The Guard Base received several airdrops from the United Nations within three days of its establishment, promising to start accepting survivors in the fall to let all survivors know that they had not been abandoned. A small radio station was also relocated to the Guard Base. However, the Guard Base was still located within the city, and it was not easy or safe for the people in the suburbs to get to the base.
East Base maintained a silent stance about the establishment of Guard Base, seeming to not object to people with other thoughts leaving East Base. This act triggered a chain reaction, with several armed groups leaving East Base in succession. They did not head to Guard Base but instead created their own homes with families and friends.
