Chapter 152 - The Past XXII

The gnashing cold found its way into the dimly lit room, where Sarah sat, her gaze fixed on the closed window with its parted curtains.

"How am I to sit here and do nothing?" she mused, her lips twitching in fury. "Draven is in danger, and so are the other vampires." Her toes curled against the rug, her hand disappearing into her dress sleeve.

Where was her mother? She needed her now, to come to her aid.

Why did she not have powers just like her mother?

Why was her only weapon her blood, a weapon that was a threat to others?

The sweet aroma of freshly baked bread wafted through the air; there was no doubt that the butler was preparing tantalizing human food to satisfy her thirst buds. But neither the bread nor its sweetness would keep her here.

"If mother does not arrive, then I must take it upon myself to act, to save Draven," Sarah declared. Her heart clenched tightly, fear reaching her knees - the fear of losing Draven.
