The mid-afternoon sun enters Kaede's house through the openings in the woodwork and windows, while the wind from outside shakes the shutter that is used as a door.
Inside the room you can see the whole group, we have the girls with their new member Hitomiko and the usual boys. They are all surrounding a table, on which sits the elder Myoga.
"How could you let this happen, you bunch of fools!"
Shouting hysterically to the point that he calls everyone fools, Myoga still doesn't come out of his anger and tries to jump towards Asahiko, but he just smashes him with a finger against the table.
"Calm down flea Myoga, it can't be that bad"
"Bad, bad! This is terrible, Clouded Fang is not a normal sword, it has the spirit of a dragon sealed inside it like this"
"Tsk, stop exaggerating, we already defeated Ryukotsusei. One more dragon is nothing."
"Ignorant child, Ryukotsusei is nothing compared to Souga, a true dragon from hell. Souga has no feelings, he only wants to destroy everything and everyone... Especially the children of master Inu no Taisho"
Reaching a point of being hyperventilating, Myoga looks ready to leave for the other side, though he finally pulls himself together.
"Bah, I'm already used to fighting dad's former enemies, plus I've also fought Asahiko using that sword. It's really no big deal"
"Young Asahiko has never really used Clouded Fang, be it its ability to make terrifying illusions, raise the dead or open gates to hell"
Grabbing his head with four of his hands, Myoga seems to remember unimaginable horrors, causing him to roll around like shrimp on the ground.
"Is that true, Asahiko?"
"Ah... Yes, I never really used the power of Clouded Fang. I simply had too much to put up with the continuous yelling on his part, much less to talk and ask about how to use his abilities."
"Well... Wait, was that thing talking to you through the seal?"
Slamming his hands on the table, Miroku shakes it enough to nearly knock Myoga off his feet. His reaction was justified, he was one of the few who was interested in the Clouded Fang seal and talked to Saya about it.
"The seal can't do anything against Souga's soul, it can barely contain his power... Ahh, he must have already brainwashed that demon and he must have it under his orders"
"So now we're not facing that Menōmaru guy, but Asahiko's sword?"
"And a whole army of undead, hell beings and who knows what else if we don't do something fast!"
"Calm down old man Myoga, we can do something... Right guys?"
Placing a smile on her beautiful face, Kagome seems to lift the spirits of the surroundings with her simple words alone. This is one of Kagome's best qualities, and something Kikyo falls short of.
"Well said, Kagome. It may be a difficult thing, but never impossible."
"You can count me in, by that little yokai's account... That sword is quite dangerous."
"Of course I'm counting on you, my mighty priestly cudgel.... Okay, I'll be quiet now."
Sharing a friendly laugh among everyone present, whether it was because of Asahiko's way of speaking or his cowardice in front of Kagome, everyone falls silent and looks at Myoga.
"Old Hyoga, his son Menōmaru and the remnants of his army were killed and sealed by a claw of Master Inu no Taisho in the Forest of No Return"
"Forest of No Return?"
"Umm.... It is the final battlefield between Inu no Taisho and Hyoga. The blood of two great Daiyoukai stained the land, leaving it an inaccessible, cursed and extremely dangerous place for everyone"
"Cut out all the warnings and all that, tell us at once which way to go!"
Remembering that Inuyasha is not the patient of the group, Myoga simply shakes his head and begins to travel through his memories.
"I don't remember... Ahh, put down that fist master Inuyasha, you must understand that I'm not a fighter and I wasn't there in person"
"Well, we're back where we started"
"Ahem, maybe I can help you."
Entering her own house under the surprised gaze and call of "Elder Kaede" plus one of "Lady Kaede", the eponymous old woman remains perched at the door waiting for an answer.
"You know something, old woman?"
"It wouldn't do you any harm to learn from the new girl a little respect, Inuyasha. But back to the subject, the Forest of No Return is one of the places I was with my sister."
"Kikyo?"
"What other sister does Kaede have, you piece of idiot?"
Looking at Inuyasha as if he was a really special person, Asahiko just lets out a sigh and fixes her gaze on Kaede, a clear signal for her to continue talking.
"This is an extremely dangerous place, demonic poison fills every corner making it so that the sun cannot be seen, while illusions of all kinds assault people and everyone who has entered its depths has never returned"
"Ka, Ka, Kagome... I think it's a bad idea to go there."
"Take it easy, Shippo. We have Inuyasha and... Asahiko, those two can handle anything"
"That's right little Shippo, with those two here, we could storm even some demon's lair and walk away peacefully"
Putting a smile on their faces, Inuyasha and Asahiko soak in their teammates' praise gladly. Of course the others noticed the mental state of those two, but it's not like their words are a lie either... They are truly strong after the Ryukotsusei fight.
"You heard them old lady, where is that forest?"
"Ah... I'll never be able to with you, Inuyasha"
Letting out a sigh of pure resignation, Kaede begins to relay the information to them as completely as possible, making the meeting extend for about forty more minutes.
Thanks to that extension the group also learned a bit more about the powers of Clouded Fang, the horrors of the Forest of No Return and what they might encounter there.
