"Happy birthday, Evelyn / Eve / mom!"
The different voices came together to wish Evelyn a happy twenty-eighth birthday as the sun went down to signal the evening of the thirteenth of February of the new year.
The brunette smiled widely, her heart content, as she looked at the small crowd around the table, and surrounding the not so big six stories strawberry cake.
She gave the group that could be called her family an affectionate look, and bent down to blow the candles.
Clapping sounds rose to suppress the soft but joyous background music, with Jason being the most enthusiastic source.
The parents and the godparents looked at him with amused but good-natured smiles.
Evelyn looked at everyone with gratitude:
"Thank you, everyone, for celebrating my birthday with me."
Dinaia shook her head, and came to hug Evelyn:
"We are family, Eve, there is no need to thank us."
Evelyn smiled softly, a moved expression on her face.
