*Ding-dong*
The grave but soft chime of the bell made Evelyn walk to the gate, and open it after seeing who it was. She smiled at the woman outside, before she lowered her head to the one beside her:
"Welcome back, sweetheart."
"Mom!"
Jason jumped in excitement, displaying the excess of energy he still had even as the afternoon was coming to an end, and he ran into the house.
"Jason! Be careful! Don't run!"
But the boy was already at the door of the living room, and he disappeared inside, leaving Evelyn to shake her head, and smile wryly at Jennifer. The burgundy-haired woman responded with a smile full of understanding, and asked, as if noticing something:
"You just came back from the sea?"
Evelyn was stunned:
"How did you know?"
