They stared at each other, wide-eyed.
It must be quite late now.
"March 7th, why aren't you asleep yet? And how did I get teleported into someone else's room?! What's going on with Silver Wolf? Is this some deliberate attempt to sabotage me?"
Unaware of the awkward tension, Bochang sensed it in the air and cautiously spoke, "Good evening, March. Still awake so late...?"
As he talked, Bochang casually ran his hand through his hair.
March 7th was completely stunned, taking several seconds to regain her composure.
Noticing the pink-haired girl's gradually widening eyes and slowly parting cherry lips, Bochang suddenly realized:
"March is about to scream! No way! Absolutely not!"
In this situation, there was no way Bochang could let March 7th shout out loud.
So...
He hastily reached over, covering the pink-haired girl's mouth just in time to stifle her impending scream.
Just a brief—ah!
Although unexpected under the cover of night,
the sound was short and relatively quiet.
It shouldn't be too concerning.
"Shh... March, calm down," whispered Bochang.
"Calm? How can I stay calm?"
Trembling, March 7th clutched her blanket tightly. Anyone witnessing a naked man suddenly appear in their room at midnight would undoubtedly feel frightened, regardless of gender.
In such circumstances, it's impossible to remain composed unless they're married or romantically involved.
Bochang and March 7th weren't that close yet. Although they had shared a bed before, it was mostly initiated by the pink-haired girl, and both were fully clothed.
Unlike now...
March 7th slept alone, wearing only her underwear.
And Bochang was completely nude.
"What does he want? Could he... could he be planning some weird stuff with me?" March 7th began struggling, causing the bed to creak loudly as it swayed.
The pink-haired girl, through the thin blanket, started kicking Bochang with her small feet.
One kick, two kicks, three kicks...
March 7th aimed to knock Bochang off the bed. Unfortunately, she didn't exert enough force and couldn't achieve it; instead, it felt more like playful teasing.
Seeing this, Bochang decided to employ his Invisible Hand, firmly restraining the pink-haired girl.
"March, I accidentally wandered in here, but I'm leaving right away, just give me a moment. Please don't overreact," Bochang tried his best to calm down March 7th.
Meanwhile...
After finishing her street performance, Serval returned to the Yichen Inn. As she approached, intending to enter, she suddenly heard low murmurs from March 7th's room.
This was followed by a series of peculiar creaking sounds.
"What... is going on?" Serval wondered, intrigued.
March 7th's room faced the blonde woman's across the hall.
Serval listened attentively and faintly sensed voices inside.
However...
The voices were too faint.
Moreover, the creaking sounds interfered with clarity.
Serval couldn't make out the words or who was speaking.
"March 7th...what's going on in there? Should I ask?"
After a moment of contemplation, Serval turned and knocked on March 7th's door, saying, "March, are you still awake? I heard some strange noises from your room. Is everything alright?"
"Serval? She's not asleep yet either? How troublesome."
Bochang felt a pang as if his teeth were aching.
Inside March 7th's room, a small lamp cast its dim yellow glow, bathing the furnishings in a golden hue. If Serval were to burst through the door now, she would witness a remarkably captivating scene.
Unfortunately...
Unlike the pink-haired girl, the blonde woman lacked the impulsiveness to force her way in, thus missing out on this picturesque moment.
Bochang, pressing down on March 7th, whispered urgently, "Please, March, get rid of Serval."
Although it was somewhat risky...
Still...
Bochang had no choice but to trust March 7th.
Otherwise, without her cooperation, Serval might indeed decide to force her way in if she didn't receive any response.
After speaking these words...
Bochang slowly released her grip, including that of the Invisible Hand.
March 7th, observing the close proximity between herself and Bochang, felt slightly calmer following Bochang's explanation.
Her pink eyes quickly scanned the surroundings.
Then turning back, March 7th said, "I'm fine, Serval. I just got excited from watching an interesting movie a moment ago."
"An interesting movie?" A question mark seemed to float above Serval's head.
What kind of captivating film could make someone so thrilled that the bed shakes?
However...
Since March 7th assured her, Serval didn't dwell on it further.
"Oh... I see, glad you're okay. I'm going back to sleep now, rest well yourself."
After her explanation, the blonde woman let out a big yawn.
As she heard the footsteps fading away outside the door, Bochang finally felt relieved.
Of course, the most reassuring aspect was March 7th's attitude; she didn't reveal anything inappropriate.
"You can get off me now," March 7th whispered softly.
Prompted by her words, Bochang swiftly rolled off the bed and draped the tattered bathrobe over himself.
Observing Bochang's disheveled appearance, complete with his Vow Spear in hand, March 7th asked, "Were you out for a fight with someone?"
The pink-haired girl chose to cover for him precisely because she sensed something unusual.
"Uh... sort of. There were some complications on my way back, but I'll be leaving soon."
Bochang had no intention of disclosing the incident involving the Stellaron Hunters and Aha. It could be considered a minor secret.
"I thought your animal instincts kicked in, wanting to forcefully do 'that'... gave me quite a scare."
March 7th sat up, still clutching her blanket.
"Don't overthink it," Bochang said. "I want to continue working on the Astral Express... How would I dare make any moves against you?"
It was clear to anyone observing:
On the Astral Express, March 7th was deeply beloved by everyone. Almost all crew members gave her considerable leeway.
Even when the pink-haired girl accidentally damaged various items onboard, Himeko, Pom-Pom, and others only provided verbal reprimands, never truly minding her actions.
If anyone else had caused such mishaps, they certainly wouldn't have received this privileged treatment.
Had Bochang dared to forcefully approach March 7th, he likely would have been kicked off the Astral Express the very next day.
"So, what exactly were you doing outside?" March 7th persisted relentlessly.
After just one trip outside, Bochang returned in such disarray.
It was hard not to be suspicious.
This is Bochang we're talking about—given his strength, who could force him into this state? Even his clothes were askew.
Did he have a confrontation with Herta?
March 7th's expression turned puzzled.
Bochang shook his head and said, "Nothing significant, just dealt with a minor issue. Let's not dwell on it now; I need to leave."
He quickly dressed, picked up two Destiny Footprints and the Vow Spear, then turned to depart.
"Wait..." Suddenly, March 7th reached out and grabbed Bochang's clothing, forcing him to pause.
Bochang glanced back at March 7th's stern face, feeling slightly uneasy. He asked, "Ah... what's wrong?"
"On you... why do I detect another woman's scent?" March 7th stared intently at Bochang.
