MEREDITH BRUSHED her gray hair from her forehead. She was busy with the things of the county. Continuous letter proposal and invitations. But none was from who she was waiting for.
"My lady, you have a letter from duchess Araminta." Without looking up from her writing, she stretched her hands to her. The maid placed the letter in her palm.
She leaned back as she read through the content. Meredith let out an unamused sigh once done.
"Why? If she wants to tell me something, she could easily just come over or have me go to her?"
The maid furrowed her brows, wondering want the letter was about.
Folding it back, it told her maid. "Write back to her, telling her I will not be attending the sumor hunt. I have no reason to be there."
Simple and short.
