Hearing that David was coming to Los Angeles and specifically asking for him, Thomas's hairs stood on end in an instant. He then waved his hands repeatedly, "Sorry, I have to give a speech at Castro this afternoon, I hope Chief Inspector David understands."
"Our Chief Inspector said, you don't have to come, but when he comes looking for you, it won't be so easy to talk to!"
Thomas's expression immediately darkened.
The two IRS agents didn't bother with him anymore and turned to leave.
Just as they were about five or six meters away, a voice calling out from behind them suddenly interrupted.
"Hold on, please tell your Chief Inspector that I will be there."
A person's reputation precedes them; he knew that since David had issued such a stern warning, if he didn't go, he would certainly be in for trouble, so after much hesitation, he complied.
