Chapter 175 - Chapter 172 - Unexpected Encounter.

Herbert Medical And Technology

Savannah's vision started to blur as dizziness washed over her, transforming her once-vibrant surroundings into a swirling haze of movement and color. The world tilted beneath her feet, and she felt her strength fading with each passing second. Before she could regain her balance, she lost it completely.

She experienced the unsettling sensation of falling, gravity tugging her downwards. Just as she was about to hit the cold, hard marble floor, strong arms wrapped around her, catching her with ease.

The warmth of his touch and the familiarity of his presence struck her in an instant.

Blaze.

He held her firmly, his grip steady and reassuring. One arm cradled her back while the other slipped beneath her knees, lifting her off the ground as if she were weightless. Instinctively, her body relaxed into his embrace, even though her mind was still reeling from exhaustion.

With great effort, she pried her heavy eyelids open and looked up. As her blurred vision began to clear, she found herself staring into a face she knew all too well.

Blaze was gazing at her intently, his dark eyes searching her face with a mix of concern and something deeper—something she couldn't quite identify. His sharp features, usually so filled with love and unreadable, now held a flicker of unmistakable stoinic, hardening.

His brows knitted together, and his jaw tightened slightly, as if seeing her in such a vulnerable state unsettled him in a way he wasn't accustomed to.

Her forehead glistened with sweat, her skin looked unusually pale, and her heavy-lidded eyes fought to stay open. Blaze took in every detail, his concern growing deeper by the second.

"What happened?" he asked, his voice softer than usual, a stark contrast to the commanding tone he typically used.

Even with the dizziness clouding her mind, Savannah managed a weak, tired smile.

"I thought I wouldn't get to meet you," she whispered, her voice barely audible. "But here you are."

Her words sent a strange feeling through Blaze, one he didn't have the luxury to dissect right now.

He didn't press for more information.

He didn't demand answers.

He didn't hesitate.

"Let's go," he said firmly, his tone leaving no room for debate.

Before she could utter another word, he adjusted his grip and lifted her higher, cradling her in his arms like a bride.

A collective gasp swept through the hall.

Every pair of eyes nearby turned to watch.

The employees stood frozen, their whispers fading as they took in the scene. Their boss—the cold, unapproachable, no-nonsense man—was holding a woman with unmistakable tenderness, carrying her as if she were the most precious thing in the world.

The receptionist who had just turned Savannah away moments ago stood rigidly closer to her chair, her face completely drained of color.

A wave of dread washed over her as she grasped the seriousness of her actions.

Not only had she denied Savannah entry, but she had also done it with a dismissive attitude.

The other receptionist next to her shot her a wide-eyed look, their earlier mockery morphing into sheer panic.

They had seriously misjudged her.

They had no clue who she was to him.

A heavy silence enveloped the room as Blaze strode in, completely unfazed by the hushed whispers and astonished glances. He didn't acknowledge them at all—not even a fleeting glance.

His focus was singular at that moment—Savannah.

With unwavering resolve, he moved forward, his voice cutting through the tension like a knife.

"Arthur."

His secretary, Arthur, who had been standing a few feet away, instantly snapped to attention.

There was no need for further explanation. No need for more words.

He understood exactly what his boss was conveying.

Arthur gave a single nod, silently acknowledging the unspoken command, and with that, Blaze moved past him, cradling Savannah in his arms without saying a word.

The murmurs around them intensified, but Blaze paid them no mind.

His grip on her was both strong and gentle, as if he feared she might vanish if he relaxed his hold even a fraction.

Savannah, still feeling weak, rested her head softly against his chest. The rhythmic thump of his heartbeat resonated in her ears, anchoring her in the present.

She felt the urge to ask where he was taking her.

She wanted to know why he had reacted the way he did.

But at that moment... she was simply too exhausted to think.

So, for the first time in ages, she allowed herself to lean into him, surrendering to the warmth and safety of his embrace.

And Blaze, despite the whirlwind of questions swirling in his mind, held her just a bit tighter.
