"What is it?" The furrow between his brows deepened when Hazel didn't answer his question immediately. "Are you hurt?" The first thing that came to his mind was: Arlo had done something to hurt her.
"Hm…" Hazel thought about it. "No… I guess."
"What does that mean?"
Now Hazel looked confused; she lowered her head and then stared at her stomach. She raised her hand and caressed her belly. "I think… I have a stomachache?" She was still unsure.
Only then did Ranon get it.
"The baby is moving," he said with certainty.
"How do you know that?" Hazel lifted her head and looked at him with surprise. The possibility didn't cross her mind, probably because her conversation with Arlo had occupied most of her attention. "I think you are right."
At first, she thought she had a stomachache, but it didn't feel like it; and then she guessed she was hungry because her stomach was churning, but it didn't feel right.
