Chapter 254 - Ready To Rank Up!
The Soma Familia, due to Soma rarely intervening in its management, could be described as chaotic internally.
The Familia members were even more challenging to handle.
Even the guild had complaints about them.
However, according to Mahiro, the Soma Familia seemed quite reasonable and easy to negotiate with.
Hephaestus looked exasperated.
"Hahaha, that's my Mahiro for you! Even the troubles of the Soma Familia are no match for you," Hestia said with a laugh, completely trusting his words without any doubts.
"Hestia, I recall you weren't this naive back in heaven," Hephaestus sighed.
She knew Hestia would fall for Mahiro's nonsense, but she certainly wouldn't.
"Oh, by the way, I almost forgot about this," Mahiro said.
He took off his backpack, pulled out a bottle, and removed the cork.
Instantly, a rich, mellow wine aroma wafted from the bottle's opening.
The sweet scent quickly filled the entire area.
The pervasive fragrance carried a magical allure, tempting those who smelled it to indulge, as if an unseen force urged them to drink it immediately.
"It smells amazing!" Hestia exclaimed, drawn in by the intoxicating aroma.
She swallowed hard, her excitement almost childlike.
"This flavor..." Hephaestus fixed her gaze on the bottle in Mahiro's hands.
"Isn't this the divine wine?"
"Hephaestus, have you never tried it?" Mahiro asked, tilting his head slightly.
"It's something a fellow god mentioned in passing once," Hephaestus replied, shaking her head.
"I've only tasted the batches of divine wine that made it to the market."
"I heard the authentic stuff isn't for sale. Aside from Soma Familia, no one's supposed to get their hands on it."
"How did you manage to acquire it?"
Soma himself was well aware of the divine wine's effects.
He didn't dare risk causing widespread chaos in the world by selling the genuine product.
If he did, all of Orario might descend into disorder.
After all, Level 1 adventurers and ordinary citizens made up the vast majority of Orario's population.
High class adventurers capable of resisting the wine's effects were few and far between.
"I got it from Soma," Mahiro answered casually.
"That alcohol-obsessed fool of a god actually let you take his divine wine?"
"Now I'm curious—what exactly did you do in the Soma Familia?" Hephaestus asked, casting a skeptical glance at Mahiro.
"I just had a little sparring match with the Soma Familia members and came out on top," Mahiro explained with a shrug.
Hephaestus blinked, unsurprised.
She had a feeling he'd done something bold.
Mahiro glossed over his adventure with the Soma Familia, but she suspected he'd accomplished something extraordinary—like storming their headquarters single-handedly.
"Mahiro, you're not hurt, are you?" Hestia asked, fussing over him.
She patted his arms and sides, checking for injuries.
"I'm fine," Mahiro said with a smile, gently stopping her.
"They were much easier to deal with than monsters."
"There won't be any trouble, will there?" Hephaestus inquired.
A direct confrontation like that hadn't happened in Orario for quite some time.
More importantly, it could stir up issues with the Guild if word got out.
"No, it's all taken care of," Mahiro assured her with a nod.
"Mahiro, let me try that divine wine!" Hestia, unable to resist the lingering aroma any longer, reached for the bottle in his hand.
"Update my status first, then you can drink," Mahiro said, lightly swatting her hand away.
He corked the bottle and handed it to Hephaestus.
"Let's keep it here for now. We can all enjoy it together later."
"Fine by me. I'll head out to a restaurant and grab some dishes to go with it," Hephaestus said.
As usual, Hestia led Mahiro upstairs to update his status.

Holding the parchment in his hand, Mahiro stared at the recorded values and muttered,
"These odd basic abilities again."
"I've never seen anything like it," Hestia said from beside him.
"But if I had to guess, you've likely hit the maximum numbers for Level 1."
"That's probably why these unusual numbers are showing up."
"Maximum numbers? Does the falna have a limit?" Mahiro asked, curious.
"I'm not entirely sure," Hestia admitted, shaking her head.
"No one's ever reached this point before, so I can't say for certain."
"But since the falna is made from our blood, its limits might be tied to us gods—and to the potential growth of you adventurers."
"It's possible your current basic abilities represent the highest achievable at Level 1," she added.
"Is that so?" Mahiro nodded.
Hestia's theory made some sense to him.
"But none of that matters right now!" Hestia suddenly beamed, her voice brimming with excitement.
"Mahiro, congratulations—you're ready to rank up!"
