Chapter 312 - Chapter 312: Zeus! Like a Puppet in Prometheus’s Hands

Zeus's personality is a significant problem.

This is an undeniable fact.

However, Prometheus seemed utterly unconcerned about his lord's distrust. He simply continued doing what he needed to do, behaving as though everything was normal.

But!

That's only what it seemed like on the surface. In truth, Prometheus quietly made his way to Metis's side.

"My Lady!"

Prometheus greeted her respectfully.

At this moment,

a faint aura of divine power surrounded Prometheus, completely concealing all traces of his presence.

Thanks to this!

Prometheus was able to reach this place unnoticed. Otherwise, in the realm of the heavens, nearly every movement was under Zeus's surveillance and control. Trying to hide like this would have been impossible!

"Hmm,"

Metis nodded slightly and calmly asked, "Prometheus, how are the preparations?"

Although it might seem as if

there was something more to the relationship between Metis and Prometheus, in truth, they had nothing more than a simple superior-subordinate dynamic.

Their relationship was entirely professional.

It's worth noting,

in the Greek pantheon, anything can happen without being surprising, and when nothing happens, that in itself can sometimes seem more intriguing.

That's the strange part of it all.

When Prometheus addressed the matter at hand, he spoke with utmost seriousness: "My Lady, everything is ready. However, to ensure the best outcome, the ideal time to act would be during the moment of world destruction. That's when the chaos will be at its peak, making it the most appropriate time to act."

"The moment of world destruction?"

Metis pondered for a moment, gently stroking her abdomen, then softly asked, "Prometheus, are you sure this won't pose any danger to Abel?"

Prometheus, filled with confidence, replied, "My Lady, you can rest assured on this matter. I would never joke about something like this! I will not allow anything to go wrong. Only Lord Abel can help me achieve my ambitions!"

His eyes gleamed with sharp determination. He had chosen Abel because Zeus just wasn't reliable enough. If that's the case, then Prometheus would never allow anything to happen to Abel.

"Hmm,"

Metis nodded again. She trusted Prometheus, and she knew he wouldn't make light of such a serious matter.

After a brief pause,

Metis continued to ask, "Prometheus, based on your plan, could there be any issues?"

"Hmm…"

Prometheus thought for a moment before shaking his head, "From every angle, based on my calculations and plans, there shouldn't be any issues!"

"However,"

he added seriously, "My Lady, some things are never certain. No matter how perfect the plan, no matter how meticulous the preparation, there's always a chance something might go wrong. This is an undeniable fact."

Prometheus was being entirely serious. He wasn't joking.

In his view, only absolute power ensures nothing goes wrong. Wisdom, no matter how vast, can still falter in the face of overwhelming power.

This was a lesson Prometheus had learned not long after his creation.

That's why,

over the years,

unless it was a joke or a completely non-serious matter, Prometheus would never offer an absolute guarantee. This had always been his way.

No matter the circumstance,

Prometheus would never make an absolute promise that there would be no issues. To him, such guarantees were meaningless.

He wasn't joking!

From any perspective, Prometheus's actions were always without fault. This wasn't a laughing matter.

If,

in any situation, there was indeed an issue, that would be the worst possible outcome.

This was the crux of the matter.

Metis thought for a moment and said, "That matter..."

Prometheus replied without hesitation, "My Lady, when it comes to this matter, you must decide for yourself. Between Lord Abel and the young miss, who is more important? That is for you to consider, not me."

Prometheus remained calm, refraining from expressing any opinion on the matter.

Because!

It simply had no meaning.

Prometheus understood this very well. He knew that in situations like this, debating the issue was entirely pointless.

"..."

Metis gently stroked her abdomen and bit her lip slightly. Her expression darkened—this wasn't a joke.

Rather…

Her second child, who would become the next God-King, was conceived as a result of the Earth Goddess's influence. This child represented the power of the earth.

What if something were to happen to this child?

Looking at Hades, Poseidon, and Zeus, and the conflict between them, Metis didn't want the same fate for her two children.

And!

The best solution was, of course, not to kill the child. Since the child represented the authority of a God-King, killing him was impossible.

Why hadn't Cronus killed Hades, Poseidon, or Zeus, but instead swallowed them whole to imprison them? The reason was simple: the mythological world doesn't allow such actions.

You can imprison someone within the limits of the mythological world's rules.

But to kill them?

Heh…

That's absolutely forbidden. If someone were to actually do that, it would lead to massive consequences. This is a fundamental issue that would never be tolerated.

Because of this!

Given the situation, what would happen next? This was the real crux of the matter. Sometimes, these are decisions Metis would have to make herself.

Prometheus remained silent from start to finish. This was not something he could get involved in.
