Thane stepped out of the elevator to the lobby, where Gilbert had been waiting with a piping hot cup of coffee. He mouthed a thank you as he took both his phone and coffee off his hands.
"Did anyone call while I was in the meeting?" Thane asked, scrolling through his call log.
Gilbert kept a straight face, "No, no one called in your absence." Changing the topic he asked, "How was the meeting? Did they like the idea you pitched?"
Thane nodded, "It went as planned." he replied sounding distant. It was clear as day where his thoughts were centered on.
Walking next to him, Gilbert asserted, "I think it's best that we carry on, onto the next meeting." He peered at the call that failed to go through to Brooke and added swiftly, "I'm sure Mrs Grayson will give you a call once she's off set." He assured Thane, while leading him towards the car parked outside.
