Void Sentinel — Moments Before Earth Arrival
The massive vessel slowed as it approached Earth's solar system. Its sophisticated sensors immediately detected an unusual energy signature enveloping the planet - a powerful magical barrier that altered the primordial laws of space around Earth.
ALERT: Spatial Restriction Detected. Analysis indicates high-level magical barrier. Power signature equivalent to Low King Level. Initiating full scan...
ALERT: Barrier analysis complete. Options available: Direct breach or systematic deconstruction of magical matrix. Recommend direct breach. Awaiting command confirmation.
The ship came to a graceful halt near the moon's orbit as its twin AI systems, Crescent and Mother Empress, processed the incoming data.
"A barrier around the entire planet?" Rachel asked, her brow furrowed as she studied the holographic readouts. "Who could have that kind of power?"
Diana stood from her command chair, gracefully making her way to the main console. The holographic interface sprang to life under her touch as she analyzed the sensor data. "The spatial laws around Earth have been completely locked down," she said, her expression grave.
A knowing smile crossed Orach's face. "Adirosas," he said simply, drumming his fingers on his armrest. "He and Aurelia are down there, just as we thought. My brother always did have a flair for the dramatic - sealing off an entire planet just to ensure we wouldn't be disturbed during our reunion."
"Dad, that's..." Rachel shook her head in disbelief. "That's completely excessive!"
Diana massaged her temples. "Three of them on Earth at once. The planet may not survive." Her tone was only half-joking. "Your brother and his wife, are going to give some people nightmares."
"It's just a simple planetary lockdown," Orach said with an innocent shrug. "I don't see the problem."
Diana gave him a fond but exasperated look. "That's exactly what worries me." She leaned down to kiss his cheek. "But they're family, and we'll welcome them properly."
Rachel had grown quiet, her fingers dancing across her wrist terminal's interface. The magical equations flowing across her screen were unlike anything she'd ever encountered.
"Dad!" she exclaimed suddenly. "This barrier - the complexity is incredible! The magical theory behind it... Can we analyze it further? Please?"
Orach chuckled at his daughter's enthusiasm. "You can learn directly from your uncle once we land. He and Aurelia will be delighted to teach you everything they know." He paused, then added, "But since you're so eager - Mother Empress, initiate a preliminary scan of the barrier. Store the data for later analysis."
"As you command, Young Master," Mother Empress responded, her voice echoing through the bridge.
"Once the scan is complete, prepare for barrier breach," Orach continued. "We'll use the ship's quantum displacement field."
Both AIs acknowledged the command in unison. Within moments, the scan was complete, and the massive vessel began to move. The Void Sentinel existed in its own pocket of altered space-time, and as it approached the barrier, reality itself seemed to bend. The ship's quantum field collided with Adirosas's barrier, and for a brief moment, the sky above Earth lit up with impossible colors as two god-like powers met. Then, like crystal shattering, the barrier gave way.
The Void Sentinel materialized in Earth's orbit, its true mass hidden in a fold of space-time to prevent any gravitational effects on the planet below.
"Arrival complete, Young Master," Crescent announced. "Mistress, Princess, I trust you found your journey satisfactory?"
Diana smiled warmly. "More than satisfactory, Crescent. This ship has truly become our home."
"Thanks for everything, Crescent," Rachel added, her hood unable to hide her smile.
Kara stepped forward, her expression thoughtful. "I may not return for some time, but I want you to know how grateful I am, Crescent. You, like Diana and Rachel, have been a teacher to me. Thank you." Her voice grew softer as she looked around the bridge with melancholy. Though brief, her stay had transformed this ship into a second home—a sanctuary where people truly cared about her, helping her overcome the loss of her parents, her world, and the burden of their unfulfilled final wish. Here, she had discovered her true potential and found her path toward becoming stronger. She now knew that one day she would have the power not just to shape her own future, but to protect it, ensuring she would never again lose what she held dear.
"You will always be welcome aboard—all of you—as long as you remain loyal to the house," Crescent replied warmly, though with a subtle hint of warning, staying true to his primary directives.
Diana and Rachel exchanged wry smiles while Kara, though initially stunned, gave a knowing chuckle and nod.
Orach nodded seeing this, then issued his final commands. "Crescent, transport Hal Jordan, Laira Omoto, and John Stewart to the Hall of Justice." He turned to Diana. "You three should prepare for transport as well. I'll join you shortly."
Diana nodded. "Ready when you are," she said, turning to Rachel and Kara. "Ladies?"
"Ready," Kara replied, excitement and nervousness warring in her voice at the thought of meeting her cousin.
"One moment, Mom," Rachel said, raising her hand. A ripple in space appeared, and she stepped through, returning moments later. "Now I'm ready."
Diana raised an eyebrow at her daughter's mysterious departure but decided to trust her judgment. "Crescent, energize."
In a shimmer of soft blue light, the three women vanished, materializing near the memorial site on Earth.
Once they were gone, Orach's expression turned serious. He gestured, bringing up a detailed projection of Earth. "Crescent, begin planetary scan. Mother Empress, I want you to cross-reference any anomalous readings with Earth's historical data."
"Young Master," Mother Empress materialized on the deck besides him, her solemn gaze fixed upon Orach. "Do you sense something wrong?"
"Yes," Orach nodded, gazing at Earth's projection. "You know my connection to the primordial laws of space and time runs deep. Something feels wrong—as if this planet's spatial and temporal laws are disturbed. Adirosas's magical restriction couldn't have caused this—he's an experienced mage who knows better."
"What do you suggest, Young Master?" asked Mother Empress.
"I'd rather not transform into my god forms to investigate the cause yet," Orach explained. "Both of you, begin scanning and help me trace and map the source of this disturbance. Compare it to the planet's last readings before our departure."
"Understood, Young Master," said Mother Empress as her eyes flashed. "Link established. Crescent, initiate scan."
"Initiating scan," replied Crescent.
Soon, on Earth's projection, red spots of varying sizes began appearing worldwide. A particularly large spot emerged in an impossible location—an area where no landmass existed according to Mother Empress's downloaded Earth data. As the scans continued, previously hidden parts of the projection materialized, revealing a mysterious island near the British Isles beneath the large red spot.
Orach leaned forward, his gaze intense as he gestured to enhance the mysterious region. "This is... interesting. A hidden island, completely masked from Earth's records." His fingers danced through the holographic interface, manipulating the display. "Show me detailed readings of the area."
The data streams flowed across the holographic display as Mother Empress and Crescent compiled their findings.
"Young Master," Mother Empress's voice carried a note of interest, "I'm detecting a spatial distortion. The readings suggest an artificially maintained pocket of isolated space-time."
"Elaborate," Orach commanded, his eyes narrowing as he studied the readings.
"The space within the distortion appears to be operating under different physical laws," Crescent explained. "Energy patterns indicate advanced technology, possibly combined with magical elements. The barrier is designed to keep the internal space separate from normal reality."
"Show me the dimensional frequency analysis," Orach requested, waving his hand to bring up additional data streams.
Mother Empress projected a new set of readings. "The pocket dimension appears stable but heavily reinforced by magic. Whoever created this has gone to extraordinary lengths to keep it hidden. The technology required for such precise spatial manipulation exceeds known Earth capabilities."
"And yet..." Orach mused, his fingers tracing patterns in the holographic interface, a thoughtful expression crossing his face. After a moment of contemplation, he murmured, "I believe I should pay this site a personal visit." Rising from his seat, he said, "Mother Empress, let's go exploring, shall we?"
"Of course, Young Master," Mother Empress replied with a concerned smile. "Though I must advise caution—the energy readings from this location are... unusual."
Orach's lips curved into a slight smile. "Your concern is noted, but please remember who and what I am now." He gazed directly into her eyes and continued, "Mother Empress, you've grown more protective of me since our ambush to the Void Realm, and I understand why. You are, after all, programmed after my mother. But with my mastery of Void Walk, we can't be trapped. Any space, any realm—we can always find our way back." His smile turned into a knowing smirk. "Besides, sometimes the most interesting discoveries require a direct approach."
Mother Empress's eyes flickered briefly as she released a resigned sigh. "Of course. Would you like me to inform Mistress Diana?"
"No need to worry her," Orach replied, rising from his seat. "This won't take long. Crescent, maintain position and continue scanning. If there are other secrets on this planet, I want to know all. Alert me to any changes in the anomaly patterns."
"Acknowledged," Crescent responded. "Transport coordinates locked on the anomaly's center."
Orach extended his hand toward Mother Empress. "Shall we, Mother?"
Mother Empress smiled gently as her form vanished. A moment later, her voice emanated from Orach's terminal: "Us against all realms, right, Young Master?"
"Always," he said softly, smiling. "Energize."
In a flash of blue light, Orach vanished from the bridge while Crescent maintained a vigilant watch over Earth's surface, their sensors focused on the mysterious anomaly that had captured their master's interest.
Earth-Hall of Justice
A boom tube materialized in front of the Hall of Justice, stepping through, Diana emerged first, followed by Rachel and Kara, with Cheetah bringing up the rear. Adirosas and Aurelia stepped through next, their magical auras subtly rippling the air around them. Superman, Batman, and Cyborg were the last to exit before the portal closed up.
"Welcome back," J'onn J'onzz's voice carried warmly across the hall leading to the meeting room. He stood at the entrance, flanked by Flash and Aquaman. Behind them, the rest of the Justice League had assembled, along with several members of the Teen Titans who couldn't contain their enthusiasm at welcoming back one of their heroes, Wonder Woman and their comrade Raven, while also eyeing the new arrival, Kara, with curiosity.
"J'onn," Diana acknowledged with a nod, her eyes sweeping across the room. She shared a meaningful look with her sister Donna, Wonder Girl, before fixing her gaze on the three former Green Lanterns—Hal, John, and Laira. "I see everyone has arrived."
"Let's begin," Batman said, taking his seat at the table. "We have much to discuss."
As the League members settled around the table, the Titans gathered nearby, their excited whispers barely contained. Beast Boy's eyes widened as he watched Kara follow Diana and Rachel.
"Who is she?" he whispered to his teammates, clearly smitten. "She's absolutely beautiful!"
Bumblebee rolled her eyes. "Control yourself, Gar. This is a serious meeting."
"But come on," Arsenal chimed in, his eyes lingered on Kara's figure, "you have to admit—she is hot!"
"Did either of you horn dogs, notice the 'S' symbol and Kryptonian design of her suit?" Batgirl cut in, her voice carrying a note of warning. "She could probably vaporize you with heat vision if you annoyed her."
"Worth it," Beast Boy grinned. "No pain, no gain, right? The heart wants what it wants. Besides, she looks about our age—do you think she'd give me a chance if I tried?"
"Gar, you need help!" Blue Beetle grabbed Beast Boy's shoulder. "You're always falling for dangerous girls, amigo. First Raven, and now her. Listen, maybe this will cool those hormones of yours — my scarab's scans show her suit has Saiyan tech, just like Raven's suit. I'd be careful if I were you." Blue Beetle spoke nervously, worried for his friend's safety. His scarab was sending warning signals as it tried to analyze the suits worn by the three women. Whether it was Diana's and Rachel's enhanced suits or Kara's suit, each one made his scarab's sensors fail, displaying only warning signs on his visor.
"Finally, someone with sense," Wonder Girl muttered, while Batgirl and Miss Martian nodded in agreement.
Beast Boy and Arsenal paled as realization struck. "Wait—she's connected to Orach?" Beast Boy swallowed hard, remembering his previous encounter with Rachel's father. "I'm out!"
"Same here," Arsenal quickly agreed. "Way out of our league!"
"Quiet," Nightwing and Starfire hushed them, seeing Batman's stern gaze fall on the group.
Cough
A pointed cough from Cyborg finally silenced the young heroes. The senior League members wore varying expressions - some serious, while others like Aquaman, Diana, Flash, and Cheetah couldn't hide their amusement. Adirosas and Aurelia, seated on magically conjured thrones beside the round table, exchanged entertained glances.
Rachel and Kara stood behind Diana's chair - Rachel to the right, Kara to the left. Their enhanced senses had caught every word, making Rachel sigh at their antics while Kara fought back a slight blush. At that moment, Raven and Diana's terminals pulsed with Orach's message. But before they could open it, Batman, eager to proceed, retrieved a compact computer from his utility belt and established a secure communication channel with Generals Swanwick and Lane.
"Thank you for including us," General Swanwick's face appeared on screen. His gaze swept over Diana, Rachel, and Kara, lingering on the familiar symbol adorning Kara's suit. Though questions burned in his eyes, he focused on the immediate matters. "Welcome back, Wonder Woman, Raven. The League feels whole again." His expression grew grave as he noticed the former Green Lanterns' ringless hands. "I take it the Oa mission was successful?"
Hal's bitter laugh cut through the air. "That monster made his move, General. Of course it was successful."
"Hal!" Laira gripped his arm, trying to prevent him from antagonizing Diana and Rachel.
Hal met their cold gazes with resigned eyes. "We barely saw you on the ship, but I need to say this. I appreciate you both rescuing us, Wonder Woman and Raven, but was it necessary to let Orach destroy everything?"
His words sent shockwaves through the room. Wonder Girl and Batgirl, familiar with Orach's methods, seemed less surprised than their fellow Titans, though their expressions remained troubled at the news of the Green Lantern Corps' destruction.
"You still don't understand, do you?" Rachel's voice carried an icy edge as she fixed Hal with an unwavering stare. "Our house saved you three, despite how the Guardians treated my father. His response was inevitable. Yet he showed mercy by ending the campaign even though some escaped."
Adirosas and Aurelia exchanged startled glances at this mention of their brother showing restraint.
"Mercy?" John stood, his voice tight with controlled anger. "The Corps is gone! Mogo - a living planet - destroyed! Oa lies empty, and you call this mercy because a few managed to flee?"
"You assume they truly escaped," Rachel's words carried a chilling implication. "Only those who stayed out of the fight are truly safe. The others live solely because my father permits it. We can track their energy signatures even now. As long as they don't cross our bottom lines, they'll survive. That is my father's mercy. Be grateful for it."
John sank back into his chair, while Hal and Laira processed this revelation in troubled silence.
"Raven," Adirosas spoke up after a moment, his curiosity evident, "would you share the details of this conflict? I'm interested in how my brother handled it."
Rachel glanced at Diana, who gave a slight nod of approval. Without further hesitation, she activated her terminal, preparing to show the complete record of the war that had forever changed the Oa system.
As Rachel displayed the logs, audience watched in stunned silence as the events unfolded - from the tense confrontation between Orach and the Guardians to the devastating scale of warfare that followed. Many paled at witnessing the sheer destructive power of the Zeta.
When the recording ended and Rachel lowered her hand, a heavy silence blanketed the room. Everyone present needed time to process the magnitude of what they had just witnessed.
"That wasn't just... mercy," Adirosas broke the silence, his eyes narrowed in concentration. His expression shifted as realization dawned. "No... this wasn't about the Green Lantern Corps at all. It was a trap."
"What exactly are you suggesting?" Diana asked sharply, as both her and Rachel narrowed their eyes. She had sensed something unusual about her partner's tactics during the conflict, and Adirosas's words seemed to confirm her suspicions. "What kind of trap? And for who?"
"None of you have witnessed the Scarlet Zeta in its true destroyer mode," Adirosas said, his expression darkening. "There's a reason why even we Emperor-rank beings fear this machine. During the Great War that birthed this monstrosity, it demonstrated power beyond comprehension - appearing and vanishing across the battlefield, claiming lives before enemies could even register their fate." His grip tightened on his staff as memories of transmitted logs surfaced. "To think it really did survive and has now returned to my brother's side..."
"But husband," Aurelia interjected thoughtfully, "isn't this a blessing? With the Zeta and Orach's strength combined, the Scarlet Reaper will rise once again when he returns to establish his domain in Alacrity's higher realm. That machine alone would make potential challengers think twice."
"Yes and no," Adirosas's eyes narrowed. "The machine's reputation will keep most threats at bay through fear. But that's precisely what troubles me—fear is a double-edged sword." He gazed into the distance. "Those who celebrated brother Orach's temporary fall, who mocked him when his power stagnated... they won't accept feeling fear toward someone they thought they'd surpassed. While we, his family, know that machine—his sword—will never turn against us, the other Emperor ranks will demand its destruction, citing the Saiyan Empire's declaration of its demise after the war."
As they contemplated the challenges awaiting Orach in the higher realms, Diana and Rachel's expressions hardened hearing their words, their fists clenching at their sides. Though they maintained their composure, internally they burned with determination - to grow stronger, to stand beside him, to protect the man who meant everything to them both.
"Husband, don't forget, with his ascension to Primordial Godhood, those concerns are meaningless," Aurelia noted.
"Perhaps..." Adirosas's voice cracked. "But that machine... it reminds me of everything—the injuries, the coma, his inability to reach Emperor Rank, and worst of all, the change in his personality. We should have been there." His grip tightened on his staff as his eyes shifted to purple, his killing intent flaring and instantly plunging the room's temperature at the memory of the Androids who had attacked his higher realm, preventing him from aiding his brother.
Aurelia stood up and embraced him gently burying his face in her bosom. "Don't go there. By the grace of the Primordial Gods, he survived, becoming something greater—a new Primordial god, now walking an unprecedented path. Add to that, with Zeta and the Dauntless-class warship, he rivals the Saiyan Empire itself. Let the past rest."
As Adirosas's tension eased under her gentle gaze his killing intent receding, the Justice League and Titans caught their breath as the oppressive, chilling atmosphere lifted. They absorbed this revelation in stunned silence.
"I'm fine now, my love," Adirosas said softly, giving Aurelia's hand a gentle squeeze before she returned to her seat. Turning back to Diana, Adirosas's expression grew solemn. "My apologies. That war... it left deep scars on all of us." He drew a deep breath before continuing, "To answer your question, it's about timing. Had the Zeta unleashed its full strength, the energy alone would have resonated through this entire lower realm. The fight wouldn't have lasted more than an instant."
His gaze swept across the room before settling on the former Green Lanterns, particularly John. "What you witnessed was both mercy and strategic misdirection. While my brother did intend to demonstrate the futility of resistance, your forces were never his primary concern." His voice dropped lower as his eyes flashed a purple hue. "He used this entire confrontation to lure out a specific target. That's why when the target didn't appear until the very end, he ended the battle and let the survivors live. Otherwise, believe me when I say this — we seven believe in completely crushing our enemies and leaving no survivors when we make our move."
"We were... bait," John whispered, horror dawning in his eyes as the other former Lanterns tensed, the full weight of their situation finally sinking in.
"You mean he was holding back the entire time?" Hal asked, his voice tight with disbelief and resignation as he remembered watching the Green Lantern Corps' destruction from the Void Sentinel.
"Holding back?" Adirosas let out a short, humorless laugh. "The Scarlet Zeta you faced was operating at less than a fraction of its true capacity. Think of it as... testing the waters. Watching. Waiting."
Batman's eyes narrowed behind his cowl. "What target? What being could be so powerful that Orach would need such elaborate bait?"
"Now that... is the right question." Adirosas grew contemplative, then turned toward Rachel, who, along with Diana, remained eerily quiet. "Niece... He was aiming to lure out that Hand of Creation, wasn't he?"
Rachel's eyes narrowed slightly, her jaw tightening before she answered, "Yes. The Hand of Creation—Perpetua—acted when Dad saved Earth from the Flash's blunder, which led to the creation of the rift above Central City. She's the one responsible for his banishment."
"The Hand of Creation?" Aquaman's voice carried a hint of concern. "What exactly are we dealing with?"
"Just as the name implies," Diana continued, "she is literally an offshoot of the God of Creation who formed our entire lower realm."
Superman leaned forward, his expression troubled. "Wonder Woman, are you saying there truly is a singular Creator God? Unlike your father Zeus and the other Earth deities?"
"That's exactly what I'm saying," Diana said with a solemn nod. "This entity, fearing Orach's power, seized her chance as mother of many universes when his attention was focused on the rift. She ambushed him, leading to his banishment into the most dreaded realm—The Void Realm."
"The Void Realm..." Adirosas whispered, his grip tightening on his staff until his knuckles turned white.
"It's nothing short of a miracle that he returned to us at all," Aurelia added, her usually confident voice wavering slightly.
"That's precisely why our family bears this grudge," Diana continued, her eyes flickering with barely contained anger. "And why she's likely Orach's true target."
"'Mark my words, the day I return, I will give you a fate worse than death,'" Cheetah's voice cut through the tension. "I still remember that day—his words echoed throughout the world." Her gaze swept across everyone present before she added, "It wouldn't surprise me if Diana's speculation is correct."
"But why this elaborate scheme?" Aurelia asked, her crimson eyes narrowing. "With his current power, brother Orach could tear apart this reality to reach her."
"That's exactly the problem," Adirosas explained, leaning back with a knowing look. "My brother has ascended to Primordial Godhood. His power - his Primordial God Ki - now transcends this realm entirely. The more he uses it, the stronger the pull becomes from the higher realms and the God realm. This lower realm simply cannot contain his full existence anymore."
He paused, his gaze shifting meaningfully between Diana and Rachel. "To remain here with those he cherishes, he must carefully restrain his power. Isn't that right?"
Diana and Rachel nodded solemnly, confirming his words.
"This... this is nuts!" Beast Boy murmured, taking a shaky step back. The other Teen Titans and some members of the Justice League appeared visibly unnerved as they processed the revelations about Orach's true nature and intentions.
"So the destruction he brought was a calculated move to draw her out, since she claimed to be the Mother of the universes?" Batman asked.
"Correct," Adirosas nodded approvingly. "Too little force would fail to draw attention. Too much would risk destabilizing the realm itself. My brother's performance was spot on. What you all witnessed was akin to watching an ocean through a keyhole. The true scope of his power..." He trailed off, shaking his head. "Let's just say there's a reason why even the higher realms grows restless after feeling his ascension."
"Guys, is this even ethically right?" Black Canary spoke up, her voice laden with genuine concern. "If everything we've heard is true, then Orach is essentially challenging the God who created us all, by hunting one of its direct agents. Shouldn't we be trying to prevent this?"
Diana's expression turned grave as she addressed their concerns. "I understand why you would think that. But, you're viewing this through a mortal lens and there are things you are not aware off. Let just say that the God of Creation established a natural order - one that the Hand violated by ambushing Orach when he was protecting that very order. This isn't about rebellion against our creator rather, it's about justice."
"With all due respect, Wonder Woman," Green Arrow interjected, rising from his seat and slamming his palm on the table, "are you listening to yourself? We're talking about GOD! I understand your feelings for Orach, but these actions make him the villain, not the hero. Supporting this puts us on the wrong side. How can you be certain the Creator would share your perspective?"
The temperature in the room suddenly plummeted as Adirosas released a fraction of his magical aura. An oppressive pressure descended, forcing most present to bow their heads involuntarily. Only Diana and Rachel, tapping into their Ki, managed to resist. Diana grabbed Kara's hand and channeled her Ki just in time as Kara was about to succumb to the pressure.
"Your 'God of Creation' is merely a low-tier creator deity," Adirosas stated, his voice carrying a hint of killing intent. "We Emperor-rank beings surpass him in power. My brother, who has now transcended even my level as a High Emperor, is beyond his reach. The very notion that your god could challenge him is..." his lips curved into a cold smile, "...laughable."
"Adirosas, enough!" Diana commanded, her voice carrying the authority of Orach's future wife.
The pressure lifted as Adirosas closed his eyes, leaning back and sighed. "As you wish, future sister-in-law. Though I must say, your friends' perspective is remarkably limited."
Several of the Teen Titans slumped in relief, sweat beading on their foreheads from the brief display of power.
"Thank you," Diana said softly, before letting go of Kara and addressing the group again. "I understand your hesitation, but we have confirmation from a reliable source that we have permission to deal with Perpetua when the time comes."
"A reliable source?" Batman's eyes narrowed beneath his cowl. "You mean Lucifer Morningstar."
Diana and Rachel exchanged startled glances. "How did you know about him?" Diana asked, eyebrow raised.
"Orach mentioned him some time ago," Batman replied matter-of-factly. "And Cheetah informed me of your conversations with him."
"Hold up!" Cyborg interjected, his human eye widening. "Lucifer Morningstar? As in the actual Devil?"
"I'd like to know as well," Superman added, leaning forward in his chair.
"Yes, the literal Devil, King of Hell," Diana though confused by their reactions, confirmed. "He's here on Earth. He and Orach met at the Smithsonian Gala and formed an alliance of sorts. After Orach's banishment, he approached Rachel and me, explaining that the Celestial beings of our realm want to avoid war. They've agreed that as long as Orach spares Perpetua's life, he may deliver whatever other punishment he sees fit."
"Given what we now know about God's existence, I guess the Devil's presence shouldn't be too shocking," Flash mused, his brow furrowed. "Though it's unsettling to think the Prince of Darkness walks among us."
"Why is this so surprising to many of you?," Diana asked with a raised eye brow. "Mr. Morningstar fought alongside us during the Thanagarian invasion, accompanied by his most loyal follower and his brother, an angel of the Lord."
Before the stunned group could voice their questions, Rachel activated her terminal, projecting images of Lucifer Morningstar, Mazikeen, and Amenadiel from the battlefield.
"That was the Devil?" Cyborg asked in disbelief.
"I just thought they were aliens..." murmured Flash.
"So did I," Aquaman agreed.
"I met the Devil..."murmured Superman remembering meeting Orach and this person at the Gala with Lois.
"That's an Angel..." Black Canary murmured, accidentally letting slip "hot" and earning a concerned glance from Green Arrow.
"An Avian?" Aurelia questioned, studying the images of the brothers with surprise.
"Unlikely," Adirosas replied, his eyes narrowing as he examined the projections. "More probable that this realm's creator deity drew inspiration from the Avian race."
"Seriously?" Aurelia scoffed. "What is wrong with this realm's creator god?"
"Aunt Aurelia," Rachel asked curiously, "do you have something against the Avian race?"
Aurelia's expression softened at being called 'Aunt', offering Rachel a warm smile. "It's not so much dislike as irritation. They've always been rather pompous, acting superior despite their higher realm ranking among the lowest of the known thirteen. However, recently, they've grown even more insufferable because a few promising talents have emerged from some of their subsidiary lower realms. The Avians' King, boasting about these upstarts' feats, claimed they rival the Seven Demon Prodigies or Young Heavenly Emperors, like your father and uncle here," she explained, gesturing toward Adirosas.
"And that's why she's irritated by them," Adirosas sighed. "Every Avian we've encountered has been... less than humble in their words."
"Hey now," Aurelia said, playfully slapping Adirosas's shoulder before turning to Rachel. "It's not just me, either. Everyone's getting fed up with them. One of those upstarts even had the audacity to challenge another of your uncles, Brother Chenyu, a fellow Young Heavenly Emperor. When Brother Chenyu's servant thoroughly defeated their champion, instead of accepting defeat gracefully, the Avians claimed the servant fought unfairly—as if that was the only reason their champion lost. Honestly they are a nuisance."
Rachel nodded in understanding, mentally noting to include this information in her ongoing research about the higher realms that she had begun while aboard the ship.
"Anyway," Diana addressed the group, her clear blue eyes focusing particularly on Green Arrow and Black Canary. "While I understand your concerns, I hope you now see we are not in the wrong. However, let me be clear: this is a matter for the House of Gula. Orach has made his decision, and as his future wife and daughter, Rachel and I will stand by his side. We're not asking for anyone else to get involved."
Her calm, resolute tone and unwavering gaze made it clear that this wasn't up for debate.
"Diana," Superman started, his expression concerned, "we're not questioning your loyalty or judgment. We're just worried about the broader implications—"
Diana raised her hand, silencing Superman. "Are you really asking me that? Do you honestly believe Orach would be that irresponsible or cruel? Unless provoked, he has only ever brought advancement and peace. He has helped us all and fixed the grave mistakes of others—mistakes that shook the very foundation of our universe's reality." Flash hung his head at these words as Diana continued, "I trust him to give Perpetua a fitting punishment—one that won't harm our lower realm."
Clap
A resounding clap echoed through the room as Cheetah rose from her seat, drawing everyone's attention.
"Enough," she declared firmly. "Superman, Diana - let's end this debate. And let me be clear: when the time comes, I will stand with Orach. This isn't up for discussion. That man gave me back my humanity when I was losing myself to the beast within. He helped me become a cultivator, gave me a second chance at life." Her gaze softened as she turned to Batman. "Because of him, I found my way back... to all of you, to you."
Flash stood next, his expression resolute. "Diana speaks the truth. Every time I've made catastrophic mistakes, Orach was there to help us fix them. While I may not always agree with his methods, if he's choosing to spare Perpetua's life, that says something. Count me in."
Cyborg followed suit, examining his cybernetic hand thoughtfully. "I owe him too. Before Orach and the Mother Empress helped me, I feared what I'd become. Now I have mastery over majority of the systems. Diana, you'll have my support as well."
"We all owe him," Batman's grave voice cut through the tension. "The Flashpoint incident affected everyone in this room. Though the memories of that alternate timeline may have faded, the feelings remain. Without Orach's intervention, we would be living in a world consumed by war, our loved ones either dead or dying. Some of us," he paused meaningfully, "wouldn't even exist."
His gaze softened as he looked at Cheetah, then turned to meet Diana's eyes. "On a personal level, he helped me find closure for... old wounds. Showed me that even in darkness, light can flourish. He proved that possibilities exist beyond what I thought possible after..." Batman took a steadying breath. "You have my full support in this, Diana. Whatever you need."
"Batman..." Superman whispered, his voice heavy with disbelief. "Not you too..."
"Well said," Aquaman spoke with conviction. "While those timeline memories may have faded, I remember the profound sense of loss. In that other reality, I know, I lost Mera." His voice softened at the mention of his future wife's name. "I have this life, I have her back, because of Orach's intervention." He turned to Diana, his eyes reflecting unwavering resolve. "So what if we face a god? I know in my heart what's right and wrong. Orach has never given me reason to doubt his integrity. Your family will have my full support, whatever form that may take."
"As do you have ours," J'onn J'onzz added solemnly. "This world became a true home for my niece and me because Orach awakened us and offered us sanctuary. Our debt to him runs deep."
A soft chuckle broke through the earnest atmosphere, gradually building into hearty laughter.
HAHAHAHAHA!
Adirosas threw his head back, one hand covering his face as his laughter filled the room. When he finally composed himself, his eyes sparkled with delight. "Brilliant... absolutely brilliant! This proves it - he has truly returned!"
Aurelia smiled warmly, nostalgia evident in her expression. "This is the effect all you Young Heavenly Emperors have," she mused. "You inspire such genuine loyalty without ever having to ask for it." Her eyes grew distant, remembering the vibrant young Saiyan who had become her friend before the Android War had nearly taken him from them. "He really is back."
Diana and Rachel exchanged a proud glance as they absorbed the overwhelming support. It was a testament to how deeply Orach had touched the lives of Earth's greatest heroes. Diana's eyes softened as she addressed the group, "Thank you all. Your faith in him means more than you know."
"He truly is amazing..." a soft voice cut through the ensuing silence. All eyes turned to its source - Kara, who seemed lost in thought as she reflected on the passionate testimonials, particularly Batman's, whose projection during her training simulations had left quite an impression.
Batman's eyes narrowed beneath his cowl as he studied the unfamiliar face. "Diana," he said, his tone measured but firm, "perhaps it's time you introduced us to your new companion."
Superman sat up straighter and took a deep breath, turning his full attention to Kara. "Yes," he agreed, his voice carrying a mix of curiosity and concern, "I believe proper introductions are long overdue, Miss..."
Lost in thought, Kara didn't notice the expectant faces until Diana gently nudged her shoulder. She blinked, coming back to the present. "Oh? What's up, Diana?"
"Oh, nothing much," Diana replied with a wry smile. "Just some people who'd like to meet you properly." She gestured toward the assembled group, who watched them with varying degrees of curiosity.
Kara's eyes widened as she realized she'd been caught daydreaming during such an important moment. Straightening her posture, she pressed a small panel on her suit's collar, deactivating the universal translator. Her gaze found Superman's, and with a gentle smile, she prepared to speak in their native Kryptonian tongue.
In flawless Kryptonian, Kara addressed Superman directly: "Greetings, Kal-El, son of Jor-El. I am Kara Zor-El... your older cousin."
The revelation sent a visible shock through Superman, his usually composed demeanor cracking slightly. While Batman's eyes narrowed further, the other League members, though unable to understand the alien language, could sense the weight of the moment.
"How... how is this possible?" Superman responded in their native tongue, his voice barely above a whisper. "I was told I was the last of El..."
Kara's eyes softened with understanding. "My parents believed in Uncle Jor-El's findings, so they prepared a pod for me too. I was supposed to arrive before you to help raise you. But my pod... it veered off course and fell into another dimension." She paused, gathering her thoughts. "I remained in suspended animation for decades, preserved by our world's technology until Orach and Diana rescued me, and then Rachel awakened me."
Batman, noting the intense exchange in the alien language, turned to Diana. "Care to translate for those of us who don't speak Kryptonian?"
Diana nodded, her expression gentle. "She is Kara Zor-El, Superman's older cousin. Another survivor of Krypton. She had been trapped in cryogenic stasis in another dimension for decades."
The room fell into stunned silence as the implications of this revelation sank in. The heroes' initial tension began to fade. Though they had been wary of another Kryptonian after Zod's invasion, seeing Kara alongside Wonder Woman and Raven had calmed their concerns. Learning of her relation to Superman only further eased their minds.
"Seeing that suit's aesthetics and that 'S', I pretty much guessed she was another Kryptonian..." Flash whispered, breaking the silence. "But, Superman's older cousin, huh."
Cyborg leaned forward, his cybernetic eye scanning Kara with interest. "I can't scan her. That suit… it only looks Kryptonian but, it's Saiyan tech."
"Orach and I rescued her, and Rachel awakened her." Diana turned to Kara. "Kara, since Superman can understand Kryptonian, that should be enough for your test, right?"
Following Diana's cue, Kara nodded and reactivated her suit's universal translator. Her posture straightened as she addressed the assembled heroes.
"It's a pleasure to meet you all," she began, her voice clear and steady. "As Diana mentioned, I am Kara Zor-El, cousin to Kal-El." She turned to Superman with a gentle smile. "I apologize for speaking in Kryptonian first, but I needed to verify something important - whether my little cousin had maintained his connection to our heritage and understood the legacy of our people."
Kara turned to address Adirosas and Aurelia, bowing respectfully. "Lord Adirosas, Lady Aurelia, I've learned of how you defended this world and protected my cousin. On behalf of the House of El, I thank you for your aid."
Adirosas and Aurelia exchanged a knowing glance before Adirosas nodded. "It's fine, young one. We had our own reasons to interfere."
Kara straightened and replied, "I know. But nonetheless, you saved the only family I have left. I am truly grateful."
Adirosas and Aurelia acknowledged her words with silent nods, allowing her to turn her attention back to the champions of Earth.
"My journey here wasn't as straightforward as planned," Kara began, her voice soft but steady. "I was supposed to arrive before Kal-El, tasked by my parents with the responsibility of raising and protecting my baby cousin. But fate had other plans. My pod was caught in a dimensional rift, trapping me in cryogenic sleep for decades in another reality."
She turned to Diana and Rachel, gratitude evident in her smile. "Everything changed when Orach and Diana found me. They brought me aboard their ship, and Rachel..." she paused, meeting Rachel's eyes warmly, "...she gave me back my life when she awakened me."
Kara's gaze found Superman again, her voice thick with emotion. "Adjusting hasn't been easy. Coming to terms with losing Krypton, my parents, everything I knew... and discovering that my baby cousin had grown up on Earth without someone like him to protect and guide him—" She took a steadying breath. "I felt I had failed you and broken my promise to my parents—and in many ways, I did fail you. But seeing the man you've become, how you've risen as one of Earth's greatest champions, building a life both as a Earth human and Superman, I'm deeply grateful to the family that raised you." Her eyes glistened with pride. "Uncle Jor-El and Aunt Lara would be so proud of you, Kal. Just as I am."
She then added with a playful smirk. "Though I must admit, it's quite strange having to look up at my baby cousin now—the same little one who once loved playing with my fingers."
The room fell into a contemplative silence as Superman absorbed his cousin's words. His expression softened, a mix of wonder and excitement crossing his features.
"All these years," he said finally, his voice thick with emotion, "I thought I was truly alone. That I was the only one who carried Krypton's peaceful legacy." He met Kara's gaze, a gentle smile forming. "Welcome to Earth Kara, I have so much I want ask you."
J'onn J'onzz stepped forward, his expression understanding. "As someone who also knows the pain of losing their world, I welcome you, Kara Zor-El. Earth has become a home for many of us who have lost our original worlds."
Wonder Woman turned to Kara and added. "And now you have a chance to build a new life here, while honoring both your Kryptonian heritage and forging your own path."
"Thank you all," Kara replied with a warm smile and confidence in her eyes. "I look forward to working alongside you all. And since I still have much to learn, following my cousin's example I'll call myself Supergirl—though someday, once I've gained the experience I need, I'll take the title of Superwoman."
Batman's lip quirked in what might have been the ghost of a smile. "Supergirl... fitting."
"Wow, you actually smile?" Kara quipped, feigning a dramatic shiver. "That's... unsettling."
The room fell silent at her boldness, though Diana and Rachel exchanged knowing glances. Having overseen Kara's training simulations, they were well aware of how the Batman projection had particularly frustrated her. They turned their heads away, shoulders shaking with barely suppressed laughter.
Batman's eyes narrowed beneath his cowl, but those who knew him best could detect the faintest trace of amusement in his expression. "I've been known to, on rare occasions," he replied dryly.
"And here I thought the infamous Dark Knight didn't have a sense of humor," Kara replied with a playful wink. She crossed her arms, adopting a mock-serious expression. "Good thing too - after dealing with your insufferably brooding simulation during training, I was worried I'd have to avoid you just to keep from throwing you through a wall."
A deep, rumbling laugh echoed through the room as Aquaman clasped his trident, grinning broadly. "Finally! Someone who can match wits with the Dark Knight. The Justice League meetings just got a lot more interesting."
Cheetah studied the new addition to the team with narrowed eyes. "Watch your tone, Supergirl," she warned coolly. "While we appreciate a sense of humor, threatening your seniors—even in jest—isn't the best way to start."
Kara met Cheetah's gaze with a knowing smile. "I should have known you'd be the one to speak up. In my training simulations, you were always the most challenging opponent guarding Batman. Your speed and tactical awareness made getting past you... interesting." She turned to Batman with respect in her eyes. "And don't worry—I won't be joining the League but rather the Teen Titans, and those simulations taught me well. I know better than to underestimate the Dark Knight. I'd bet my cape you're carrying Kryptonite right now, aren't you?"
"Joining the Teen Titans to start is a wise choice," Batman said. "Now, about these simulations you mentioned. You have trained on that ship against simulated versions of us, haven't you? Was it under Orach?"
"Yes and no. You are right that I trained on the ship against your simulations. But Diana and Rachel were my instructors," Kara explained, shaking her head. "As for Orach..." A slight blush colored her cheeks. "Let's just say his presence was... intimidating enough from a distance."
Batman turned to Diana, who gave a subtle nod confirming Kara's account of her training. His expression remained neutral, but there was a calculating look in his eyes as he studied the newcomer.
"If you've trained against our simulations," Batman said thoughtfully, "perhaps it's time to test those skills against the real thing. Would you be interested in a sparring match?"
"A sparring match sounds perfect," Kara's eyes lit up with excitement as she turned to Superman. "What do you say, baby cousin? I'd love to test myself against the real Man of Steel, especially after all those training sessions with your simulation."
Superman raised an eyebrow, intrigued. "You managed to defeat my simulation?"
"Eventually," Kara replied with a modest smile. "Though I have a feeling the real you will be much more challenging. Plus," she gestured to her suit, "I haven't yet tested my new suit's full capabilities—which should make things quite interesting."
"That's... Saiyan technology," Superman said, his expression a mix of concern and wariness. "Orach allowed you to use their tech?"
"Yes," Kara replied, her expression turning solemn. "Kal, I know about the history between the Tuffles and Kryptonians. Rachel showed me the historical records and some of the battle logs… what they did was truly horrific. They were monsters, Kal." She paused, choosing her words carefully. "Though the situation is complex and unfair to us Kryptonians, I've come to understand both sides. The Tuffles' atrocities devastated many lower realms, which is why they're called the Sinner race and why Alacrity condemns everything connected to them, including us Kryptonians. I know this is the source of tension between you and Orach. But we should be thankful that neither of us carries that genetic taint and that Orach is kind not to act against us."
"The past can't be changed," Kara continued thoughtfully. "What matters is how we move forward. Look at this suit—Orach made it for me. I see it as a symbol of his trust, not just in me, but in who I could become. If he can look beyond my Kryptonian heritage to trust me, why can't you learn to trust him too?"
Superman was quiet for a moment, then asked carefully, "Tell me something, Kara. If we discovered a Kryptonian carrying the Tuffle genetic marker - before any signs of corruption - what would you do?"
"I would stand with Orach," Kara replied without hesitation, her voice steady but sad.
"Even if they were completely innocent?" Superman's voice rose slightly, a mix of shock and disappointment evident. "A child, perhaps, who hasn't shown any signs of the taint?"
Kara nodded and met his gaze unflinchingly. "Because they wouldn't stay innocent, Kal. As I've said, I studied the records, seen the evidence Rachel showed me. The Tuffle corruption isn't just physical - it's inevitable. And when it takes hold..." She paused, her voice growing softer. "The devastation they caused across multiple realms... Sometimes mercy means preventing greater suffering. I don't like it either, but I understand why such measures are necessary."
Hearing her words, the crowd had varying reactions. Some looked appalled especially amongst the Teen Titans, others conflicted, while those amongst the Justice League familiar with the Tuffles' history understood Kara's response. Superman remained silent for a long moment, his expression solemn. "I see."
Superman rose from his seat and turned to Batman. "Let's move this to the training area out back. It'll give us plenty of space."
Batman nodded in agreement as the group stood. He then addressed the two Generals, who had maintained their composure throughout the discussion of cosmic entities and multiversal threats. Their stoic expressions masked their inner turmoil — these were military men trained to handle conventional warfare, not interdimensional beings who could reshape reality. They couldn't help but wish for a speedier retirement. Batman noticed their subtle discomfort but chose not to comment.
"That will be all for today, Generals. We'll update you if there are any developments," Batman stated professionally.
"Understood. Swanwick out." The secure channel closed with a soft click.
As the gathered heroes made their way to the training area, excitement filled the air, particularly among the Teen Titans. It wasn't every day they got to witness a sparring match between two Kryptonians—especially since one would soon join their ranks. The Justice League and Teen Titans followed, all eager to see this demonstration unfold.
Mysterious Island near the British Isles
Around the same time as the Justice League welcomed back Diana and Rachel at the Hall of Justice, Orach materialized on a remote island in a flash of soft blue light. His Ki sense spread out and immediately detected two tall pillars rising from the shoreline, their surfaces etched with unsettling ominous patterns.
"Initiating environmental scan," Mother Empress announced as Orach's terminal's sophisticated sensors analyzed the island's peculiarities.
Orach intrigued by the pillars, took the air and soon hovered before the first pillar, studying the grotesque carvings that depicted bestial figures. Dark stains marked intricate patterns across its surface, causing him to narrow his eyes. "Mother Empress, analyze these markings."
"This is a sacrificial totem, Young Master," she replied. "The patterns are drawn in human blood, consistent with ancient ritualistic practices."
"And the second pillar?" Orach asked, already moving through a spatial ripple to examine it.
"It's identical," Orach observed.
"Indeed, Young Master. This pillar is also a sacrificial totem, matching the first in every detail," Mother Empress confirmed.
After examining the identical second pillar, Mother Empress detected something more interesting. "Young Master, I'm reading a complex multi-layered barrier ahead. Each layer appears to be self-healing, constructed from primitive but relatively powerful magic for this world."
Orach rose above the two pillars as his eyes shifted to crimson when he channeled his God Ki, revealing the barrier's true nature — a shimmering wall of purple energy with streaks of murky red connecting six pillars in a hexagonal pattern, forming a massive dome barrier around the island.
"As I suspected... this isn't just a magical barrier. There's demonic energy woven into its construction," remarked Orach as he observed the barrier.
"I agree with your assessment, Young Master. I'm also detecting a demonic signature, though it's extremely subtle. Running a matching query," replied Mother Empress. "The spell matrix is quite intricate, and given that this island hasn't appeared in Earth's records until now, it's clear the involved parties went to great lengths to keep this island hidden."
"True but," said Orach as he flew toward the center of the dome. With casual grace, he landed atop the barrier, his God Ki-wreathed feet tapping its surface. The moment he made contact, the effect was devastating—the barrier shattered like glass, its destruction cascading outward until the pillars themselves broke and in the moment crumbled to ash. Yet behind it lay another barrier, and another.
"Yeah... they were thorough in their attempts to hide this place," Orach observed as he descended, breaking through each layer. "Sadly, they met me. Their primitive magic is no match for God Ki."
At the island's heart, after breaking through the last barrier, a facility emerged from an obscure mist, surrounded by murky swampland. Mother Empress detected multiple magical wards protecting the building, but something else troubled her. "Young Master, don't you find it strange? Despite the commotion we've caused, there's been no response."
"Indeed," Orach's expression darkened. "Let's see if they'll continue to ignore us." He descended before the facility's main gates and, with a casual flick of his finger, demolished the reinforced doors, sending them crashing inward.
As Orach stepped through the demolished entrance, an eerie silence greeted him instead of the expected resistance. The scene before him made him momentarily pause - flickering emergency lights cast haunting shadows across blood-spattered corridors, where bodies of heavily armed soldiers lay strewn about like broken dolls. His eyes narrowed as he ventured deeper into the facility, taking in increasingly brutal scenes.
"Mother Empress, analyze these casualties," Orach commanded as he knelt beside one of the fallen. A soft blue scanning beam activated, sweeping over the body.
"Analysis indicates severe trauma consistent with superhuman strength, Young Master. Time of death estimated at thirty-seven minutes ago. Most curious—the attack patterns suggest the assailant emerged from the facility's inner sectors," replied Mother Empress.
Orach's eyes narrowed as he followed the trail of destruction deeper into the facility. Each new corridor revealed increasingly brutal scenes - walls cratered with impact marks, security doors torn from their frames, and more bodies. All of them had been attempting to flee outward.
"They weren't defending against an external threat," Orach observed grimly. "They were trying to contain something that broke free from within."
"Young Master," Mother Empress's voice sounded in through the scouter. "I'm detecting active technology within. Accessing their network now... Security protocols bypassed." As she worked, Orach activated his scouter, scanning for any remaining power signatures in the facility.
The scouter suddenly locked onto a significant energy reading emanating from the facility's center. But before Orach could process this information, something unexpected happened - his scouter flashed a warning code he hadn't encountered in centuries.
"Mother Empress, confirm reading," Orach commanded, his voice turning cold as he lowered his head.
"Confirmed, Young Master," replied Mother Empress, her voice growing solemn. "The energy signature, though slightly different, is similar enough."
As he heard the confirmation, tribulation lightning crackled around Orach's form while his eyes transformed to their primordial state. Within his inner realm, all nine domains rumbled, releasing angry dragon roars. Without hesitation, he willed a ripple in space itself, creating a pocket dimension that overlapped with the energy signature's location.
The chamber he emerged into was dimly lit, dominated by a massive circular structure in the middle. Advanced technology lined the walls — far beyond Earth's current capabilities, nearly rivaling his own contributions at Wayne Tech. But what drew his absolute attention was the figure physically connected to the central command interface through multiple cables.
"Target located," Mother Empress reported. "The entity appears to be actively downloading data from the facility's mainframe."
In the next moment, Orach shifted fully into normal space. As his feet touched the floor, the being, sensing the new presence, lifted its head, calmly disconnecting from the system, cables retracting into its form with mechanical precision. When it turned to face him, revealing features that were a mockery of human design, its gleaming eyes locked onto Orach.
"After all this time," Orach's words cut through the silence between them like a blade, each syllable laden with centuries of hatred. The tribulation lightning intensified around him as his eyes blazed with ancient fury. "Even after my ascension... your kind still ignites my rage... Android."
