"Well done, now that you know how to kill a demon, no one can stop you," Sin clapped his hands while watching the scenario from above.
"Get down from that tree, demon," Karyan replied to his statement while cleaning the sorcerer's sword.
"You know, that sword could really hurt someone. It's better if you'd destroy it."
"Not happening…I'm going to keep it as a souvenir."
"Are you sure it's not for experimenting the dark magic?"
Karyan chuckled, "yes. Because dark magic is the only thing we humans are interested in."
"No, but it could help you in the future, for example…" he gracefully landed on his feet, "when you face the king."
"Answer me this, demon. Why are you helping me?"
Sin stopped for a minute to think, exactly; why was he helping this human?
"I don't know. I guess I have nothing else to do?"
"I asked you honestly, so I was expecting an honest answer as well."
"Yes, yes! don't need to threaten me with your eyes, snake. I will tell you why."
Karyan glared at him, but his calm face wasn't exposing that.
Sin shrugged, looking slightly uncomfortable under Karyan's gaze. "Alright, alright. I'll tell you the truth. I'm helping you because... because I see something in you. Something different."
Karyan raised an eyebrow, intrigued. "Different? What do you mean?"
Sin hesitated for a moment before speaking. "I mean, most humans I encounter are driven by greed, power, or revenge. But you, Karyan, you have a spark of something else. Something... noble."
Karyan's expression softened, "Noble? Me?"
Sin nodded, his voice was sincere. "Yes, you. Despite the darkness that surrounds you, there's a light within you that I can sense, but it's blinded by the darkness that I like."
Karyan was taken aback by Sin's words, his hand was unconsciously tightening around the hilt of the sword. "Heh…."
Sin smiled gently. "Sometimes, we don't see our own potential until someone else points it out to us. You have a choice, Karyan. You can embrace that spark within you and use it for good, or you can let it fade away and let the darkness claim you."
"I'm not making a contract with you, demon."
"But if you've tried-"
"No!"
"I could simply help you achieve everything you want, your revenge, more power, more-"
"Sin, I think you got it wrong. For my revenge, I don't need the dark sources. My serpent's power will be just enough for everything."
"That's where you're wrong, snake…but oh well."
Karyan fell silent, lost in thought.
After a moment, he met Sin's gaze with newfound determination. "I choose to win no matter what it takes, but I don't need a demon's power…."
Sin's eyes sparkled, "That's the spirit, Karyan. Remember, true strength comes from within."
"You really do know how to get on my nerves, demon."
"It's my job. When have you ever seen that demons were kind and pleasant to humans?"
"No such case ever happened."
"There you go, now let's go. I think Nedeira needs to be prepared, no?"
"How do you know what I'm going to do with her?"
Sin smiled, "I felt it. Every time you have a dark, sinister and evil mind, I can feel it."
"How?" Karyan tilted an eyebrow.
"Let's say, we demons are connected to the darkness, and we sense it. The murdering, the killing, torturing, everything you think about , know."
"So there's no point in wasting my time on explaining my plan then? Does Nedeira's power work on you?"
"If she was a powerful wielder, probably. For now, it doesn't."
"Don't underestimate her, demon. Nedeira is not aware of her own potential just yet."
"That's why it will not work on me, I will get her soon, but where do I take her?"
"Somewhere safe. I will destroy the dagger and will call out for the king."
"The demon that this sorcerer is using, it's extremely powerful and dangerous. When I sensed his powers, I froze…I've never met a demon so dark before."
"I wonder how the king found him?"
"We demons don't find humans, they come to us…"
Karyan looked around to make sure no one was watching them, "elaborate."
"Nothing to elaborate here, but when we sense evil, but vulnerable people-"
"You sense that and then strike at their weakest point where they only think that making contracts with you is the only left choice for them."
A loud laugh escaped from Sin's lips, wiping the small tear off his face, he nodded. "See? That's what I'm talking about…you're so potential…"
"Get Nedeira now."
