now that they were all gone, it felt so good!

He looked at his bank account balance, and with the three thousand yuan that had mysteriously appeared, Yutu still had tens of thousands left!

Bars, five-star hotels…
